Hunter Key Club Editor’s Message: Last year at the Leadership Training Conference, I was asked what my favorite season was. I said Fall, not because of the pumpkin spiced lattes but because Fall is the season where we welcome new Key Club members to our family. For the many new additions that are still confuse about what Key Club is and how this organization works, I hope to explain the Key Club through this Newsletter. ~Angela Li

“Key Club has become a part of my life and a part of who I am. Going to projects or events doesn’t only mean volunteering and getting service hours; it’s about helping the community. Yes, we’re only high schoolers and can’t contribute financially to improve our community but spending a little time each week or month to work with organizations that help the general welfare is enough.” ~Crystal Liu

Why Did You Join Key Club?

I joined for the variety of community service opportunities and for the free stuff I would get at different events. ~Andy Lok

I joined Key Club in 9th grade because I had just spent a summer doing community service in a soup Kitchen and it was a really great experience. I knew that Key Club was a community service oriented club so I thought I’d give it a try. (And I’m really glad I did because it’s such a fantastic organization!) ~Emily Li

Light the Night Walk “Light the Night Walk! Today, Hunter Key Club volunteered in Hudson River Park's Pier 26 by working with people in the army to register people.

They also handed T-shirts, lanterns, and wristbands to the people participating.� *Sophia Zhang

Several Key Clubbers Participated in RLC (Rescue Leftover Cuisine) where they go around to restaurants and pick up their leftovers to be donated to soup kitchens and homeless shelters.

Districts/Divisions

There are a total of 33 districts. Each district is lead by a District Govenor (Jacob Spencer). Hunter is in the New York District.

Because each district is so large there are smaller divisions within each district. Hunter Key Club is part of Division 11 along with schools like Bronx Science, Stuyvesant, Demitt Clinton, Laguardia, Frank Mccourt Highschool and many more. Each divison has a lieutenant governor. Our division governor is Aaaron Cheung.

Clubs There are more than 5,300 Key Clubs which amounts to more than 265 Key Club members, the number just keep growing.

Each club has it's own board members. Our club president is Sonia Jiang. In order to be an official Key Club member, members have to pay DUES.
