On behalf of the entire Miss Silver Spurs Pageant Committee, Welcome and enjoy the pageant!

JUDGES: I extend a heartfelt thank you for your commitment and for taking time away from your busy schedules and families to assist us. You definitely have a tough job but we are confident that you will select the best from each category to represent the Silver Spurs Rodeo.

CONTESTANTS: I would like to take this opportunity to welcome and thank you for all your hard work in preparing and participating in the pageant.

You are beautiful young ladies and I wish you all the best of luck.

It’s been an honor and pleasure getting to know each and every one of you. I hope you enjoyed the overall experience and will walk away with great memories and new friends. Although only one girl will be crowned, please know you are all winners just having the courage, ambition and determination to participate in this pageant.

PAGEANT COMMITTEE: Thank you for volunteering and sharing your special gifts and talents in helping these young ladies become successful. I’m so proud that you are a part of this team and couldn’t have done it without you.

Your dedication, hard work and friendship mean so much.

CURRENT COURT: To my girls…I would like to give a big thank you to the Miss Silver Spurs 2014-2015 Court- Whitney, Kelly, Maddie, Kassidy, Shelby, Sarah, Brighten, Kenzie and Karlie. It’s been an absolute honor and pleasure to serve with such talented and good hearted young ladies throughout the year. Just when I think we’ve had the best, you came along and made it better. You and your amazing parents dedicated yourselves in keeping the tough schedules and making every event special. You have made my job so much easier and way more fun than ever imagined. I am so proud of each and every one of you for making us all look good.

PARENTS: It is a pleasure to officially welcome you to the pageant family and want you to know that YOU are an important part of the whole pageant process. Those of us involved with the pageant have spent a great deal of time preparing for this week yet we all know the time we have spent pales in comparison to all that you have invested in getting your daughters to this point.

There is no adequate way to express our heartfelt appreciation for all you have done to help your daughter(s) get to this point. The time, effort, energy, (not to mention money) spent in preparation is nearly impossible to calculate. Thank you for providing your daughter with this priceless opportunity to experience her dreams and for allowing us to be a part of the process and share this week with her.

MY FAMILY AND SPURS MEMBERSHIP: Thank you for allowing me the honor of being involved in something so great and rewarding. My compensation and reward is getting to see these girls achieve their dreams and become future leaders of tomorrow.

Ricky” Booth

Master of Ceremonies

Richard S. “Ricky” Booth is 36 years old and a lifelong resident of Osceola County. In 2001 he graduated from the University of Florida. He currently lives and works on his family’s cattle ranch, the Doc Partin Ranch, south of St. Cloud. In addition, Ricky is the founder and manager of the Booth Cattle Co. and Sunshine Ranch Management – and this summer he will dust off his boots as he hits the campaign trail as a candidate for the Osceola County School Board, District 5.

Ricky’s wife Erika is the media specialist at Harmony Community School and together they have 3 children – Nellie (9), Natalie (8), and Thomas (3). Both are Silver Spurs members. Ricky was a member of the quadrille team, has served on the Board of Directors, and was the 2011-12 Big Boss.

His voice work includes rodeo announcer at Kissimmee Sports Arena, emcee of the annual Osceola County Agricultural Legislative Luncheon, and auctioneering livestock sales and charity events.

CJ Brown

Cj Brown from Lake Alfred, Florida has spent the past 40 years in rodeo arenas across this great country.

He currently considers Sales Representative for Lakeland Animal Nutrition his full time job.

When he’s not ranch hopping across the country you will find him on the road with Sankey Rodeo Schools where he has the awesome job of Bull Riding coach and motivational speaker. In between rodeo schools you will find him working pro rodeos for Klein Bros Prorodeo as their Chute Boss or working for Pro Roughstock Series as Livestock Boss.

When he does find some downtime you will find him at home with his wife and best friend Judy, either bucking some bulls for some of Florida’s future talent or building rodeo gear in their Saddle Shop.

LeAnne McKendree-John LeAnne McKendree-John has been married to Alan John for 12 years.

They have two beautiful children, Austin – 9 and Ethan – 7 with the whole family active in Pasco Counties 4-H programs. LeAnne is an Outback 4-H Club Leader and the kid’s are 4-H Members and both serve in the Pasco County Jr. Cattlemen’s Association.

LeAnne is a School Teacher, specializing in Science Resource and is very active in her community serving as the Pasco County Fair Association President and the Pasco County Fair Championship Rodeo Chairwoman.

LeAnne is no stranger to the rodeo queen world as she had the honor of serving as your Miss Rodeo Florida 1999 and still uses her experience supporting local rodeo queens as they prepare for competition.

He thanks God every day for such a blessed life and is always compelled to pass it on to those around him.

Ty Fitzgerald

Ty Fitzgerald is from Memphis, TN and was the former 2011 Miss Rodeo Tennessee.

After graduating from Rossville Christian Academy, Ty went on to attend The University of Tennessee at Martin to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business. While attending Martin and maintaining a full course load, Ty was an active participant with the Martin Rodeo Team in barrel racing her sophomore year, and then went on to compete for the Miss Rodeo Tennessee Title her junior year. After being crowned Miss Rodeo Tennessee, Ty went to Las Vegas to compete for the Miss Rodeo America title in December of 2011. She won Miss Congeniality and was a Top Ten Finalist.

