Aaah le printemps ! Le ski plaisir, le parfum de crème solaire, les journées qui s’allongent et les après-skis aussi… en terrasse sur les sommets ou en station, le printemps au ski c’est un peu de bonheur précieux, comme logé au cœur d’un écrin mais qu’on aime partager avec tous ceux qui nous entourent et qui sont là pour ça… Marier l’hiver à l’été c’est ça la magie du printemps, une communion tellement improbable qu’elle en devient culte. Alors, on enneige la rue pour alimenter ce décalage et le centre station devient un snow-parc pour la Jib Session, ou encore on invente une discothèque géante à ciel ouvert, où DJs anglais et français se livrent ‘’Battle’’ pour le SoundClash et c’est encore plus fou d’aller disposer des espaces Zen en bas des pistes pour plus de détente… avant de se projeter dans un Enduro des 3 Vallées qui vous provoquera en 8

duel, le tout entrecoupé de concerts, descentes en luge, spectacles enfants et déambulations en tout genre pour bien vous assurer que la montagne est une fête perpétuelle et que vous avez raison d’en profiter jusqu’au bout. Car c’est là que déjà, indiciblement, s’insinue le verdoiement annoncé qui tend à nous faire réaliser que c’est sur deux roues que nous allons continuer à profiter de l'immense terrain de jeux qu’est cette merveilleuse vallée… Hiver comme été, ce terrain de jeux est sans limite, incroyable de diversité, de possibilités et plein de promesses encore à venir. De ce fait, l’intersaison n’est plus une période de fermeture mais bien de relâche. Pour les amateurs de Vtt, Cyclo, il est possible de venir rouler, électrique ou pas, sur le col de la Loze, le Bike Parc, de trouver une épicerie ouverte aux Allues, un Office du Tourisme, de quoi s’héberger, au plus près des habitants et de partager quelques moments authentiques. Quelques mois de préparation aussi, afin de finaliser les énormes projets qui arrivent en dévalant la pente, droit sur nous et voilà que l’été démarre en trombe… Un programme incroyable, avec les semaines à thèmes qui vous accompagnent tout l’été en vous proposant des activités telles que

Zen, Art, Astronomie et Outdoor. Des Animations sportives chaque jour de la saison, une programmation de spectacles pour enfants et tous publics, des moments à partager en famille ou entre amis, des événements tous les week-ends. Une Arrivée du Tour de France au sommet du Col de la Loze et un départ de l’Altiport, les 15 et 16 juillet, autant annoncer une semaine de folie entre le 11 et le 18 juillet, avec la fête nationale au milieu, dans une station surpeuplée de passionnés de la petite reine… Le Salon Alpes Home édition 2020, les 24, 25 et 26 juillet, La Fête à Fanfoué les 1er et 2 août, Le Méribel Trail les 8 et 9 août, La MéribeLoze le 15 août, Le Pro Am de Golf du 17 au 21 août, La Maxi Avalanche les 21, 22 et 23 août… Aucune place pour l’ennui ou le farniente, à part si vous l’avez décidé… Une dynamique lancée par les différents services qui travaillent à l’année au développement de cette vallée qui n’a pas fini de faire rêver… et d’ores et déjà, sur le prochain Opening, rendez-vous le 5 décembre 2020 pour la 2e édition de Méribel In Light, qui nous ouvrira la route vers de nouvelles aventures.

Tout pour les jeunes skieurs À Méribel, les familles vont adorer le domaine skiable qui offre de nombreuses possibilités pour les enfants, notamment dans les espaces Family Cool. Les plus jeunes ont rendez-vous au Yéti Park avec au menu gongs à taper, moulins à prières, trompettes himalayennes, slalom filmé, grotte, tunnel, tyrolienne, luge… Quant aux jeunes freestyleurs, direction l’Element Park en haut du télésiège Legends. Une mini zone permet de jouer comme un freestyleur sans risquer de se blesser.

Everything for young skiers: Families will adore the ski resort at Méribel, which offers many opportunities for youngsters, especially in the special “Family Cool” areas. For the youngest, the Yéti Park, with its gongs, prayer wheels, tambourines, Himalayan trumpets, films about slalom, cave, tunnel, sledging and a Zipline. As for young freestylers the Element Park offers a mini zone where they can practice without getting hurt, situated just beyond the Legends cable car.

Всё для юных лыжников: Мерибеле семьям предлагаются многочисленные возможности для детей, а именно зона «Family Cool». Самых маленьких ждут в Йети парке, где они найдут гонги, в которые можно ударить, молитвенные барабаны, гималайские трубы, слалом с видеозаписью, пещеру, туннель, троллей, санную трассу... Для молодых фристайлистов есть «Element Park», который находится у верхней станции подъёмника Legends. Мини зона позволяет кататься как фристайлист, но без риска пораниться.

Le trail aussi en hiver En hiver aussi on peut courir et sentir la neige crisser sous les baskets, avec 25km de sentiers balisés sur le domaine. Après le Yooni Moon Trail de février, les compétiteurs ont rendez-vous le dimanche 12 avril pour le Défi de l'Olympe organisé par Méribel Sport Montagne et le Club des Sports de Méribel. Ce défi de 6h consiste à réaliser le plus grand nombre de montées sèches et chronométrées dans les gorges, au départ de Brides-les-Bains jusqu'au centre des Allues-Méribel. Running, with the sound of crisp snow under your shoes, can also be a pleasure in winter and with marked trails of over 25 kms, it’s more than possible. After the Yooni Moon Trail in February, competitors will meet for the Olympus Challenge which takes place on Sunday the 12th of April, organised by the Méribel Mountain Sport Club and the Méribel Sports Club. This 6-hour challenge consists of completing as many steep climbs in the gorges, starting at Brides-les-Bains, right in the centre of the Allues-Méribel. Retour aux sources pour Geoffroy Munier, fils de Daniel et Nathalie, créateurs du concept store Turbulence dans les années 80, avec un nouvel univers, le concept DEUS EX MACHINA, né à Sydney autour de l’univers de moto et de la glisse. Ce pop-up store est le premier en montagne, c’est à la fois un bar à cocktails avec ou sans alcool (une mention particulière pour le Moscow Mule, nous l’avons testé pour vous ! ) et une boutique confidentielle de vêtements ainsi qu’une gamme de snowboards japonais au 1er étage.

Back to the roots for Geoffroy Munier, son of Daniel and Nathalie, creators of the Turbulence concept store in the 80s, with a new universe, the DEUS EX MACHINA concept, born in Sydney around the world of motorcycling and surfing. This pop-up store is the first one in the mountains, it is both a cocktail bar with or without alcohol (a special mention for the Moscow Mule, we tested it for you!) and a confidential clothing shop as well as a range of Japanese snowboards on the 1st floor.

Diminuer l’impact sur l’environnement Plusieurs acteurs du domaine réalisent des investissements et innovations technologiques, afin d’améliorer les conditions de ski, tout en diminuant l’impact de l’homme sur la montagne et l’environnement. La S3V a notamment mis en place pour ses nouvelles remontées mécaniques des moteurs asynchrones afin de limiter la consommation. Quant à la société Méribel Alpina, elle utilise de l’électricité française 100% renouvelable.

Reducing the impact on the environment: everal participants from the resort have started investing in innovative technologies in order to improve skiing conditions, while reducing human impact in the mountains and the local environment. In particular, the S3V has invested in induction motors which use less electricity for its new ski-lifts. As for the Méribel Alpina, it runs on 100% renewable French electricity.

