ADDRESS BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE CULTURAL SERVICES OF THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND CULTURE The institution of the Short Film and Documentary Festival, currently in its fourth year, is an excellent opportunity for the Ministry of Education and Culture to present to the public the films, which have been financed by the State as well as independent short film and documentary productions. These screenings demonstrate the dynamism of the industry as a whole, promote young talents and develop, to a large extent, dialogue and communication between the audience and the filmmakers. Having recognized several years ago the great significance of short films and documentaries, the Ministry presents in Cyprus, along with the Film Festival of Cypriot Directors, the Greek short films and documentaries which were awarded at the Film Festival of Drama as well as European shorts films awarded by the European Film Academy. At the same time, through a number of specialised programmes, the Ministry strengthens their production and screening in many festivals all over the world. In this global context of growth in the short film industry, Cypriot cinematography is also flourishing with our young directors taking part and receiving awards in important international festivals. At the Short Film and Documentary Festival, Cypriot creators present their film narratives to their own public in Cyprus and are given the opportunity to meet and discuss with the viewers. I would like to thank our distinguished guests, the members of the Jury, the sponsors of this event and all those who have helped organise it. Above all, I would like to thank the filmmakers for kindly providing us with their films for the purposes of this event.

Ïé ðñþôåò ôïõ (èïëÝò) ìíÞìåò åßíáé ôï êÜøéìï ôïõ êõâåñíåßïõ, ç áðáãüñåõóç êõêëïöïñßáò ìåôÜ ôç äýóç ôïõ Þëéïõ, ïé ÅããëÝæïé óôñáôéþôåò ìå ôá êïíôÜ ÷áêß ðáíôåëïíÜêéá êáé ç Üãñéá ôñïìïêñáôßá ôïõò. 1945. Tåëåéþíåé ôï Ðáãêýðñéï ÃõìíÜóéï. Ïé ãïíåßò ôïõ ôïí óôÝëëïõí óôçí ÁèÞíá íá óðïõäÜóåé ãéáôñüò. Áí´ áõôïý áðïöáóßæåé íá ðñï÷ùñÞóåé ìå ôï ðÜèïò ôçò æùÞò ôïõ, ôïí êéíçìáôïãñÜöï. Ïé ãïíåßò ôïõ ôïõ ´êïøáí ôï åðßäïìá. Ìðáßíåé ìå õðïôñïößá óôï ôìÞìá óêçíïèåôþí ôçò ó÷ïëÞò ÓôáõñÜêïõ. ÄÜóêáëüò ôïõ ï Ãñçãüñçò Ãñçãïñßïõ, ìå ôïí ïðïßï äïýëåøå (ùò âïçèüò óêçíïèÝôç) óôï «Ðéêñü Øùìß». Ãéá íá ãëéôþóåé ôç ëéìïêôïíßá, áëëÜ êáé íá ìåßíåé óôï ÷þñï, äÞëùóå ôå÷íéêüò. Äïýëåøå (ìåñïêÜìáôï ðåßíáò) óå ìéá ôáéíßá ôïõ ÓðÝíôæïõ «ÁìÜñôçóá ãéá ôï Ðáéäß ìïõ», ùò âïçèüò ïðåñáôÝñ êáé öùôïãñÜöïò ðëáôü. 