NEAR - Nordestnight 2013 is a European project leaded by the University of Verona in partnership with Universities Ca’ Foscari (Venice), IUAV, Padua, Trieste, Udine and with the Association of Chambers of commerce of Veneto Region and the National Institute for Astrophysics of Padua
È questa l’idea di fondo, profondamente contemporanea, del Discorso Alla Pari: la creazione di un’opera d’arte da realizzare non dipingendo un quadro, plasmando una scultura o scattando una fotografia, ma affidandosi alla persona stessa come “materia” narrativa (...) Marco Bevilacqua L’individuo è e si caratterizza anche per gli oggetti di cui si circonda per necessità, per vanità, per piacere, per scelta, ma difficilmente immagina di poter stabilire con essi un dialogo e di comunicare senza filtri e inibizioni, alla pari. Attraverso la relazione che si instaura tra la persona e l’oggetto scelto e grazie alla sensibilità dell’artista, un mondo di esseri apparentemente inanimati si appropria di uno spazio vitale ed attraverso insondabili canali comunicativi si rivela e ci svela nuove possibilità di interazione e lettura della realtà. I protagonisti dell’esperienza artistica, entrando in una dimensione meta-fisica che trascende la materialità dell’oggetto, scoprono un’affinità e una sintonia , avviano un dialogo intimo sui temi più diversi e inaspettati. Ogni dialogo è stato documentato fotograficamente e restituito in una sequenza di scatti che riproduce, a distanza di tempo, lo sviluppo e il distendersi di questa relazione. Discorso Alla Pari è dunque una produzione e insieme un’esperienza artistica, è una pluralità di voci ricomposte dall’intuizione dell’artista ed è infine un’opera in divenire, aperta a nuovi contributi
This is the basic and profoundly contemporary concept of the Peer Discussion: creating a work of art, not by painting a picture, carving a sculpture or taking a picture, but by turning to people themselves as narrative “material� (...) Marco Bevilacqua Individuals are also characterised by the objects they choose to surround themselves with, as a matter of necessity, because of their vanity, or as a matter of pleasure, but they hardly imagine they could establish a dialogue with these objects, and communicate with them in a peer-to-peer discussion, without filters and inhibitions. Through the relationship that is instilled between the person and object chosen and thanks to the sensitivity of the artist, a world of apparently inanimate beings has appropriated a vital space for itself, has revealed itself and brought new possibilities for interaction with and interpretation of reality to the fore, through unfathomable channels of communication. The protagonists of the artistic experience enter a metaphysical dimension, which transcends the material nature of the object, discovering affinities and a common wavelength, initiating an intimate dialogue on the most disparate and unexpected themes. Every dialogue has been documented photographically and displayed in a sequence of snapshots, which reproduce, over a period of time, the development and unfolding of this relationship. Peer Discussion is therefore a production, as well as a set of artistic experiences, and a plurality of voices, brought together through the intuition of the artist and, finally, a work of art experiencing its own gestalt, open to new contributions

Discorso Alla Pari sulla Semplicità Nel mio lavoro è importante semplificare, rendere accessibile. Ho scelto il Pac-Man perché rappresenta l’incipit dell’intrattenimento videoludico e allo stesso tempo la nascita della mia passione per questo campo. Ha delle analogie con la mia vita. Fin da piccolo ho immaginato un mondo in cui si potesse vivere lungamente e in salute. Con questo vetrino si può leggere il DNA delle persone, compreso il mio. Discorso Alla Pari sulla Possibilità Nel definire le cose preferisco la vaghezza. Questo modo di pensare può essere allo stesso tempo un difetto e una qualità. Per esempio non so trovare un uso ‘proprio’ del libro…ma forse questa è la cosiddetta ricchezza della lettura (…) Peer Discussion on Possibility I prefer vagueness when defining things…this way of thinking could be at the same time an impediment but also a quality.