Un nouveau centre pour Méribel

Une ouverture en lumière Méribel a ouvert ses pistes le samedi 7 décembre. Une ouverture fêtée en grande pompe, avec de nombreuses animations en journée et une belle soirée en aprèsski. Le groupe Light Balance a illuminé le front de neige de Mottaret à l'occasion d'un show de danse exceptionnel. Le show a associé danse et nouvelles technologies pour un rendu stupéfiant... une performance aussi visuelle que dynamique, suivie d'un gigantesque show laser avec DJ. A show of bright lights for the opening: Méribel opened its slopes to the public on Saturday the 7th of December. An opening done in style with lots of entertainment during the day and a beautiful evening after-ski. The group “Light Balance” lit up the snow front at Motteret with an exceptional show, mixing dance with modern technology. A performance as visual as dynamic, followed by a gigantic laser show and DJ. Световое шоу на открытии трасс : ткрытие трасс в Мерибеле прошло в субботу 7.12. Это был настоящий праздник: днем прошли многочисленные мероприятия, а вечером было шоу. Группа Light Balance осветила район рядом с трассами в Моттаре во время проведения танцевального шоу. В этом спектакле соединились танцы и новые технологии, и получилось зрелищное и динамичное выступление, за которым следовало гигантское лазерное шоу с ди-джеем.

La municipalité envisage de requalifier le centre de Méribel. La réflexion porte notamment sur l’organisation des commerces, la création d’une place publique, le développement de l’après-ski, la priorité pour les piétons sur le rond-point de la Chaudanne, la création de points de vue… Le scénario de développement retenu par le conseil municipal est présenté à travers des expositions à l'office du tourisme, à la mairie et au Parc Olympique. A new town centre for Méribel: The municipality of Méribel is planning on re-organising its town centre by creating a new public square, developing after-ski entertainment, the priority for pedestrians at the Chaudanne roundabout and the creation of new viewpoints. The plans for this new development are on exhibition at the tourist office, the townhall and the Olympic Park. Новый центр в Мерибеле : Мэрия планирует переделать центр Мерибеля. Это касается организации торговых точек, создания городской площади, развития досуга после катания на лыжах во второй половине дня, приоритета для пешеходов на круговом перекрестке Шодан, создания видовых площадок... Les championnats de France de Trail Cet été, les 10 et 11 août, Méribel a accueilli les championnats de France de trail. Pour cette 5e édition du Méribel Trail, près de 2000 coureurs étaient présents. Plusieurs parcours étaient proposés, un 25 km et aussi un 50 km, avec 4 200 mètres de dénivelé positif. Les enfants se sont essayés à ce sport outdoor avec des parcours adaptés de 5 et 10 km. Le prochain rendez-vous pour les traileurs est fixé les 8 et 9 août 2020. This summer, on the 10th and 11th of August, Méribel hosted The French Trail Running Championships where over 2000 runners participated. There was a choice of 2 trails, a 25 km and 50 km with 4200 metres of steep gradients. Children also had the opportunity to have a go at the outdoor activity and shorter 5 to 10 km trails were provided. The next event for runners will take place on the 8th and 9th of August 2020.

Чемпионат Франции по трейлраннингу. Этим летом, 10 и 11 августа, в Мерибеле прошёл чемпионат Франции по трейлраннингу. В соревновании приняли участие 2000 спортсменов. Были предложены различные маршруты: 25 км и 50 км с перепадом высот 4200м. Дети тоже попробовали себя в этом спорте на открытом воздухе на специально адаптированных маршрутах 5 и 10 км. Следующая встреча назначена на 8 и 9 августа 2020.

Méribel, terre de trail

Zen altitude En ouverture de la saison estivale, du 6 au 19 juillet, Méribel a invité les vacanciers à prendre soin d’eux, avec la « Zen altitude ». L’événement se décline également en version hivernale, du 23 mars au 10 avril. Au programme : cours de yoga en extérieur, Qi Gong, Ateliers cosmétiques, Jin Shin Jyustsu, Tai Chi, massages en terrasses, balades en raquettes, bar à smoothies… Une bonne occasion de se détendre et sortir de l’hiver en douceur. At the beginning of the summer season, from the 6th to the 19th of July, Méribel invited its holidaymakers to enjoy an “Altitude Zen” experience proposing indoor and outdoor yoga classes, Qi Gong, a cosmetics workshop, Jin Jyustu, Tai Chai, massages, snowshoe hiking and sumptuous smoothies at the smoothie bar. A gentle and relaxing way to see another winter out.

Умиротворение на высоте На открытии летнего сезона с 6 по 19 июля Мерибель предложил отдыхающим заняться собой с «Дзен (умиротворение) на высоте». Есть и зимняя версия с 23.03 по 10.04. В программе: занятия йогой на природе, Цигун, мастеркласс по косметике, Джин Шин Джитсу, Тай Чи, массаж на террасе, прогулка на снегоходах, смузи-бар... Прекрасная возможность расслабиться и мягко выйти из зимы.

La vallée de Méribel est un terrain de jeu exceptionnel pour les amoureux de la nature. C’est le spot idéal pour pratiquer le trail l’été avec 150 km de trails balisés et 9 itinéraires différents, de quoi satisfaire tous les amateurs de course à pied en montagne. La station propose aux traileurs des itinéraires permanents balisés allant d’un kilomètre vertical de 2,7 km à plus de 50 km et 4000 m de D+ en passant par des boucles de 4 à 25 km plus accessibles pour découvrir la discipline.

The Méribel Valley is the perfect playground for nature lovers. It is the ideal location to practice trail running with its 150 kms of marked out trails and no less than 9 different itineraries, more than enough to satisfy all adept mountain trail runners. The resort also provides permanent marked out itineraries ranging from 2.7 to 50 kms and 4000 metres of D+, including 4 to 25 km loops which are more accessible to newcomers discovering the activity.

Она идеально подходит для занятий трейлраннингом летом. 150 км размеченных трасс и 9 различных маршрутов порадуют любителей бега в горах. Une nouvelle adresse à Méribel Hubert Saltiel et Jean-Thomas Olano, fondateurs de Promo 6, ont lancé l’un des derniers programmes neufs envisageables au Rond-Point des Pistes, à Méribel. Le Village de l'Orée est une résidence de 25 appartements, qui sera livrée en décembre 2020. L’architecte d’intérieur Jean-Marc Mouchet, basé à Aix-les-Bains, a imaginé la décoration des lieux. Ce dernier signe de nombreux projets haut de gamme, avec la montagne comme ADN. « J’ai une histoire de longue date avec Méribel. Pour ce projet, je voulais une ambiance qui mélange un esprit contemporain et montagne avec du vieux bois, pour l’aspect chalet. Chaque cuisine dispose d’un îlot, avec un éclairage indirect, sous le plan de travail en chêne. Dans ce projet, il y a beaucoup de noir. Cette couleur qui n’en est pas une durera dans le temps. Une teinte sombre crée un espace intime, cela cadre les choses. Plusieurs éléments de décoration, des tableaux rétroéclairés ou des toiles tendues, rappellent la nature, la forêt », explique Jean-Marc Mouchet. Ce dernier a imaginé le Village de l’Orée comme plusieurs chalets, dans une même résidence. « Je souhaite une ambiance refuge sophistiquée, un refuge 5 étoiles en quelque sorte. L’idée est de retranscrire un chalet contemporain, avec du vieux bois et des matériaux nobles, jusqu’aux sanitaires et à la robinetterie en PVD, agencement sur mesure… Je crée la surprise même à l’intérieur des placards ; les clients ont des codes couleurs à choisir : vert, orange très couture ou taupe. Cela complète l’identité de leur appartement. C’est inédit à Méribel, mais à l’image de Promo 6 qui souhaite faire de la promotion haut de gamme », ajoute l’architecte d’intérieur. Les espaces communs sont également très soignés. L’esprit luxe est repris à l’entrée du skiroom, avec un papier peint Lacroix. Devant chaque logement, un ski accroché sur du Fénix NTM® noir porte le nom de l’appartement. Les acquéreurs sont invités à choisir le nom d’une piste des 3 Vallées, afin de rester dans le thème.