1951. ÅñãÜæåôáé óôç ÖÉÍÏÓ ùò âïçèüò ïðåñáôÝñ êáé âïçèüò ìïíôÝñ. Óôç óõíÝ÷åéá ùò ìïíôÝñ, äéåõèõíôÞò öùôïãñáößáò êáé ïðåñáôÝñ. Îåêßíçóå ìå ôçí «ÁííÞ ôïõ Ëéìáíéïý» êáé ðÝñáóå áðü ôáéíßåò üðùò: «Ôï ÓïöåñÜêé», «Ï Ãñïõóïýæçò», «Ç Ùñáßá ôùí Áèçíþí», «Ïýôå ÃÜôá Ïýôå ÆçìéÜ», «Ç Ãêüëöù», «Ï Áãáðçôéêüò ôçò Âïóêïðïýëáò», «ËáôÝñíåò», «Ç ÊõñÜ ìáò ç ÌáìÞ», «Ìéá ÆùÞ ôçí ¸÷ïõìå», «Ç ÁóôÝñù», «Ôï Îýëï ÂãÞêå áð´ ôïí ÐáñÜäåéóï» ê.Ü. 1959. Ðáñáéôåßôáé êáé îåêéíÜ íá åñãÜæåôáé ùò åëåýèåñïò åðáããåëìáôßáò. 1960. Ç ðñþôç ôïõ óêçíïèåôéêÞ äïõëåéÜ «´Åãêëçìá óôá ÐáñáóêÞíéá» ðñïâëÞèçêå óôï ðñþôï ÖåóôéâÜë Åëëçíéêïý ÊéíçìáôïãñÜöïõ óôç Èåóóáëïíßêç êáé åéóÝðñáîå 2 âñáâåßá. Èá áêïëïõèïýóáí ðïëëÜ Üëëá. Óôç öùôïãñáößá, óêçíïèåóßá êáé ìïíôÜæ åíáëëÜóóïíôáé: «Áíôéãüíç», «Áëßìïíï óôïõò ÍÝïõò», «Ï Êýñéïò ÐôÝñáñ÷ïò», «Ôçò Êáêïìïßñáò», «Ïé Áäßóôáêôïé», «Óýíôïìï ÄéÜëåéììá» (äéêÝò ôïõ), «Ï ÌåãÜëïò Äé÷áóìüò», «Ôæßìçò ï Ôßãñçò» êáé Üëëåò. Áðñßëçò 1967, Äéêôáôïñßá. 1968-69. Ãõñßæåé (öùôïãñáößá-ìïíôÜæ) êÜðïéåò ôáéíßåò ðáñáãùãÞò-óêçíïèåóßáò ÈáíÜóç ÂÝããïõ. 1970. ÊÜíåé ôï íôåìðïýôï ôïõ óôçí ðáñáãùãÞ ìå 2 ôáéíßåò äéêéÜò ôïõ óêçíïèåóßáò ìå ôï ÂÝããï ðñùôáãùíéóôÞ. 1971. Ãõñßæåé ìéá áíôéðïëåìéêÞ óÜôéñá ôï «Ôé ¸êáíåò óôïí Ðüëåìï ÈáíÜóç». Ç êñéôéêÞ åðéôñïðÞ ôïõ ÖåóôéâÜë ôßìçóå ôçí ôáéíßá ìå ðïëëÜ âñáâåßá. Ôçí åðüìåíç ÷ñïíéÜ åðáíÝñ÷åôáé ìå 2 ôáéíßåò, ôï «ÈáíÜóç ÐÜñå ô´ üðëï óïõ» (äéêÞò ôïõ óêçíïèåóßáò) êáé «Ôï Ðñïîåíéü ôçò ´Áííáò» ôïõ Âïýëãáñç (ðáñáãùãÞ êáé ôï ìïíôÜæ). Êáé ïé äýï ôáéíßåò óÜñùóáí ôá âñáâåßá ôïõ ÖåóôéâÜë. 1973. Ãõñßæåé Üëëåò 2 ôáéíßåò. Áðü ôï ´76 ùò ôï ´82 ãýñéóå áñêåôÝò áêüìá ôáéíßåò ìå ôï ÂÝããï. Ç ôáéíßá «Ï Ðáëáâüò Êüóìïò ôïõ ÈáíÜóç», Þôáí óðïíäõëùôÞ, ìå åöôÜ 12ëåðôá êéíçìáôïãñáöéêÜ äéçãÞìáôá. Äýï áð´áõôÜ èåùñÞèçêáí áðü ôïõò êñéôéêïýò ôçò åðï÷Þò äåßãìáôá êéíçìáôïãñáöéêÞò áíèïëïãßáò. ÔÝëç ôçò äåêáåôßáò ôïõ ´80 Ýêáíå ìßá èçôåßá ôïõ Ä.Ó. ôïõ Åëëçíéêïý ÊÝíôñïõ ÊéíçìáôïãñÜöïõ êáé ôñåéò èçôåßåò ùò ðñüåäñïò ôçò Åôáéñåßáò ÅëëÞíùí Óêçíïèåôþí. Ôá ôåëåõôáßá 20 ÷ñüíéá åñãÜæåôáé åßôå ùò äéåõèõíôÞò öùôïãñáößáò, åßôå ùò ìïíôÝñ åßôå ùò óõìðáñáãùãüò êáé ðïëý óõ÷íÜ ìå üëåò áõôÝò ôéò éäéüôçôåò ìáæß.

