MOUNTAIN IMPROVEMENTS Each ski season shapes up differently with varying storm tracks and snowfall, and to aid in product consistency this season, we are excited to announce the addition of two brand new Piston Bully Snowcats! We have excellent grooming and snowmaking systems to ensure the skiing surface is predictably smooth and silky. So powder days or not, you can always count on scoring some primo corduroy. We have also been widening areas on some of the more popular slopes, such as Headin’ Home and Highway, to reduce traffic congestion and, ultimately, give our skiers and boarders a better experience on the mountain. Guests heading down the mountain will also notice the recently added log wayfinders that utilize rustic charm and functionality in guiding them down quicker to enjoy that hot chocolate or grab the next chair back up.

WHAT’S NEW and Noteworthy 50TH CELEBRATION Angel Fire Resort will mark its 50th anniversary in January. Paying tribute to the resort’s legendary pedigree and world-class mountain, this celebration is not to be missed. On January 19th, Angel Fire Resort will be starting its celebration with a cocktail welcome party and featuring selected pieces displayed showing our rich history over the last 50 years. Angel Fire Resort, known for highlighting its stunning natural surroundings, has always perpetuated a distinct sense of environment and nature, both in design and service. The celebration will end on the 21st with a spectacular fireworks show and live music to round out a fun-filled weekend and celebration of our past, as we look forward to the future.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT MEET MARK AND JENNIFER FITCH

In 2004 Mark and Jennifer Fitch won a trip to Angel Fire, New Mexico. They had never visited Angel Fire and as they traveled the curvy road from Taos, they questioned what they were in for. As they arrived in the valley, it was love at first sight! On that trip they purchased a timeshare, later land and this past year purchased a home and became year round residents. Mark retired from the Army as a Colonel TCM-EOD (aka Bomb Squad) in April and Jennifer opened Angel Fire Chiropractic. Along with their two children, Kaelyn and Jackson, they love the small town environment in the mountains. The Fitches are highly involved in the community serving in the Chamber, PTA, Cub Scouts, United Church, Garden Club and the Veteran’s Healing and Wellness. In their spare time Mark and Jennifer enjoyed taking the children to golf and tennis lessons and are looking forward to hitting the mountain for a few runs once it opens.