A new address in Méribel Hubert Saltiel and Jean-Thomas Olano, creators of Promo 6, have launched one of the latest new programmes at the Rond-Point des Pistes in Méribel. The Village de l'Orée is a 25 apartments residence to be delivered in December 2020. The interior architect Jean-Marc Mouchet, based in Aix-les-Bains, has designed the decoration of the complex. He has designed many high-end projects, with the mountain as his DNA. "I have a long history with Méribel. For this project, I wanted an atmosphere that mixes a contemporary and mountain spirit with old wood, for the chalet aspect. The contrast is brought by the tiling (1 metre by 1 metre slabs in the bathrooms), the contemporary sanitary facilities and the top-of-therange kitchen with its fronts in white or black phoenix. Each kitchen has an island, with indirect lighting, under the oak worktop. There is a lot of black in this project. This colour, which is not a colour, will last over time. He imagined the Village de l'Orée as several chalets in the same residence. "I want a sophisticated refuge atmosphere, a 5-star refuge in a way. The idea is to recreate a contemporary chalet, with old wood and noble materials, right down to the sanitary facilities and PVD taps, with a customised layout... I create a surprise even inside the cupboards; clients have colour codes to choose from: green, very couture orange or taupe. This completes the identity of their apartment. It's new in Méribel, but it reflects Promo 6’s image, who wants to do top-of-the-range promotion", adds the interior designer. The communal areas are also very neat. The spirit of luxury is echoed at the entrance to the skiroom, with Lacroix wallpaper. In front of each apartment, a ski hanging on black phoenix bears the name of the apartment. Он задумал Виллаж де л’Оре как комплекс из нескольких шале. «Я хотел создать атмосферу изысканного горного приюта, что-то вроде 5 –звёздочного приюта. Идея – это сделать современное шале со старинным деревом и благородными материалами, включая сантехнику и водопроводную арматуру с вакуумным напылением, индивидуальную планировку... Я готовлю сюрпризы даже внутри шкафов. Клиенты должны выбрать цветовой код: зелёный, оранжевый или серо-коричневый. Это завершает индивидуальность их квартиры. Такого раньше не было в Мерибеле, но это соответствует имиджу Промо 6, которая хотела бы заниматься элитным строительством», добавляет дизайнер. Места общего пользования также были продуманы. Роскошь видна при входе в комнату для лыж с обоями Лакруа. Перед каждой квартирой на лыже, прикрепленной к чёрному пластику, указано название квартиры. Владельцам предлагается выбрать название одной из трасс 3 Долин, чтобы оставаться в теме.

Deux ambiances À Méribel-Mottaret, le promoteur Aquipierre (basé à Lyon et Bordeaux) lance un nouveau projet, commercialisé par Savills. « So Pure » réunit trois bâtiments collectifs et trois chalets, imaginés par l’agence lyonnaise d’architecture XXL Atelier. Le projet reprend les codes de Méribel, des toits à deux pans avec du bois et de la pierre en façade. La décoration des appartements et des trois chalets a été confiée à l’Agence Amevet à Chambéry. L’agence dispose d’une belle expertise en montagne où elle a réalisé de nombreux projets : résidences, appartements et chalets. L’univers montagne est une thématique qui passionne les collaborateurs de l’agence. Deux architectes d’intérieur ont travaillé sur ce projet, en collaboration avec l’architecte du bâtiment. Le promoteur Aquipierre souhaitait proposer deux ambiances de décoration à ses clients, l’une plutôt montagne et l’autre contemporaine.

Pour l’ambiance montagne, l’agence Amevet a imaginé une décoration qui remet au goût du jour l’ambiance traditionnelle. L’univers alpestre se conjugue dans le mobilier : table en bois, habillage mural de bois, un peu de pierre au mur, façades de cuisine en bois, des matières à texture comme le velours ou la laine, des accessoires avec de la fourrure… La touche authentique se retrouve notamment dans les luminaires, à base de métal. La palette de couleurs reste assez sobre avec du gris, du marron, ou du beige. Pour l’ambiance montagne contemporaine, les couleurs diffèrent : du bleu, du marron et du gris. Les matières sont plus lisses, avec, par exemple, un drap de laine très peu texturé. Les luminaires en verre invitent la transparence. Dans la pièce de vie, les murs mixent bois et peinture. La décoration est spécifique à chaque chambre et se décline à travers les têtes de lit, les rideaux, le mobilier d’appoint…

Le promoteur propose une conception clef en main. L’agence Amevet a défini tous les aspects intérieurs de l’appartement, l’acquéreur n’a plus qu’à choisir son ambiance et ses meubles (canapés, fauteuils, tables, chaises…). Tout est mis en place afin de faciliter les choix de l’acquéreur, jusqu’aux propositions de vaisselle. Les packs sont définis en fonction du nombre de personnes. Les accessoires de décoration vont permettre de créer des univers personnalisés. C’est un grand confort pour les clients, résidant souvent loin de Mottaret, de disposer à la livraison d’un appartement entièrement meublé, où chaque objet sera installé et mis en scène. « So Pure » ouvrira ses portes en décembre 2021.

In Méribel-Mottaret, the developer Aquipierre (based in Lyon and Bordeaux) is launching a new project, marketed by Savills. Two atmospheres For the mountain atmosphere, the Amevet agency has imagined a decoration that brings back the traditional atmosphere. The alpine universe is combined in the furniture: wooden table, wooden wall cladding, a bit of stone on the wall, wooden kitchen fronts, textured materials such

as velvet or wool, accessories with fur... The authentic touch is found in particular in the metal-based lighting. The colour palette remains rather sober with grey, brown or beige. For the contemporary mountain atmosphere, the colours are different: blue, brown and grey. The materials are smoother, with, for example, a woollen sheet with very little texture. Glass luminaires invite transparency. In the living room, the walls mix wood and paint. The decoration is specific to each room and can be seen in the headboards, curtains, occasional furniture... The developer offers a turnkey design. The Amevet agency has defined all the interior aspects of the apartment, the buyer only has to choose its atmosphere and furniture (sofas, armchairs, tables, chairs...). Everything is set up in order to facilitate the choices of the purchaser, up to the proposals of crockery. The packs are defined according to the number of people. The decoration accessories will allow the creation of personalised universes. It is a great comfort for customers, often living far from Mottaret, to have a fully furnished apartment at the delivery, where each object will be installed and staged. "So Pure" will open its doors in December 2021.

В жилой комнате стены отделаны деревом или покрашены. Дизайн для каждой комнаты особенный: это может проявляться в изголовье кровати, занавесках, мебели... Строительная компания предлагает квартиры под ключ. Агентство Amevet разработало все аспекты внутренней отделки квартир, владелец должен только выбрать свой стиль и мебель (диваны, кресла, столы, стулья...). Всё сделано для того, чтобы облегчить выбор покупателя, предлагается даже посуда. Пакеты услуг сформированы в зависимости от количества человек. Декоративные аксессуары позволят создать подходящий вам дизайн. Это очень удобно для клиентов, часто проживающих далеко от Моттаре, приехать в новую квартиру, где уже будет мебель, а все предметы расставлены по своим местам. «So Pure» откроет свои двери в декабре 2021.

Youri Duplessis « C’était juste du bonheur » Interview par Hugo RICHERMOZ

Après avoir gagné, l’hiver dernier, sa place sur le circuit Coupe du Monde de skicross, Youri Duplessis Kergomard, pur produit du club des sports de Méribel, a frappé un grand coup, fin 2019. Lors de la Coupe du monde de Val Thorens, il est monté sur le podium en prenant la 2e place. Une journée forcément gravée dans sa mémoire.

Vous êtes originaire du Sud de la France mais avez grandi à Méribel. Comment cela s’est-il passé ?

Ça vous tire vers le haut de vous entraîner dans cette équipe de France qui compte le champion du monde en titre, plusieurs médaillés olympiques et le tenant du titre du globe de cristal ?

Je suis originaire de Montpellier, mais j’ai passé tous mes hivers à Méribel. D’abord comme saisonnier, puisque mes parents travaillaient à la station, puis toute l’année lorsque le ski a commencé à devenir très important pour moi.