DINOS KATSOURIDES (President) Born in Nicosia in 1927. His first (vague) memories include the burning of the British Government House, the curfew after sunset, the British soldiers in their khaki shorts and their wild terrorism. In 1945, he finished the Pancyprian Gymnasium. His parents sent him to Athens to study medicine. He studied his life’s passion: Film. His parents stopped sending him money. In 1950 he won a scholarship for the directing department of the Stavrakos School. His teacher was Gregoris Gregoriou who, at the time, was just starting work on his film “Bitter Bread”. He worked with him as assistant director without being paid. He declared himself a technician, to avoid starvation but also to stay in the industry. He worked (for a starvation wage) on a Spentzos film “I Have Sinned for My Child”, as assistant cameraman and stage photographer. In 1951 he works at FINOS as assistant cameraman. At the beginning he worked as assistant cameraman and assistant editor and immediately after that as editor and later on as director of photography, cameraman and editor at FINOS. He started with “Anni of the Port” and worked on films such as “The Taxi Driver”, “The Jinx”, “Pretty Woman of Athens”, “No Harm Done”, “Golfo”, “The Lover of the Shepherd Girl”, “Barrel-Organs”, “The Midwife”, “We Only Live Once”, “Astero”, “Elias from the 16th”, “Spare the Rod and Spoil the Child” and other. 1959. He resigned from FINOS and started work as a freelancer. In 1960, his first film as director, “Crime Behind the Scenes”, was screened at the First Greek Film Festival of Thessalonica and received two awards. Many others followed. From then on, he worked alternatively as photographer, director and editor: “Antigone” by Tzavellas, “God Save the Young” by Sakellarios, “Mister Wing Commander”, “Mayhem”, “The Ruthless”, “Short Break” (his own), “the Great Discord” by Gregoriou, “Jimmy the Tiger” by Voulgaris and many others. April 1967, Dictatorship. In 1968-69, he made (photography-editing) a number of films produced and directed by Thanassis Vengos. In 1970 he made his debut in production with two films directed by himself starring Vengos. In 1971 he shot the anti-war comedy “What Did You Do in the War Thanassis?”. The jury of the Festival granted the film numerous awards. During the next year he shot two more films, “Thanassi Take your Gun” (directed by himself) and “MatchMaking for Anna” by Voulgaris (production and editing). Both films swept the board at the Festival. In 1973 he made another two films. From 1976 until 1982 he made many more films with Vengos. “The Crazy World of Thanassis” was a structured film consisting of seven 12-minute long stories. Two of these were considered by the critics of the time as masterpieces in film anthology. Towards the end of the ‘80s he served on the Board of Directors of the Greek Film Centre and also served three terms as President of the Greek Directors’ Society. In the past 20 years he has been working either as director of photography, editor or co-producer and very often as all of the above at the same time.

ÔASOS BOULMETIS He was born in Istanbul in 1957 and came to Greece in 1964. He studied Physics at the University of Athens and Film & TV Direction and Production at the University of California LA (UCLA), with an Onassis Foundation scholarship. He worked as a professor’s assistant at the same University and after his return to Greece worked as a freelance director and producer for the State TV. He is the co-producer, scriptwriter and director of the feature film "Manufacturing Dreams" which was awarded 8 prizes in Greece and received the Golden Award in the Imaginary Film division at the Houston Festival. Since 1988 he has been directing commercials in Greece and abroad and has specialised in special effects and 3D & electronic image composition & processing. “A Touch of Spice” is his second feature film, a Village Roadshow production in collaboration with the Greek Film Centre. The film was awarded 8 State awards as well as the public’s award at the Thessalonica Film Festival in 2003 and sold a record of 1.500.000 tickets in Greece, while it has already been sold to 36 countries abroad.

