We are thrilled to present our inaugural quarterly newsletter and to introduce the exciting new chapter ahead. I am deeply honored to share that I, Deirdre Peters, have been elected as the President of the Annapolis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc for the 2024-2026 biennium
About Us:
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc is a vibrant public service organization dedicated to academic excellence, supporting underserved communities, and advocating for social justice Our mission is to make a lasting positive impact through our diverse service programs
The Annapolis Alumnae Chapter, chartered as Gamma Omicron Sigma on December 9, 1947, by Eastern Regional Director Muriel Jenkins, continues a legacy of service and sisterhood founded by Sorors Lois D Randall, Muriel Holland, Ruby C Simms, Sylvia G Richardson, and Mary C Brown We honor their vision by upholding the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of our national organization: Educational Development, Economic Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement
Our Partnerships:
To date, we have established active partnerships with the Chesapeake Children’s Museum, Monarch Academy, Runnin' Mavericks Basketball Organization, Salem Chapel British Methodist Episcopal Church (St Catharines, Ontario, Canada), St Philip’s Episcopal Church, and the Anne Arundel County League of Women Voters These collaborations are vital to our mission, allowing us to extend our reach and deepen our impact within the community.

Our goal is to increase our visibility and make a meaningful difference in the community We invite you to join us in this mission and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Recent Initiatives:
We recently spearheaded an innovative voter engagement initiative at the Kunta Kinte Festival We encourage you to support our “Fortitude on the Front Line: Election 2024” initiative and help us amplify this critical effort.
Youth Initiatives:
Applications for our youth programs are now open! Please find the application link attached We are excited to offer unique programming and look forward to your support in spreading the word.
Support Our Youth:
We are currently selling tickets for our 2023 Game Night, a key fundraiser to raise money for our youth programs. We would greatly appreciate your support in purchasing tickets or making a donation to this worthy cause Your contribution will directly impact the lives of the young people we serve