Comment en êtes-vous venu au skicross ? J’ai commencé par le ski alpin, au club des sports de Méribel. Quand j’étais plus jeune, le skicross était déjà bien développé et, dès que j’ai eu l’âge d’en faire, c’est-à-dire à partir de 16 ans, je m’y suis mis. Ça a été un vrai coup de foudre ! Je suis passé par le comité de Savoie, le groupe Coupe d’Europe et, depuis cet hiver, le groupe Coupe du Monde.

Évidemment ! On fait un sport dans lequel on a besoin de se comparer, d’avoir des adversaires de haut niveau pour progresser. Il y a une émulation de groupe qui fait qu’on se soutient, qu’on s’encourage et qu’on se fait progresser les uns les autres. C’est important d’avoir ça au quotidien. Comme j’ai gagné le classement général de la Coupe d’Europe (le deuxième échelon mondial, NDLR) l’hiver dernier, j’ai une place nominative en Coupe du monde cette année. Mais je sais qu’on doit toujours prouver qu’on a notre place dans cette équipe et que rien n’est acquis.

Le 6 décembre dernier, vous avez décroché votre premier podium en Coupe du monde, à Val Thorens. Pouvez-vous nous raconter cette journée mémorable ? C’était mon sixième départ en Coupe du Monde. Mon objectif était de me qualifier pour les phases finales, donc de terminer dans les 32 premiers de la qualification. J’y suis arrivé, ce que je n’avais jamais réussi à faire, donc j’avais déjà validé une partie du contrat. Ensuite, à chaque run, c’était du bonus et j’ai réussi à passer tous les tours jusqu’à arriver en finale. À aucun moment je n’ai vraiment réfléchi. C’était une journée où j’étais bien dans mes pompes, je ne pensais plus à rien, j’ai laissé faire l’instinct et tout ce que j’avais appris lors des hivers précédents où à l’entraînement.

Le fait de skier quasiment à domicile ne vous a pas inhibé ? C’est une piste que je connaissais bien, j’avais gagné les Championnats de France, ou une Coupe d’Europe l’année précédente. Ça ne donne pas d’avantage technique mais ça me permettait d’arriver avec de bons repères. Je savais que toute la famille, les copains, les sponsors étaient là. Ça m’a mis un peu de pression dans les jours précédant la course, mais le jour J, je n’y pensais pas. Je les ai retrouvés après la course quand la pression était retombée, et c’était juste du bonheur.

Quand vous êtes dans la vallée, à quoi ressemble votre journée parfaite ? J’aime bien skier ou faire du télémark quand il n’y a personne sur les pistes, tôt le matin ou tard le soir. Mais j’aime surtout faire du ski de randonnée, pour m’éloigner de la foule. J’habite à Bozel, donc je pars souvent du Praz pour monter en haut de la Saulire par exemple. En rentrant, j’aime bien m’arrêter boire un coup au Rastro, à Méribel-Mottaret.

“Pure joy” After winning, last winter, the Ski Cross World Cup, Youri Duplessis Kergomard, a pure product from the Méribel sports club, hit again with another big success at the Val Thorens World Cup, where he won 2nd place at the end of 2019. Yet another unforgettable day.

So, you originally come from the south of France, but you grew up in Meribel. How did that happen? Yes, I grew up in Montpellier, but I spent every winter in Méribel. First, I did seasonal work, because my parents worked at the station, then when skiing started to become very important to me, I decided to live there all year round.

Why ski cross ? I started alpin ski first, at the Méribel Sports Club. Ski cross was already popular when I was young and as soon as I turned 16, the legal age to be able to do this sport, I gave it a go. I loved it straight away! I first started skiing for the committee of Savoie, then for the European Cup Team, and since this winter the World Cup Team.

Does being a member of the French team, which holds the World Championship title, and which has won numerous Olympic medals and also holds the Cristal Globe title, put any pressure on you? Of course! It is a sport where you have to be continually comparing yourself with others, having opponents with higher levels to continue progressing. There is a strong sense of team work and desire to support and help each other improve within our team. It’s really important to have that on a daily basis. As I won in the general classment of the European Cup (the second world echelon. NDLR) last year, I have a

nominative place at the world cup this year. However, I know that I have to continue proving that I am worthy of my place on this team, and that I could lose it in a heartbeat.

On the 6th of December last, you received your first World Cup Podium, at Val Thorens. Can you tell us a little bit about that day? It was my 6th departure at the World Cup. My objective was to qualify for the final phases, meaning finishing within the first 32, to qualify. I succeeded, something I had never been able to do before, I had already validated a part of my contract. After that, each run was just a bonus, it was a good day for me, and I just let myself go, following my instinct and remembering everything I had learned from past winters and training.

Skiing so close to home didn’t bother you? It’s a slope I know well, I won the French Championships and a European cup there the year before. It doesn’t give you any technical advantages, but as I know it well, I didn’t have to worry about familiarising with it. I knew my family and friends and sponsors would be there, which made me a little nervous a few days before the event, but once d- day arrived it didn’t matter anymore. After the race, when the pressure had gone, we met up, and it was just pure joy.

What is a perfect day in the valley for you? I like skiing, or telemark skiing early in the morning or late at night, when there are less people. But what I really like the most is ski touring, where I can be far from the crowds. I live in Bozel, so I often start my ski tour at Praz and make my way up to the Saulire, for example. On the way home I like to stop off for a drink at the Rasto, in Méribel-Mottaret.

Когда я был маленьким, ски-кросс был уже достаточно развит, и как только мне позволил возраст (с 16 лет), я сразу стал им заниматься. Это было любовью с первого взгляда! Я катался за комитет Савойи, за группу кубка Европы и, с этой зимы, за группу кубка мира

Тренироваться в сборной Франции вместе с действующим чемпионом мира, призёрами олимпийских игр и обладателем хрустального глобуса помогает вам улучшить результаты? Естественно! Мы занимаемся спортом, в котором необходимо себя сравнивать с другими, им еть достойных соперников, чтобы двигаться вперед. Есть соре вновательный дух внутри команды: мы друг друга поддерживаем, подбадриваем и помогаем друг другу расти. Важно чувствовать это каждый день. Поскольку я выиграл в общем зачете на кубке Европы прошлой зимой (второе по значимости соревнование в горных лыжах - прим. ред.), в этом году мне

обеспечено место на кубке мира. Но я знаю, что в сборной постоянно нужно доказывать, что мы не занимаем чужое место.

6 декабря вы в первый раз стали призёром кубка мира в Валь Торансе. Расскажите нам об этом незабываемом дне Это был мой 6 старт на кубке мира. Моей целью было выйти в финал, т.е. занять не ниже 32 места в квалификации. Мне это удалось, таким образом часть контракта уже была выполнена. Затем каждый заезд был как бонус, и у меня получилось кататься каждый день и дойти до финала. Ни разу я понастоящему не задумывался. В тот день я хорошо себя чувствовал и больше ни о чем не думал. Я следовал своему чутью и тому, чему научился за эти годы.

Вам не мешало то, что вы катаетесь практически дома? Я хорошо знал эту трассу: я выиграл здесь чемпионат Франции и кубок Европы в прошлом году. Это не даёт технического преимущества, но у меня были хорошие ориентиры. Я знал, что вся семья, друзья и спонсоры были здесь. Перед соревнованиями это на меня немного давило, но в сам день соревнований я об этом не думал. Я встретился со всеми после заезда, когда напряжение спало, и это было просто счастье.

Когда вы находитесь в долине, на что похож ваш идеальный день? Мне нравится кататься на лыжах или заниматься телемарком, когда на трассах никого нет, рано утром или поздно вечером. Но особенно я люблю ски-альпинизм, чтобы уйти подальше от толпы. Я живу в Бозеле и часто выезжаю из Праза, чтобы подняться на вершину Солир, например. Когда я возвращаюсь, то с удовольствием останавливаюсь, чтобы пропустить стаканчик в Растро в Мерибель-Моттаре.

