Brooklyn, New York (August 1, 2012) - Andean Collection, the chic and sustainable accessories brand, has launched the Bedford line, featuring chic designs, a sophisticated color palette and brand new materials. Designed in New York City and handcrafted by Ecuadorean artisans using seeds from the rainforests of South America, as well as alpaca and upcycled bullhorn, Andean Collection’s Bedford Line celebrates the brand’s international locales, drawing inspiration New York City’s cosmopolitan fashion scene and Quito’s romantic colonial neighborhoods. “There’s also an elusive element to The Bedford Line,” says Andean Collection Partner & Director of Business Development, Bria Bergman. “It has a secret. The women wearing this line can be found in the corner of a dusky speakeasy sipping a cocktail. She is playing hard to get. Not saying a word, but letting her accessories speak for themselves.” This romantic sophistication is evident in the Galapagos Necklace (retail $98), a bold reinterpretation of Andean Collection’s best-selling piece, the Tagua Bib. Richly colored, layered tagua chips come together in this statement piece giving it visual depth and smooth texture. The line’s other showcase piece is the two-toned Carmen Cascade ($146), an elegant black and white necklace intended for a night on the town or at the opera house. The contrast of light and dark can also be seen in the line’s handcarved bullhorn cocktail rings ($58), available in four architectural shapes, as well as the delicate bullhorn bangles ($37) and earrings. After leaving the speakeasy, The Bedford woman can bundle up with Andean Collection’s brand new line of luxurious alpaca infinity scarves ($98) and shawls ($145). Exquisitely handloomed and colorblocked in soft hues, the alpaca scarves and shawls are a stylish compliment to fall and winter wardrobes. This look is enhanced with the Audrey Hat ($80), a handcrafted floppy felt hat with ribbon accent, designed to accent a favorite coat or sweater. “Each season we push ourselves to create something different,” says Andean Collection founder Amanda Judge. “We’re particularly excited about The Bedford Line, not only because it includes exciting new designs, but entirely new materials for us. Long time fans of Andean Collection will be pleasantly surprised by our new pieces, and new customers will fall in love with our chic take on sustainable materials.”
