LAURENCE HARBOR LIBRARY EXPANDS HOURS

Old Bridge Public Library, Old Bridge, NJ, 12/14/23 – Evening, weekend and increased library hours will be restored to the library’s Laurence Harbor Branch beginning on January 2nd of 2024. Mayor Owen Henry, along with the library’s Board of Trustees found a creative solution to the challenge of finding a temporary branch in 2023: conversion of a former Amboy bank branch into a public library facility. With books and DVDs for lending, computers WiFi and a children’s play space, the Laurence Harbor Branch offers something for everyone in its compact space. With generous collaboration from the department of Parks and Recreation, the library will be able to offer larger programs in 2024 at their Laurence Harbor, waterfront facility. Lauren Parnagian, the branch’s new librarian, is eager to reach out to the community to enhance existing services on Tuesday from 10-6, Wednesday from 12-8, Thursday from 10-6 and Saturday from 10-5

28TH ANNUAL “COPS FOR KIDS” HOLIDAY PARTY

On Friday December 1st, Old Bridge Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 127 held their 28th annual “Cops For Kids” holiday party for local families in need. With the help of various donations from many local businesses and families, PBA members were able to provide families with a night out which

included dinner, DJ music, games, gifts, and desserts. The highlight of the night was when Santa and two of his elves made a surprise appearance to hand out presents to all the children. They were all very excited. PBA members wanted to give a special thank you to all the volunteers from the Old

son Nick, Midge & John Hauser, Chief Bob Verney & Anthony Cosentino from All Around Old Bridge and the team at All American Ford and Quality Chevy. We loaded NOT 1, NOT 2 BUT 3 box trucks filled with 55 boxes and over 85 bags, over 2,000 toys. This year, we exceeded our goal collecting over 2,000 toys with over 25 drop off sites throughout town to continue to help bring a little extra joy for the 2023-holiday season. With multiple pick-ups each week made by Chief Bob Verney, Chief of Fire Administration for Fire District #3, and Anthony Cosentino, All Around Old Bridge Sales Manager, 25 drop-off locations throughout the town, Continue on page 17