Rapprochement franco-slovène

C’est lors d’une sympathique soirée amicale, à l'initiative de Schuss Magazine, que Tatiana Dumas-Rodica, Consule Honoraire de Slovénie pour la région Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, Présidente de l’association France-Slovénie et Méribéloise de cœur depuis plus de 40 ans, a lancé le projet d’un rapprochement franco-slovène et de la création de la section des médaillés slovènes. Pour cela, elle a invité les médaillés de la Légion d’Honneur de Méribel : Georges Mauduit, grand nom du ski français et Patrick Schamash, médecin à Méribel, tous deux Chevaliers en présence de son ami, le Général Christian Peraldi, lui-même Officier de la Légion d’honneur. Ce fut là le point de départ d’autres axes de développement. De nombreuses idées ont été lancées, comme la possibilité d’un jumelage entre Méribel et Kranjska Gora, station sportive slovène par excellence, où se déroulent de nombreux événements de ski internationaux. Lors de cette même journée, Madame la Consule s’est rendue sur le salon SPORT ACHAT, pour saluer les représentants français et slovènes de la marque de ski slovène ELAN. Autant de rapprochements fructueux qui permettront dans un proche avenir de renforcer des liens porteurs entre nos deux pays.

Сближение Франции и Словении Franco-Slovenian closer links It was during a friendly evening, at the initiative of Schuss Magazine, that Tatiana Dumas-Rodica, Honorary Consul of Slovenia for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, President of the France-Slovenia association, and “Méribéloise” for over 40 years, launched the project of a Franco-Slovenian rapprochement and the creation of the Slovenian medallists' section. Après une première à Paris en novembre dernier, et 110 villes européennes, le festival Montagne en scène arrive dans les 3 Vallées. La dernière édition a réuni plus de 90 000 festivaliers, passionnés de film de montagne. Cette année l’équipe de programmation a sélectionné 5 films, pour faire rêver et voyager le public : en ski sur des pentes toujours plus raides du massif du Mont-Blanc, en parapente et au bout d’un piolet en Himalaya ou encore sous une tente par -20 degrés. C’est aussi une aventure humaine, à la rencontre d’un duo mère-fille insubmersible, sur la trace de freeriders reconnus, dans les pas de cordées légendaires, un tête-à-tête et en bivouac avec Jean-Yves Fredriksen… Les rendez-vous sont pris en février : le 17 aux Menuires, le 18 à Brides-les-Bains, le 19 à Courchevel 1850, le 20 à Val Thorens et le 21 à Méribel. www.montagne-en-scene.com

Une mention particulière pour le tartare de bœuf maison, découpé minute au couteau, classique ou italien (parmesan, tomates confites maison, pesto maison et olives noires), accompagnés de frites. Over the last 3 years, les "Rôtisseurs du Mottaret" have proved their worth, with their gourmet homemade cooking, made from fresh local products. A warm and friendly atmosphere and a beautiful sunny terrace situated on the slopes, it's a "must" to stop off at, during your stay at the station. The delicious smell of roasting beef or chicken, or the sweet smell of "cochon de lait" (a baby pig) "caramélisé" gently cooked at a low temperature for 4 hours, is definitely worth the detour. The restaurant "le Plan des Mains" can be found at 2100 Meters, at the foot of the Mont Vallon, where the slopes of Val Thorens des Ménuires and Méribel meet, an ideal location thanks to the variety of different routes that meet in the 3 Vallées. Une première mondiale

Après Val Thorens l’été dernier, c’est au tour d’une autre station des 3 Vallées d’accueillir les coureurs du Tour de France 2020. L’arrivée se fera sur une route inédite, celle du col de la Loze, le 15 juillet prochain. Pour cette 107e édition, le parcours du Tour de France 2020 ne sortira pas des frontières de l’Hexagone. Au cours des 21 étapes, ce ne sont pas moins de 32 départements et les 5 massifs montagneux qui seront visités. La grande boucle compte notamment 8 étapes de montagne avec 4 arrivées en altitude. Il y aura quatre ascensions inédites comme celle du col de la Loze ou celui de la Madeleine par une route inédite.

L'arrivée de l'étape Grenoble-Méribel se disputera sur un col exclusivement réservé aux cyclistes. Cette piste de 4 mètres de large relie Méribel à Courchevel et arrive à 2 304 mètres d’altitude, avec des portions dont les plus pentues oscillent entre 16 et 20 %. C’est le 7e plus haut col de France et le 3e de Savoie après l’Iseran et le Galibier. Il est fermé à la circulation motorisée et exclusivement dédié aux cyclistes. Méribel aura attendu 46 ans depuis la victoire d’étape du français Bernard Thévenet en 1973 aux Allues, pour accueillir de nouveau une étape du Tour de France.

Une répétition avant 2023 Trois ans avant l’organisation des Championnats du Monde de Ski Alpin (en février 2023), Thierry Carroz, directeur du club des Sports de Méribel, se prépare à accueillir les coureurs du Tour : « Méribel est heureuse d’accueillir de nouveau le Tour de France. Nous avions à cœur d’apporter quelque chose de plus au Tour… Un atout dont les cyclistes amateurs pourraient profiter durant l’été : rouler sur une voie de montagne sans la crainte de croiser une voiture, en pleine nature, à l’abri de toute forme de pollution. Notre cellule organisation est opérationnelle et s’est rodée cet été avec les coureurs du Tour de l’Avenir. Le Tour de France nous permettra d’apprendre encore et de mobiliser dans la perspective des Championnats du Monde de Ski Alpin qui se dérouleront à Méribel et Courchevel en 2023 ».

La Loze, le toit du Tour Christian Prudhomme, directeur du Tour de France, le dit lui-même : « L’étape de Méribel sera le toit du Tour, certains virages du nouveau col de la Loze sont aussi raides que ceux du mur de Huy dans la Flèche wallonne, c’est une succession de ruptures de pente toutes plus brutales les unes que les autres. Cette nouvelle voie épouse parfaitement les courbes de la montagne… La découverte du col de la Loze sera un choc, et pas seulement pour l’immense panorama dont on jouit au sommet. Nous avons là peut-être un profil hors-normes, le prototype du col du 21e siècle ! ». En effet, le col est long de 7 kilomètres, pour 661 mètres de dénivelé positif et des pentes entre 10% de moyenne et 20% maximum.

Méribel: The station will be hosting the Tour de France After Val Thorens last year, it will be the turn of the 3 Vallées to host the Tour de France cyclists. The last part of this stage of the race will take place on a unprecedented route, that of the Col de la Loze on the 15th of July 2020. For this 107th edition, the Tour de France will remain within the French Hexagon. Over the course of the race, no less than 32 departments and 5 mountain massifs will be visited. The big loop notably includes 8 stages in the mountains, with 4 arrivals in altitude. There will be 4 unprecedented ascensions similar to those at the Col de la Loze and the Madeleine, made accessible by a brand new route.

A world first The Grenoble-Méribel stage of the tour will be competed on a col exclusively reserved for the cyclists. This 4-metre-wide slope links Meribel to Courchevel, it is

2304 metres high, with in certain parts, slopes ranging between 16 to 20 %. It is the 7th highest col in France and the 3rd highest in the Savoie after l’Iseran and the Gabilier and is solely reserved for cyclists, no cars are permitted to circulate on this col. Meribel has had to wait 46 years, since Bernard Thévenet won the 1973 stage of the tour at the Allues, to host once again this stage of the Tour de France.

Rehearsing for 2023 Thierry Carroz, Méribel’s Sports and Culture Club Director is preparing to receive the Tour de France cyclists, while, at the same time, has already started planning for the Alpin Ski World Championships which are to be held in 2023. “Meribel is delighted to welcome the Tour de France once again. We really want to add something extra to this tour... something that amateur cyclists can also benefit from during the summer: to be able to cycle in the mountains free of cars and pollution, in nature, is a real treat. Our organisation and operational unit this summer was based on cyclists

who will be participating in the future Tours de France. With the experience of this Tour de France, we will be better prepared for future events, such as the Alpin Ski World Championships in 2023 which will be taking place in Méribel.”

