THE NEW SKULPTURHALLE A new permanent exhibition will be staged in 2017 at the Skulpturhalle, which will provide both a chronological and a thematic introduction to ancient sculpture. The unique Parthenon reconstructions with their complete assembly of architectural reliefs and pedimental sculptures as well as the impressive architectural models will retain a prominent position within the exhibition. From March 2017 the Skulpturhalle will reduce its opening hours (see page 2) but will be open to visitors free of charge. We plan to modify the permanent exhibition every year so that new research questions can be incorporated on a regular basis. From February 2017 curator Tomas Lochman, who previously managed the Skulpturhalle from 1993 to 2012, will deal with any issues specifically concerning it.
