Hunter Key Club Luncheon Â

On December 2nd, 2014, we held our first luncheon of this service year. We raised over $200, which will be going to subsidize for LTC. Hunter Key Club Board would like to thank everyone for bringing food. We had a variety of dishes ranging from pastas to noodles.

We sold most of our food in the first hour! Enjoy some awesome Luncheon posters!

Bell Ringing for Salvation Army

“The Salvation Bell Ringing Event was Fun because we got to meet Key Club alumni such as Terrell and Nicole.

Although the weather was very cold, I realize there are other people who face conditions much worse than this especially during the Holidays. “ ~Sophia Zhang

Many of us spend Christmas Eve at home all bundled up but Key Club members Sophia Zhang and Emily Li braved the cold and helped ring bells for the Salvation Army.

“It was kind of cold but the experience was really great because of all the other people there! Terrell (a past member of the Bronx Science Key Club) visited us and rang bells with us, even though he’s not a Key Club member anymore. “ ~Emily Li

Pediatric Holiday Party At the Metropolitan Community Hospital Â

On a cold windy day, four extremely dedicated Hunter Key Clubbers traveled to the Metropolitan Community Hospital to volunteer at its annual Pediatric Holiday Party. The parents would bring the children to the hospital and perform all different activities such as taking pictures with Santa, receiving gifts, and enjoying goodies. For all this to be possible, key clubbers, along with New York Cares, which is an adult volunteer organization, worked together to make this event possible. The volunteers helped the hospital workers wrap presents according to a color-coded key, where a specific color represented the gender of the child. They also sorted these wrapped presents into boxes, where a specific letter represented different age groups. Goodie bags were also made by the volunteers. When the event started around noon, they also helped Santa give out the gifts. “I really like this event because I enjoyed seeing the children happy with their gifts. It was crazy to see how many people lined up to see Santa and receive gifts,� said Junior Emily Li. ~Sophia Zhang

Member of the Month “I'm so honored to be member of the month! I've been a part of key club for about two years and originally joined because my friend was in it, and went to the meetings only to hear about the events, but over time I realized that Key Club was actually a huge community, and through events and the Divisional Training Conference I became part of that community! I met so many new people, and made a lot of new friends. I love going to events, and I am happy to be part of this amazing, growing organization. I've come to really enjoy the service that I provide to my community.� ~Jespar Chen

Chocolate Sales Â

Hey Guys! We will be starting to sell chocolates again. For those of you who want to go to the Leadership Training Conference in March, you have to sell two boxes of chocolates. Each box contains 48 bars of chocolate with a variety of flavors (coconut custard, white chocolate, peanut butter‌).

Each chocolate bar is $1. Make sure you sell to your friends!