La Loze, the roof of the Tour The director of the Tour de France, Christian Prudhomme said it himself: “the Méribel stage of the tour will be a real highlight, with twists and turns on the new Col de la Loze as sharp as those found at the Mur de Huy in the Flèche Wallonia, a succession of variable routes, each one more brutal than the precedent. This new route, fits in perfectly with the mountain’s curves, and discovering the Col de Loze will be a real shock but not only because of its breath-taking views from the summit. We have here, most probably, an outstanding example of a 21st century prototype.” Indeed, the col is 7 kilometres long, with 661 metres of ascending elevation and slopes varying between on average 10% to 20% maximum.

«Этап в Мерибеле станет крышей Тура, некоторые повороты перевала Ля Лоз такие же крутые как на горе Мюр де Юи во время гонки Флеш Валонь. Это череда крутых перепадов. Chaque été, impossible de manquer la Fête à Fanfoué. Cet événement réunit habitants et vacanciers, autour des traditions et du folklore de la vallée des Allues Le 4 août dernier, la Fête à Fanfoué avait une saveur particulière. Ce rendez-vous immanquable fêtait son 50e anniversaire. Selon l’anecdote, la fête aurait été imaginée par deux amis, Pierre et François. Au fil des ans et des constructions en station, les vacanciers se joignirent à la célébration. Un jour l’un d’entre eux demanda à Pierre comment s’appelait « sa fête ». Celui-ci répondit alors « Ce n’est pas ma fête, c’est la fête à Fanfoué ! », Fanfoué signifiant François en patois savoyard.

Le week-end festif a débuté par une soupe bûcheronne au coin du feu et s’est prolongé tard dans la nuit avec le bal populaire. Le dimanche matin, tous avaient rendez-vous aux Allues pour la messe suivie de la procession traditionnelle jusqu'à l'oratoire St Apollonie. Pour l’occasion les habitants avaient sorti de leurs armoires leurs costumes traditionnels. Les estivants ont admiré les coiffes des Allues et les chapeaux de paille traditionnels, portés par les femmes. L’après-midi, les chars ont accompagné le défilé. L’artisanat était également à l’honneur, avec de nombreux stands d’artisans. La gastronomie n’est pas en reste. Les plus gourmands se sont régalés de bugnes toutes chaudes dont ils ont découvert le secret de fabrication lors d’un atelier.

Les protagonistes de la Route des Tomes et de la Route des Glaces étaient également de la partie. Les premiers distribuent le fromage dans la vallée à dos de mulets. Quant à la Route des Glaces, c’est le chemin que les habitants des Allues empruntaient pour aller chercher de la glace. Cette activité est apparue en 1854, alors que les réfrigérateurs n’existaient pas. Après plusieurs heures de marche, en passant par le refuge du Saut, ils arrivaient au glacier de Gébroulaz. Les blocs de glace étaient taillés à la hache avant d’être redescendus dans la vallée à dos de mulet ou d’homme. Lors de la fête, plusieurs jeunes hommes de la vallée ont perpétué la tradition, portant fièrement les vêtements et matériel d’antan.

La Route des tommes participe au défilé. Chaque mois de septembre, les hommes et les mules, reprennent le chemin de leurs ancêtres pour vendre leurs tommes en Italie.

Each summer the Fête de Fanfoué is an event that you just can’t miss. Locals and holidaymakers unite to enjoy the traditions and the folklore of the vallée des Allues.

Last year, on the 4th of August, the Fête de Fanfoué celebrated its 50th anniversary. According to the locals The Fête de Fanfoué was invented by 2 friends, Pierre and François, and over the years as the station grew, more and more holidaymakers joined in the celebrations. One day one of them asked Pierre what the name of his event was called, he replied, “it’s not my event it is Fanfoué’s.” Fanfoué being the nickname for François in the local dialect.

4 августа праздник Фанфуэ имел особый привкус - праздновали его 50-летний юбилей. По легенде, этот праздник придумали два друга - Пьер и Франсуа. С течением времени гости курорта присоединились к празднованию. Однажды один из них спросил у Пьера, как назывался «его праздник», и Пьер тогда ответил: «Это не мой праздник, это праздник Фанфуэ!». Фанфуэ на савойском диалекте значило Франсуа.

The weekend festivities started with a thick belly warming soup while seated around a fire, which was followed by a ball that continued late into the night. On Sunday morning everyone was up early ready to attend the mass in the Allues, which was followed by the traditional procession to the l’oratoire St Appollonie. For the occasion the locals brought out their traditional costumes and the onlookers admired the traditional headdresses and straw hats worn by the local women. In the afternoon floats joined in the procession and numerous stalls selling local crafts were also a highlight. For food lovers the delicious “hot bugnes” were also to be had, as well as lessons in how to make them.

Праздничные выходные начались с супа лесорубов на костре и продолжились допоздна народным гуляньем. В воскресенье утром все прибыли в Лез Аллю на традиционную мессу с последующим крестным ходом в молельню Св. Аполлонии. Для такого случая жители достали из своих сундуков традиционные костюмы. Отдыхающие могли любоваться головными уборами из Лез Аллю и традиционными соломенными шляпами на женских головках. После обеда украшенные повозки присоединились к шествию. Ремесленники выставляли свои товары на многочисленных стендах. Не осталась в стороне и гастрономия. Любители поесть полакомились тёплыми пышками, секрет приготовления которых им раскрыли на кулинарном мастер классе.

The protagonists of the Route des Tomes and of the Route des Glaces were also present, arriving on mules while distributing cheese along their way through the valley. The Route des Glaces is the path that the locals once used to fetch ice. This activity first started in 1854 when refrigerators didn’t exist. After an arduous walk, passing through le Refuge du Saut, the icefetchers reached their final destination at the Gébroulaz Glacier. The blocks of ice were then cut by axe and transported back down the valley by mule or by man. In memory of this tradition, several young men from the valley proudly wore the traditional clothes and displayed the tools once used by their ancestors.

Clément Molliet, « Participer au circuit skyrunning » Textes et photos : Nils Louna

Ancien fondeur, membre de l’équipe de France de ski de fond durant trois ans, Clément Molliet s’est reconverti dans le trail avec brio. Après avoir terminé 3e aux championnats d’Europe de skyrunning et avoir remporté, la Maxi Race, la Marathon Race et avoir pris la 4e place de la CCC, il est devenu champion de France l’an passé, dans ses montagnes, à Méribel.

C’était la journée parfaite comme il en existe peu, avec des sensations bonnes tout au long du parcours, à Méribel, organisé par mon club et puis, c’était génial de partager cela avec Gautier Airiau (2e), un de mes coéquipiers.

Justement, parlez-nous du club de Méribel… « Il y a quelques années, j’étais licencié dans un club de plaine. J’ai été approché par Méribel au début de la section trail et j’ai tout de suite adhéré à l’esprit, au dynamisme. Nous avons un groupe sympa avec des stages organisés. De vrais liens qui se sont noués. »

Vous avez un passé de fondeur, vous avez notamment été champion de France de relais et vice-champion de France junior individuel. Pourquoi cette reconversion ? J’ai mis un terme à ma carrière de skieur de fond lorsque j’ai vu que je n’atteindrais pas le niveau qui me permettrait d’aller plus haut. A un âge, il faut faire des choix, mais, en même temps, lorsque l’on fait un sport comme le ski de fond pendant 15 ans, c’est difficile d’arrêter d’un coup. Certains se mettent aux longues distances, moi, j’avais besoin de découvrir un autre horizon. Un ami pratiquait le trail, je me suis pris au jeu.