DESPINA MOUZAKI Producer–Director. Degree in Chemistry (University of Patras), Film Directing (Stavrakos Film and Television School), MA in Communications and Film (School of Communications, Boston University), Documentary filmmaking with Richard Leacock and New Media (MIT) and later on Film Finance & Marketing (Media Business School, Spain). She is the director of the films “The King and the Corpse” and “Man Frames”, the short films “Waterside” and “Off Scene” (1985) and the documentary “Mill Girl Follies” (1986). In 1987, she directed (and also co-produced) the documentary “Dario FO in America”, which won the New England Film/Video Fellowship award from the MIT Council for the Arts, sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In 1989 she founded CINEGRAM Film & TV Productions S.A. Since 1994, she has been producing numerous successful feature films, including “Touch Me Not” (1995) by Dimitris Yatzouzakis, which has won both national and international awards and “Peppermint” (1999) by Costas Kapakas, which has received 9 State quality awards by the Ministry of Culture as well as many other awards in international festivals. She has recently co-produced the following international co-productions: the highly awarded film “A Touch of Spice” (2003) by Tasos Boulmetis (8 State quality awards), the long anticipated “Brides” (2004) by Pantelis Voulgaris, “A Tout de Suite” (2004) by Benoit Jacquot, “D’un Village ? l’Autre” by Costas Natsis (2004), “Borrowed Bride” (2004) by Atif Yilmaz and “Is God a Chef?” (2004) by Stergios Niziris. In 1998, she was appointed Vice President of the Greek Film Centre by the Minister of Culture. She is also member of the European Film Academy and of the BoD of PROMEDIA and national co-ordinator of the European educational programme for producers EAVE EUROPE AUDIOVISUAL. In October 2002, she was elected President of the Association of Greek Independent Audiovisual Producers (SAPOE). Since 2005, she is the Artistic Director of the Thessalonica International Film Festival.

CHRISTOS GEORGIOU Christos Georgiou was born in London U.K. in 1966. He completed his basic education in Cyprus and pursued further studies in England and Poland. He has directed 4 award winning short films and one feature film, “Under the Stars”, which won 6 international awards including the prestigious Prix de Montreal (Best First Feature Film) at the Montreal International Film Festival of 2001. He works as a Writer/Director for film and television in England, Greece and Cyprus, on commercials, documentaries and dramas. He is now preparing to shoot his second feature film “Small Crime” in May 2007.

YIANNIS ECONOMIDES He was born in Limassol in 1967 and studied Film in Athens. He has directed several short films and documentaries, most of which were awarded in a number of festivals. These include the documentaries “Good morning Night” (1990), “Just Smelling the Jasmine” (1994) and “The Life you Hoped For” (1995) and the short film “Gradual Improvement in the Weather” (1992). He made his feature film debut in 2003 with the film “Matchbox”. “Soul Kicking” is his second feature film. The film was selected for screening at the 45th International Critics Week at Cannes 2006, at the 11th Pusan International Film Festival and at the 42nd Chicago International Film Festival.

According to an 18th century traveler, the bread of Cyprus was not only of exceptional quality, but also the best to be found in the entire Levant. For the inhabitants of the island, however, it was something even more important: it was their daily staple, necessary for survival. The long road leading from wheat to bread is the path followed by this film.

On his return from the mountain, where he went with his friend Elia, Petros is happy. He holds in his hands a rare flower which, by then, no one knew existed in Cyprus. He had been searching for it for years on the slopes of Troodos Mountain. His dream was to name it “Mersinis Cyprius”. On his way home, lost in his thoughts, he is hit by a car while crossing the street. The flower remains there and is crashed by a coming lorry. Inside the lorry there is the first cargo of flowers, imported from China, named “Mersinis China”.