After completing her competition in Las Vegas, Ty was also awarded an Internship with Helena Chemical Company, which she completed after her reign. If she had it her way, she would work with farmers all day and have cattle ranch!

In an effort to continue to be a part of rodeo and the western lifestyle, Ty accepted a full time position with the Dallas Market Center in January of 2014: All thanks to one of her judges at Miss Rodeo America- Bill Winsor (President & CEO of Dallas Market Center). Ty is a Marketing Manager and Assistant Western Leasing Director for the Dallas Market Center. Ty has also been an integral part in helping the Dallas Market Center partner with the Miss Rodeo America organization. In March of 2014, Miss Rodeo America moved their annual Pageant Seminar to the Dallas Market Center. She continues to strengthen her ties to the western community by mentoring and supporting young ladies who wish to compete and pursue a future with local and national pageants.

JUNIOR MISS SILVER SPURS 2014 Kassidy Cabot

Kassidy Cabot is the 13 year old daughter of Eric and Jenny Cabot of St. Cloud, Florida.

She is a straight “A” student, currently a seventh grader and attending St. Cloud Middle School.

Association and will be competing in her first state level barrel race in June.

Kassidy was excited to be the first Junior Miss Silver Spurs in our Silver Spurs Rodeo History. She enjoyed spending the year traveling throughout Central Florida representing the Silver Spurs Riding Club and promoting Osceola County and the great sport of rodeo.

Kassidy volunteers with “Pawsitive Action” training Service Dogs and with “Gods Greys” which is a Grey Hound rescue team. Her passion is barrel racing with her horse “Blondie” and her goal is to one day become Miss Rodeo America and an equine rehabilitation therapist. When she is not volunteering or with her horse, Kassidy goes to Chess Club, her Church Youth Group and she enjoys Cheerleading, Gymnastics and Surfing. She is also a member of All Florida Junior Rodeo and the National Barrel Horse

FAREWELL FROM KASSIDY Well, it’s that time of year again!

I’ll give you a hint--a bunch of girls running around like crazies, dressing and undressing, moms telling us “stop fidgeting, don’t blink and don’t get dirty”. Yes, it’s pageant time! It brings about more feelings than I can ever express. Being crowned Junior Miss Silver Spurs has given me the most amazing year of my life. I have learned and grown so much throughout this year and acquired new skills, which will carry me for years to come. I have been involved in the Silver Spurs Pageant court for about three years now, and being a spokeswoman for this prestigious program has opened doors for me, which previously would not have been possible. Although there were some unhappy things I had to face, like that ugly zit on my face during my first rodeo experience, the happy times and positive lessons learned far exceeded them.

To Mark and Laura, the encouragement and empowerment you provided were truly a blessing. God placed you in my path to guide me through these wild years by your example.

You showed me your strength and faithfulness to the program, your family and most of all God. You taught me to have a sense of humor when things don’t go my way.

Also, my beautiful sister queens, Whitney and Brighton and your families, I could never hope for a better support system. I’m sure you’ll agree we all learned NEVER let my mom choose the place to eat and always bring sunscreen.

To the rest of the courts, I have truly enjoyed going to all the events and getting to know you.

As for my successor, Girl, you’re in for an adventure!! You have an extraordinary family and team at your disposal--trust them and you can’t go wrong! Most important, go to as many events as possible and have a blast.

I have so many people to thank for their help on my journey and I know I will probably leave someone out, but please know you are all in my heart. First, and most importantly, my family. Mom, you have been my biggest supporter on this roller coaster ride. You have attended every event and given your all to this program. Without your support I doubt I would have ever reached outside of my comfort zone to participate.

Dad, you always made me feel like a queen by telling me I looked beautiful--even on those bad hair days. Thanks for being my on call roadie!! Roots and Boots

Most days her boots get dirty in the crop fields, but this past year, there was a good chance you’d catch Brighten in some “come to town” boots along with a sash, buckle, cowboy hat and crown.

Little Miss Silver Spurs 2014, Brighten Mick is the ten year old daughter of Lyndsye and Aaron Mick of Kissimmee. She just completed fourth grade and is homeschooled. Her siblings are Massyn, Reece, Renner, Settler, Holledyr and Sevyn.

Along with her family, Brighten works hard farming their fields supporting agriculture and healthy living in Osceola County. She is actively involved in 4H showing hogs, sewing projects and citrus trees. In her spare time, Brighten enjoys dancing, riding horses, making crafts, sewing and drinking some good ole chocolate milkshakes.

Brighten enjoyed representing the Silver Spurs Riding Club whether it was on top of the big blue boot, on horseback in parades or at elementary schools educating kids on the sport of rodeo.

Meeting professional cowboys and cowgirls at the Champions Challenge and the RNCFR were two of many exciting events that Brighten got to attend during her reign. One of Brighten’s favorite opportunities was when she got to meet Miss Rodeo America and the state queens that traveled to the Silver Spurs Rodeo in February.

Her boots were busy but they were in good company, too. Brighten and her LMSS Court, Mackenzie Garmany and Karlie Heaberlin had good times and giggles wherever they went. Roots of some lifelong friendships were planted.

Long after the boots are worn out and the britches too small, Brighten’s memories will hold steadfast in the roots that she planted as Little Miss Silver Spurs 2014.