Quelles comparaisons faites-vous entre ces deux sports ? Ils partagent de nombreuses similitudes, ce sont des disciplines de nature, qui requièrent de l’endurance, qui sont exigeantes toutes les deux, mais il y a aussi des différences. C’est plus facile de s’entraîner en trail, c’est plus aisé de planifier une séance lorsque l’on a un métier à côté comme c’est le cas pour moi (il est responsable promotion chez JULBO, la marque de lunettes). Le matériel est limité, il n’y a pas besoin de monter en station.

Quelles sont vos ambitions pour cette saison ? Je vais participer pour la première fois au circuit skyrunning (épreuves à plus de 2000 m d’altitude avec des degrés de pente importants et parfois de l’escalade), qui comporte de nombreuses étapes, dans de beaux cadres et avec de la concurrence. Il m’attire depuis plusieurs années. Il y aura aussi les championnats du monde.

Ferez-vous toujours du trail dans dix ans ? Mon corps et mon activité professionnelle décideront. Je ne pense pas, il faut beaucoup s’investir pour performer mais je poursuivrais certainement le sport, probablement avec des objectifs moins élevés.

Clément, quels souvenirs gardez-vous de ce week-end de mi-août 2019 où vous avez été sacré champion de France sur vos terres ?

Clément Molliet, « Participer au circuit skyrunning » Former cross-country skier, and member of the French cross-country ski team during 3 years, Clément Molliet decided to take up another sport, “trail running”, where he has also exceled. Indeed, after finishing third in the skyrunning French championships, winning the Maxi Race, the Marathon Race and coming second place in the CCC, he became champion of France last year at Méribel.

Clement, what are your fondest memories of that weekend of August in 2019, when you became champion of France on your own turf? It was a perfect day, there aren’t many like that, it was at Méribel and organised by my own club. A good feeling all the way through the course, it was awesome being able to share the experience with my teammate, Gautier Airiau (second runner up).

Tell us a little bit about Meribel’s club… A few years ago, I was a licenced member in a club (de plaine). Méribel approached me at the beginning of the trail section. I immediately liked the dynamics and the spirit of their team. Everyone is really kind and friendly, we regularly organise group training sessions, the combination creates strong ties.

You have been a cross-country skier, French champion of relay and vice champion of France junior individual. Why the change? I decided to quit cross country-skiing when I realised that I could no longer reach the level I needed to go further. At a certain age in life, you have to make choices and when you do a sport like cross-country skiing during 15 years, you can’t just give it up overnight. Some choose to do long distances but I wanted to do something different. A friend of mine initiated me to trail running and that’s how I started.

How do the two sports compare? They have many similarities, both sports are outdoor sports, in nature, they both require stamina and they are both demanding but with differences. It’s easier to do trail and plan sessions when you have another job, which is my case (he is promotion manager at JULBO, an optical brand). I don’t need a lot of equipment, or have to go to the station to do it.

What are your goals for this season? I will be participating, for the first time, in the skyrunning circuit which takes place at 2000 metres of altitude; It has very steep slopes, and in some places, you also have to do some climbing. Many stages of the race are set in the most picturesque locations and competitivity will be high. I’ve been wanting to do it for years. There will also be the World Championships.

Will you be trail running in ten years? My body and my professional activity will decide. I don’t think so, it requires a lot of time and dedication to be successful, I will most certainly continue doing it but I won’t aim so high.

Он стал третьим на чемпионате Европы по скайраннингу, выиграл Maxi Race и Marathon Race, занял 4 место в забеге ССС (по городам Курмайёр, Шампекс, Шамони) и стал чемпионом Франции в прошлом году в Мерибеле.

Клеман, какие воспоминания остались у вас от тех августовских выходных, когда вы стали чемпионом Франции у себя дома? Это был идеальный день, которых бывает немного. Прекрасное самочувствие на протяжении всего маршрута, организованного моим клубом в Мерибеле. Было замечательно, что мы были вместе с Готье Эрьо (2 место), одним из членов моего клуба.

Вот именно, расскажите нам о клубе Мерибеля... Несколько лет назад я был членом клуба равнины. Когда я начал заниматься трейлраннингом, то вошёл в клуб Мерибеля, и сразу мне понравился его дух и динамизм. У нас очень приятная группа, мы организуем сборы. Между нами возникли тесные связи.

В прошлом вы занимались беговыми лыжами, были чемпионом Франции в эстафете и занимали 2 место среди юниоров. Почему вы поменяли спорт? Я завершил свою карьеру, когда понял, что не смогу добиться результатов, позволяющих мне расти дальше. В определенном возрасте нужно делать выбор, но в то же время, когда занимаешься таким видом спорта как беговые лыжи на протяжении 15 лет, сложно моментально остановиться. Некоторые начинают бегать на длинные дистанции, меня же привлекало что-то новое. Один из моих друзей занимался трейлраннингом и мне понравилось.

Какие параллели можно провести между этими видами спорта? Есть много общего: обе дисциплины - на открытом воздухе, они требуют выносливости и усилий, но есть и различия. Тренироваться проще в трейлраннинге, удобнее распланировать тренировку, когда есть другая работа, как в моём случае (менеджер по продвижению в компании JULBO, производящей очки). Снаряжения нужно немного, необязательно возвращаться на курорт.

Какие у вас планы в этом сезоне?

Я буду в первый раз участвовать в маршруте по скайраннингу (забеги на высоте более 2000м со значительным уклоном и иногда требующие скалолазания), который состоит из нескольких этапов, проходит в красивом месте, и там есть конкуренция. Он давно привлекает меня. Также будет чемпионат мира.

Через 10 лет вы также будете заниматься трейлраннингом? Это решат моё тело и моя работа. Я не думаю. Чтобы быть в хорошей форме надо много вкладывать, но я буду продолжать заниматься спортом, возможно, ставя перед собой менее амбициозные задачи.

For the past 2 years, streets, alleys, car parks and buildings have become the playground of the "Eternal Crapules".

Parmi ses créations monumentales, le public peut admirer « Monster Kong » et « Iron Kong » dans le centre station. For its 11th edition, Art at the Summit is presenting for its theme this year, superheroes. These works of art were revisited by the French sculptor Richard Orlinski, a loyal to the station, who has given them a little pop touch. Among his monumental creations, the public can admire "Monster Kong" and "Iron Kong" in the resorts centre. On reaching the top of the Vizelle by cable car, you can see "Kong Captain Courchevel" while enjoying the 360% panoramic view. Several free guided tours are planned during the winter.

La montagne suggérée tout en douceur à Méribel Emmanuelle Ferrari Bertelot est diplômée d’une école de mode. Elle se passionne pour les tissus et les matières. Un attachement qu’elle retranscrit dans ses tableaux, en utilisant des techniques mixtes. Attachée à ses racines savoyardes, elle présente la montagne de manière stylisée. Son imagination s’exprime dans le tableau, avec des jeux de contrastes et de reflets. Ses toiles, signées de son nom d’artiste « Mann », sont présentées à l’agence Savills à Méribel.

Her paintings, signed with her artist name “Mann" are presented at the Savills agency in Méribel.

From March 8th to the end of April, Patrick Peltier will be exhibiting his photographs of flowers, in macro. The photographer regularly resides in the valley he loves so much.

Les Menuires lancent le « Cime-art » Cet hiver, Lucas Beaufort, artiste couteau-suisse, raconte des « histoi'arts ». Ce concept mêle histoire de la station et « recover » (ajout de motifs ou personnages sur des images déjà existantes). Il a travaillé 15 photos, issues des archives de la station, auxquelles il a ajouté quelques-uns de ses gentils monstres colorés, les « Gus Gus ». Ces visuels customisés sont disséminés en format géant un peu partout dans la station, créant un jeu de piste arty pour toute la famille. Un rallye photo est organisé sous le #rallyemenuires.

This winter, Lucas Beaufort, a multi-talented artist, recounts "histoi'arts". This concept combines the history of the station and "recover" (adding motifs or characters to existing images). He worked on 15 photos from the station's archives, to which he added some of his kind colourful monsters, the Gus Gus. These customized visuals are scattered in giant format throughout the resort, creating an arty track game for the whole family. A photo rally is organized under the #rallyemenuires.

