SCS CELEBRATES 30TH ANNIVERSARY

Southtowns Catholic School celebrated it's 30th Anniversary with a photo of all the students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. In 1983, St. Vincent de Paul & OLPH schools consolidated and Southtowns Catholic School was born. On September 1, 2011, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and St. Vincent de Paul Church merged into Blessed John Paul II Parish. Southtowns Catholic School then became the parish school of Blessed John Paul II Parish with the pastor as Canonical Administrator. SCS looks forward to celebrating the next 30 years with our community. THE BOOMERS TO FINISH ANGOLA GAZEBO CONCERT SERIES

The final concert of the 31st year of Wednesday evening concerts at the Gazebo in Angola’s Centennial Park will open at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28th. The well known Buffalo area four piece group called the Boomers, under the direction of Judd Sunshine of Sunshine Productions, will present the concert. They promise a terrific mix of ballads to blues from the 50’s and up. The evening is sponsored by the Angola Park & Gazebo Committee as a “thank you” to the community and support of the concert series over the past 31 years. Refreshments are sold at the park by the Brant Evans Girl Scouts. The ice cream man continues to make a stop at the park each week. Handicapped parking is available off Center and High Streets for early arrivals. The rain location for all of the concerts will continue to the nearby New Angola Theater on North Main Street. Bring a folding chair or a blanket and enjoy the evening. Contributed by William Houston __________
