Sarah Flynn Ad Placement & Marketing Manager (602) 261-7655, EXT 112 s.flynn@ananews.com

Arizona Newspapers Association is excited to present our 2022 Media Directory. In the following pages, you will find a full listing of our current member newspapers, online members, and associate members. This directory is designed to allow users to easily access information about our members. Newspapers are listed alphabetically by the city(ies) that they service, first by daily papers and then by the papers that publish with varied frequencies. The online members and associate members are listed next. We also provide a map with listings by county. We do our best to ensure that the information provided is accurate and we work with publishers to have circulation numbers confirmed through a verified source. Information is subject to change so feel free to contact the ANA or the newspaper directly with questions. 2021 has brought complete staffing changes here at the ANA. I joined as the new Executive Director in late April and Sarah came onboard in late November. 2022 will see many new programs coming to the ANA. We are now able to provide full digital solutions for advertisers and are working on other marketing programs. Keep an eye on our website (www.ananews.com) for updates on all of our new initiatives. I would also like to give a HUGE shout out and thank you to Independent NewsMedia for donating the time of Debbie Myers, one of their veteran graphics designers, to help redesign and format this 2022 directory and to Vyto Starinskas for donating the Beautiful photograph to be used on the cover of the directory. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for more information, copies or with questions. Best, Lisa Simpson Executive Director

ANA MEMBER SERVICES & BENEFITS Ad Placement Services

The ANA places ads across the state and across the country with the One Call One Bill system, making it easy to place ads in multiple papers. ANA members can generate additional revenue by participating in this program. Agencies or other advertisers benefit from working with the One Call One Bill system to place their ads all over the state. Our programs include:  AzCAN- Arizona Classified Advertising Network  AzDAN- Arizona Display Advertising Network  Target Arizona- Pre-printed insert delivery program  Political Super Buys  Display Ad Network  Digital Ad Network The ANA encourages its members to place ads with us using the network or taking advantage of our One Call One Bill as a tool when putting together ad campaigns.

ANA Member Newsletter Get the latest news about the ANA and its members in the ANA Member Newsletter. We also include a job section with the latest openings within ANA member newspapers. Have something going on at your paper? Let us know; submissions are always welcome.

Annual Awards

The member newspapers of the ANA participate in the annual Better Newspapers Contest and 44

Excellence in Adverting contest. Independently judged by another press association, these contests celebrate the success and innovations made by our members. The Better Newspapers Contest recognizes overall excellence, individual editorial, and photographic contributions by staff members. The Excellence in Advertising awards acknowledges the hard work done by the business side of newspapers through creative advertising and sales innovations. Included in these Awards is Newspaper of the Year. Points totals are tallied in both categories, and the winner receives this coveted award!

Hall of Fame

The ANA recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the success of newspapers throughout the years and honors them in its Hall of Fame. Individuals can be nominated anytime through a form on our website. A list of Hall of Fame members can be found on the ANA website.

Arizona Newspapers Foundation

The Arizona Newspapers Foundation (ANF) is the 501c3 arm of the ANA. It is dedicated to supporting journalism education and is funded primarily through donations and grants. To pledge support, please reach out directly to our Executive Director, Lisa Simpson, l.simpson@ ananews.com or 602-261-7655 2022 Arizona Media Directory

Conventions and Training The ANA brings together its members every year in the fall to host training seminars, networking sessions, and awards ceremonies. The annual general membership meeting also occurs during our convention, where we vote in new officers and directors.

Legislative and Lobbying

One of the primary roles of the ANA is to serve as the voice of Arizona’s newspapers at the State Capitol. The ANA contracts with a Lobbyist who works proactively to protect the business interests and the First Amendment rights of our papers. Members are encouraged to participate in these conversations and are kept informed with a weekly newsletter and legislative call.

Public Notices

The ANA hosts a database for Public Notices to be published online at www.arizonapublicnotices.com Need more information Go to www.ananews.com for information on contests, ad programs, and more, or check us out on social media to stay updated on the latest ANA news.