F. that explores the concept of the “self”. The door to our subconscious opens. During her studies, Constantina Daina worked for the professional television industry. She has worked on American national advertisements and also for a couple of American television stations. For the last two years she has been teaching Film Production at the University of Miami. Some of her films have been screened in many Film Festivals in the US. Her film “Trapped Inside” has won awards in two film festival competitions in USA. He loves music, poetry and photography. He was a piano soloist at seminars of piano aesthetics, has published two poetic collections and received awards at photo competitions in Cyprus. During his studies in Athens he attended seminars in the History of Art and the Evolution of Cinematography. In 2005-06 he graduated from the University of Exeter and received his MA in Film Studies. In 2002 he completed “Shootout”, his first experimental feature film (cinemascope). He is now working on his second feature film “Dinner With My Sisters”. In autumn he will direct the film “The Diploma” on Michael Powel’s screenplay in collaboration with the Poseidon Film Distributors company of London.

After winning a Fulbright scholarship, he went to the United States to study theory and composition. He graduated Magna cum Laude and received the Ming Prize (a scholarship for the best composer). He then obtained a Master’s Degree in Composition from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y. where he studied Film Scoring as a scholarship student. Costas has won the BMI and GWUC composition contests and was honored with the IEIEE Prize in Electronics. From ’94 to ’98 he was the Musical Director of “Diastasis”. Pambos Kouzalis was born in Nicosia in 1964. He studied Archeology and History of Art at Athens University. Since 1998 he teaches Greek literature in public schools. Many of his lyrics have been set to music by Costas Cacogiannis and were featured in a number of theatrical productions and TV series for CyBC, ANT1 and Sigma. His poems have been featured in several poetry anthologies and literature magazines in Cyprus and abroad. In September 2003, he published his first poetry anthology “Graptos Logos”. He is also the scriptwriter of two TV films broadcast by CyBC in 2003.

Eight-year old Demetra’s obsession with Nefeli, her plastic doll, leads her to create an imaginary character. She paints red and black spots on Nefeli’s small body, just like the ones hiding in her own body. The marks are painted by themselves and nobody is to blame other than Demetra, because she is a bad child. Tonight, the return to the “dollhouse” will be difficult, since a cruel punishment is waiting for her at the threshold. The film is dedicated to those who have spoken, but mostly to those who haven’t managed to do it yet.

Television violence leads to a cruel game inside DOG’s house. Ironically, at the same time, DOG tries helplessly to find a solution to his insomnia through religious TV programming.

Nicos Synnos is an animator, director / producer from Cyprus. He studied visual communication and cartoon imagery animation in the UK and the USA. He has animated and directed several episodes of cartoon TV series in the UK and worked as an animator and layout artist in New York, including MTV Animation. He established “toonachunks”, a cartoon & experimental animation studio based in Limassol, Cyprus. He has produced and directed five experimental animated S.F.s and several animated TV commercials.

F.s “The Wake and Seizures” won prizes and have been screened at various film festivals around the world. They have been acquired by the largest internet based film distribution company, “Hypnotic”. The tetralogy oscillates between narrative politics, raw archive documentary and the experimental with purposeful “home-made” video and montage effect. An alternative artist's version, these four films were a reaction to tourist clips advertising holidaying in Cyprus, giving a glossy cliche of “the island of love”.

The couple is preparing breakfast in their patio when the husband’s ex-lover appears in his estate together with their illegitimate daughter. As he is trying to get rid of his lover, he can’t help but notice his daughter. That one look transforms his anger and turns it into a new emotion that could endanger his whole existence.

The movie follows visually the effort of a child to learn to recite correctly a popular children’s poem passed on from generation to generation in different versions. Old toys and heroes from illustrated fairytales are used as models for the drawings in the animation.

She then studied Graphic Design at TEI of Athens and was an IKY scholar. She also received training in 3D Games Development at CIANT/FAMU in Prague. Her work has been presented in International Animation Festivals and Art Exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad. In 2005 she represented Cyprus at the Venice Biennale 51st International Art Exhibition with two animated movies. She lives and works in Limassol. Jordan is an old tailor sitting in his deserted shop reminiscing the old times. Suddenly, Maria shows up. She is interested in making a documentary on his life, and this lights up his dull existence. His life has a meaning again. Like a dusty doll that is brought back to life, he starts playing the role of the tailor, the only role he has ever played in his life. Soon, a deeply human relationship develops between them.

