hanks to our hardworking Mountain Operations team this winter, the slopes were snowy and groomed right up until March 19th. A big thank you to all of our Members that celebrated with us during our 50th anniversary in January, as well as those who made this year’s Member Winter Weekend so special. From moonlight dining and skiing to holiday dinners and concerts, we enjoyed a wonderful variety of member socials throughout the season.

Now, as the sun shines and temperatures rise, it’s time to shift gears into summer mode with the kickoff of the annual Platinum Tournament on May 17th. Member Spotlight: MEET THE HENSELS Steve and Patty Hensel visited Angel Fire in 2001 after being invited by a colleague for a closer ski getaway. The Hensels are avid skiers and had been traveling to CO each year, never having heard of our quaint mountain town in NM. On their first visit, Steve and Patty fell in love with Angel Fire and purchased a home. They taught their two daughters, Amber and Lauren, how to ski in Angel Fire. From then on, Angel Fire took a special place in their lives. Nowadays, Amber is a happily married nurse (husband Jesse proposed in Angel Fire) and Lauren is a pilot based out of Corpus Christi, TX. Steve is an anesthesiologist in Dallas and Patty is a recently published cookbook author and party hostess extraordinaire. When asked what the couple enjoys most about Angel Fire they both agreed that the people, social activities and stress-free lifestyle top their list. “Each time I drive over the hill into Eagle Nest I feel the calmness; the stress of work and the city just disappear,” explained Steve. This summer you will see the Hensels at the golf course and at social activities. They have even graciously agreed to host one of the private dinners at the Angel Fire Food and Wine Roundup in August.

hanks to our hardworking Mountain Operations team this winter, the slopes were snowy and groomed right up until March 19th. A big thank you to all of our Members that celebrated with us during our 50th anniversary in January, as well as those who made this year’s Member Winter Weekend so special. From moonlight dining and skiing to holiday dinners and concerts, we enjoyed a wonderful variety of member socials throughout the season.

Now, as the sun shines and temperatures rise, it’s time to shift gears into summer mode with the kickoff of the annual Platinum Tournament on May 17th. Be sure to register your 4-person team and enjoy a beautiful day of greens, great food, and member appreciation. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for upcoming Special Events like the return of Cool Summer Nights, golf and tennis tournaments, and of course, the new Angel Fire Food and Wine Roundup in August!
