Dear Community and Strategic Partners,
We’re excited to share that our year has started off strong, with impactful initiatives that are already making a difference!
Building Awareness and Supporting the Community
• Serving Our Community Initiative: We kicked off this meaningful effort by volunteering at the Lighthouse Shelter, where we served meals to individuals and families facing food insecurity.
• Breast Cancer Awareness Day (October 27th): Partnering with St Philip’s Episcopal Church, we brought vital resources and education to our community, supporting individuals and families impacted by breast cancer.
• Monarch Academy Annapolis Trunk or Treat Event: Our members volunteered at the registration table to ensure a seamless and fun-filled experience for families and students
• Fall Fest with Annapolis Recreation and Parks: In collaboration with the Annapolis Chapter of Kappas on the Chesapeake, we raised community awareness of our chapter’s services and programs by distributing candy and engaging with attendees
• Banneker-Douglas Museum Renaming Ceremony: Our members served at the registration table during this historic event, contributing to its success and supporting cultural preservation in our community.
These are just a few examples of how we are actively engaging and making an impact in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County.
Thanks to our partnership with the League of Women Voters of Anne Arundel County, we hosted candidate forums, provided timekeepers, and connected with the community to spread awareness about voting deadlines and timelines. Together, we amplified our voices through a collaborative social media campaign to encourage informed voting.
• Black Maternal Health Community Awareness Day: Join us on January 12, 2025, at Monarch Academy in Annapolis for this important event. Together, we’ll empower and educate our community on Black maternal health. Please share this with your networks and consider lending your support.
• Spring Scholarship Fundraiser: We’re planning an exciting event to raise funds to support scholarships and empower the next generation of leaders.
• Exploring New Collaborations: As we plan for the 2025-2026 sorority year, we’re eager to strengthen existing partnerships and explore new opportunities to deepen our impact.
If you couldn’t join us for Fall Fest, it’s not too late to make a difference! Donations are still being accepted to support our youth programs and initiatives
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we’re making an extraordinary impact in our community!
Best regards,