On the contrary, he shows no interest in their relationship and cheats her with another woman. When Nedi finds out she tries to fill the emotional gap by seeking a one night stand. Next to their flat lives a middle age couple, also going through a crisis. Their relationship seems to be coming to an end. Two parallel, everyday stories which develop and end tragically.

Apart from the difficulties they face within their new environment, they also enjoy new opportunities. The video explores such questions as how do migrants configure home, place and belonging and the social and legal impositions that define them. How do they construct home away from home? The video draws a portrait of an anonymous young lady from West Africa living in Nicosia.

No Entry” is about football in all its glory - no borders no enemies, just pure, clean fun and a love of the game. Two opposing teams, two opposing armies, come together under the watchful eye of a buffer zone, to play football, uniting color and race, politics and religion. And in the end - there is no end - hope remains when all else is lost. Filming took place in Nicosia near the buffer zone area.

Spyros Plati recently worked on setting up “CyprusDirectTV” here in Cyprus which is being broadcasted on SKY TV, UK. He is also busy trying to promote his latest feature film “Nous” and his current script “Invert”. Having worked on commercials here in Cyprus and S.F.s in the USA and Cyprus, he feels ready to jump into a large production that could bring the film community closer to Cyprus.

The underwater world does not resemble the one of our dreams, but still the element of water can turn one of man’s biggest dreams into reality. The water world allows man to overcome the law of gravity and be suspended in the water the same way birds can be suspended in the air. The interpretation of a word defines the image that will be projected in our minds when hearing it. Flying and swimming consist of an identical process.

This is only until a handsome old man from Greece, Manolis, moves into the house between them. But something goes terribly wrong and all three end up in police custody.

Ïé öùôïãñáößåò, áöïý ôõðþèçêáí, ìåôáöÝñèçêáí óå çëåêôñïíéêü õðïëïãéóôÞ üðïõ ÷ïñïãñáöÞèçêáí óå ôáéíßá. An experimental presentation portraying the creation of the sculpture park in Limassol. The film shows the 3rd symposium which took part in summer 2000. The film was made using a 35 MM still photography film camera. The photographs were then printed and scanned before choreographed into the moving image.

Nicos Synnos is an animator, director/producer from Cyprus. He studied visual communication and cartoon imagery animation in the UK and the US. He has animated and directed several episodes of cartoon TV series in the UK and worked as an animator and layout artist in New York, including MTV Animation. He established “toonachunks”, a cartoon & experimental animation studio based in Limassol, Cyprus. He has produced and directed five experimental animated short films and several animated TV commercials.

BABIS VENETOPOULOS Artist, founder - member of MDA, Art and Animation Director. He is the director of the awarded series 776 B.C. (ÁNIMAMUNDI 2002 - 3rd Best Portfolio) and of several animation and commercial productions. He has participated in many art exhibitions and festivals in Greece and abroad. He has worked as a comic strips teacher in “Praxis” private Studio. He is a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts (with scholarship, having the highest grades in his class) with an MA in Digital Forms of Art. He is also a graduate of the School of Fine Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (with honours), and he holds a diploma in Interior Design (IEK Delta of Thessaloniki) and a Diploma of Art & Design from the South Manchester College.

