The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra is made up of nearly 70 tenured musicians. Annapolis Symphony musicians reach our community through a robust schedule of Masterworks, Chamber, and Pops concerts, as well as through community events. Last year, we performed 68 live performances, attended by more than 27,000 people of all ages.
Our performances make music accessible through community concerts at local parks, schools, and medical centers. Last year alone, Annapolis Symphony musicians performed for more than 10,000 free or subsidized listeners!
Annapolis Symphony musicians provide hope in hospitals and healthcare. During the 2022-2023 performance season, we performed 24 concerts at hospitals to honor front-line workers, at behavioral health centers to bring music to those afflicted with addiction and mental health issues, and at assisted living centers, giving joy to those no longer able to attend concerts in person.
Annapolis Symphony musicians make a big impact on kids’ lives. In the 2022-2023 season, more than 2,600 students discovered the joy of music through school visits and live concerts.
The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra partners with organizations like the Anne Arundel County Public Schools, BannekerDouglass Museum, The Salvation Army, and the Marshall Learning Center to provide musical enrichment to students in under-resourced neighborhoods. One of every four children we impacted through a musical performance attends a Title I school.
ASO musicians mentor the next generation with the Annapolis Symphony Academy, where many of our musicians serve as faculty, volunteers, or mentors. Over 400 students have enrolled in the Academy since it was established in 2018, receiving over 6,550 lessons. Half of Academy students receive need-based financial assistance, made possible by our sponsors and individual donors.
Sponsors see first-hand the dedication, passion, and skill our musicians bring to each ASO performance. Your generosity demonstrates your support for their talent and dedication.
Benefits of Sponsorship:
• Your name on the Musician Sponsorship page of Annapolis Symphony print and digital publications;
• Exclusive access to an annual dinner with the musician you sponsor;
• Invitations to exclusive donor events like Music at Midmorning, Dress Rehearsals, and Crescendo Club;
• Sponsorships are tax deductible
Individual musician sponsorship covers less than 40% of the salary we pay our talented performers.
Recently, we negotiated with the Musicians’ Association of Metropolitan Baltimore, Local 40-543, American Federation of Musicians to ensure that our musicians receive an appropriate wage in alignment with their skills and talents. The more than 19% pay rate raise means we attract the best and brightest musicians in the region.
Support the talented individuals who mean so much to our audiences and community. Sponsor a musician, group of musicians, orchestra section, or instrument family today.