ÃÉÙÑÃÏÓ ÂÅÍÅÔÏÐÏÕËÏÓ Çëåêôñïíéêüò - ÐñïãñáììáôéóôÞò, éäñõôéêü ìÝëïò ôçò MDA. Åßíáé ï õðåýèõíïò ãéá ôá èÝìáôá Ýñåõíáò êáé áíÜðôõîçò ëïãéóìéêïý êáé ôçò ôå÷íéêÞò êáé äéêôõáêÞò ïñãÜíùóçò ôçò MDA. ¸÷åé åñãáóôåß ãéá ôçí äçìéïõñãßá âïçèçôéêïý ëïãéóìéêïý êáèþò êáé ùò ôå÷íéêüò äéåõèõíôÞò óå ðïëëÝò ðáñáãùãÝò êéíïõìÝíùí ó÷åäßùí. Åðßóçò Ý÷åé áíáðôýîåé ðïëëÝò äéáäéêôõáêÝò êáé ðïëõìåóéêÝò åöáñìïãÝò. ¸÷åé óõììåôÜó÷åé óå ðïëëÝò åêèÝóåéò ôÝ÷íçò ðáñÝ÷ïíôáò ôå÷íéêÞ õðïóôÞñéîç. ¸÷åé åñãáóèåß óå ôìÞìáôá ìç÷áíïñãÜíùóçò åôáéñéþí êáé åðßóçò ùò êáèçãçôÞò óôç ó÷ïëÞ êüìéêò "ÐñÜîéò". ¸÷åé óðïõäÜóåé óôï ÔÅÉ Èåóóáëïíßêçò, ÔìÞìá ÇëåêôñïíéêÞò êáé åßíáé êÜôï÷ïò ðôõ÷ßïõ Åöáñìïãþí ÐëçñïöïñéêÞò, ÉÅÊ ÄÝëôá Èåóóáëïíßêçò.

GEORGE VENETOPOULOS Electronic Engineer - Programmer, founder - member of MDA, Technical Director. He is responsible for the software, hardware and networks concerning MDA. He has worked as a technical director and has created supporting software for many animation productions. He has developed many internet and multimedia applications. He has been technical supporter for many art exhibitions. He has worked in Information Technology Departments of several companies and also as a comic strips teacher in “Praxis” private Studio. He has studied Electronic Engineering in TEI of Thessaloniki, Department of Electronics and he has a Diploma in Computer and Information Technology in IEK Delta of Thessaloniki.

ÐÁÍÏÓ ÎÅÍÁÊÇÓ Åéêáóôéêüò - Ãëýðôçò. Åßíáé õðåýèõíïò ôïõ äçìéïõñãéêïý ôìÞìáôïò ôçò MDA. ¸÷åé êÜíåé ìáêñï÷ñüíéá Ýñåõíá êáé åöáñìïãÞ óôïí ÷þñï ôùí åéäéêþí åöÝ (SFX) ãéá ëïãáñéáóìü ôçëåïðôéêþí êáé êéíçìáôïãñáöéêþí ðáñáãùãþí. ¸÷åé åñãáóôåß óå ðïëëÝò ðáñáãùãÝò ôñéóäéÜóôáôïõ êéíïõìÝíïõ ó÷åäßïõ. Åðßóçò Ý÷åé åñãáóôåß ùò êáèçãçôÞò åëåõèÝñïõ ó÷åäßïõ óôï ÊÝíôñï Ôå÷íþí ÐëÜêá, ãéá ôçí ðñïåôïéìáóßá õðïøÞöéùí óðïõäáóôþí ãéá ôçí Á.Ó.Ê.Ô. ¹ôáí õðåýèõíïò ãéá ôçí ôñéóäéÜóôáôç öùôïñåáëéóôéêÞ áðåéêüíéóç êôéñßùí óôçí áñ÷éôåêôïíéêÞ åôáéñßá «Áñ÷éôåêôïíïöéëßá». ¸÷åé óõììåôÜó÷åé óå ðïëëÝò ïìáäéêÝò åêèÝóåéò ôÝ÷íçò êáé projects. ¸÷åé óðïõäÜóåé óôçí ÁíùôÜôç Ó÷ïëÞ Êáëþí Ôå÷íþí Áèçíþí.

PANOS XENAKIS Artist - Sculptor member of MDA, Art Director. He has worked for many years in research and creation of special effects (SFX) for several TV and cinema productions. He has worked in many 3D animation productions. He has also worked as a free sketch teacher in “Plaka” Art Studio, preparing students for the exams of the School of Fine Arts. He worked for the architecture company “Architectonofilia” in 3D photorealistic building presentations. He has participated in many group art exhibitions and projects. He has studied in the Athens School of Fine Arts.