Matti Lopez, « Les Jeux, le rêve de tout sportif ! » Par Nils Louna

Il n’a que 23 ans mais sa grande silhouette parcourt le circuit mondial de télémark depuis déjà sept ans. Rencontre avec le skieur de Méribel Matti Lopez, double champion du monde juniors (2015, 2017) et nouveau portedrapeau de l’équipe de France masculine de télémark.

Le télémark n’est pas olympique. Souhaiteriezvous qu’il le devienne ? Je suis responsable des athlètes à la FIS (fédération internationale de ski) depuis deux ans. Je milite pour. Ce n’est pas une fin en soi mais courir les Jeux, c’est le rêve de tout sportif. Economiquement, notre sport reste mineur, c’est le principal frein.

Vous voilà nouveau leader naturel des Bleus après l’arrêt de Phil Lau, qui a mis un terme à sa carrière à l’issue de la saison dernière… Et oui, j’essaie de ne pas penser à ce statut bien que je dois avouer que cela me met une petite pression supplémentaire. Je me dois d’assumer ce rôle, même si je vois les jeunes Français qui poussent derrière.

Revenons à votre parcours, comment en êtes-vous venu au télémark ? J’ai un passé de skieur alpin. Je suis de la génération d’Hugo Géraci ou Nils Alphand. Et puis un jour, je devais avoir 13 ans, les frères Lau (Chris, Phil et Sven) ont proposé une journée détection. J’ai découvert le télémark, j’ai aimé l’approche, les sensations, le toucher de neige.

Aujourd’hui, n’est-ce pas difficile d’être un télémarkeur ? J’ai longtemps été en colocation avec des skieurs alpins à Annecy. J’ai ramassé. Je trouve notre discipline belle, elle a un charme unique même si nous manquons de médiatisation. Cela permettrait de débloquer des moyens et que notre sport prenne de l’ampleur.

Vivez-vous de votre sport ? Non, je travaille à côté, je suis moniteur à l’ESF de Méribel (il est également étudiant à Grenoble École de Management). Mais les choses vont dans le bon sens, il y a des évolutions par rapport à mes premières années. Notre équipe de France se professionnalise, nous avons une vraie structure avec un kiné, un préparateur physique, un entraîneur…

Vous avez réalisé votre meilleure saison l’an passé. Qu’attendez-vous de cet hiver ? J’ai terminé 7e mondial, j’ai envie d’intégrer le top 5 et claquer régulièrement des podiums. J’ai travaillé en géant, ma partie forte, pour être encore meilleur. Nous avons également beaucoup échangé avec les alpins cet été : Clément Noël, Victor Muffat-Jeandet… Leur discours, leur approche, leur vision m’ont fait écho.

Il y a notamment deux étapes en France à Pralognan-la-Vanoise et Samoens. Sont-elles particulières pour vous ? Bien sûr, courir chez nous c’est super. Il y a la famille, les amis qui viennent, et puis en termes de motivation aussi, il y a un plus.

Isn’t it difficult to be a telemark skier today?

Last season, was your best so far. What are your expectations for this winter?

At only 23, and for the past 7 years, Matti lopez’ tall silhouette has been competing in telemark circuits all over the world. We met the skier from Meribel, two times junior world champion (2015, 2017) and a new member of the men’s French telemark team.

I spent a lot of time on the ski slopes with alpine skiers in Annecy. I was always one step behind. I think telemark ski is beautiful, it has a charm of its own, it’s a shame it’s not more advertised. We’d have more money to promote this sport if it was.

I finished 7th place worldwide, I want to be in the top 5 and to be on the podiums as often as possible. I’ve worked incredibly hard, on my strengths, to be even better. We’ve also worked a lot with some alpine skiers this summer: Clément Noel, Victor Muffat-Jeandet… their vision and insight were a great help to me.

So, you are now the new leader of “des bleus” following Phi Lau’s resignation last season…

No, I work as well, I’m an instructor at the ESF in Méribel (he is also studying at the Grenoble School of Management). But I feel confident, we are moving in the right direction, things are evolving more quickly than before. There is a high level of professionalism within the French team today, we have a real structure with a physiotherapist, a fitness trainer a coach…

Yes, I am, but I try not to think about it too much, it adds more pressure. I need to except the role, even if I can see young French players pushing up from behind.

How did you become a telemark skier? I was an Alpine skier. I am from the Hugo Géraci and Nils Alphand generation. One day when I was around thirteen years old, the Lau brothers (Chris, Phil and Sven) organised an event to detect future skiers, I went, and that’s how I discovered telemark, I liked their approach, the sensations, the contact with the snow.

Do you make a living from your sport?

Telemark isn’t an Olympic sport. Would you like it to become one? I have been in charge of the athletes at the FIS (Féderation internationale de ski) for two years. Participating in the games isn’t everything, but it’s every athlete’s dream, so I’m doing everything in my power to make it happen. Our biggest obstacle is finding the money.

There are notably, two stages of the race that take place in France, one in Pralognan-la-Vanoise and the other in Samoens. Are these places special to you? Of course, competing in the area where you grew up is great. You have your family and friends there to encourage you. There’s nothing more motivating, it’s a real plus.

Вернёмся к вашей истории. Как вы пришли в телемарк? Раньше я занимался горными лыжами. Я из поколения Юго Жераси или Нильса Альфана. Однажды, когда мне было 13 лет, братья Ло (Крис, Фил и Свен) предложили попробовать телемарк. Мне понравился подход, ощущения, скольжение по снегу.

Сегодня сложно заниматься телемарком? Я долгое время снимал квартиру вместе с горнолыжниками из Аннеси. Я получил по полной программе. Я считаю, что наша дисциплина красива и обладает особым очарованием, даже если нам не хватает поддержки СМИ. Это позволило бы получить дополнительные средства и придать нашему спорту необходимый размах.

Вы зарабатываете телемарком? Нет, у меня есть другая работа, я инструктор во Французской лыжной школе в Мерибеле (ещё Матти учится в Школе менеджмента в Гренобле). Но всё идёт в нужном направлении, наблюдается положительная динамика по сравнению с первыми годами. Наша сборная становится более профессиональной, у нас настоящая структура с кинезитерапевтом, тренером, специалистом по физической подготовке...

Телемарк не олимпийский вид спорта. Вам бы хотелось, чтобы он им стал? Я отвечаю за спортсменов в ФИС (Международная федерация лыжного спорта) вот уже 2 года. Я борюсь за это. Это не самоцель, но участвовать в Олимпиаде это мечта любого спортсмена. С экономической точки зрения наш спорт неинтересен, это основной тормоз.

В прошлом году был ваш лучший сезон. Что вы ждёте от этой зимы? Я закончил 7ым в международной классификации, мне хотелось бы войти в пятёрку лидеров и регулярно подниматься на подиум. Я работал над слаломом-гигантом, это у меня получается лучше всего, чтобы быть ещё лучше. Мы много общались этим летом с горнолыжниками: Клеманом Ноэлем, Виктором Мюффа-Жанде... Их разговоры, их подход и их видение ситуации нашли у меня отклик.

Два этапа проходят во Франции, в Пралоньян-ля-Вануазе и Самуене. Есть ли в них для вас что-то особенное? Конечно, кататься у себя - это замечательно. Здесь семья, друзья, это добавляет ещё один стимул к победе.

Stages jeunes : à chaque stage son ADN L'ESF propose différents stages pour les enfants et ados : compétition camp, stage Slalom, stage Elite, freestyle motion, ainsi que Base Camp avec sa très populaire "Coupe Base Camp" chaque jeudi. Tous ces stages ayant leur propre ADN permettent aux enfants et aux ados de continuer à progresser techniquement, tout en faisant le sport de glisse qui les attire, encadrés par des professionnels. The ESF Méribel offers different courses for children and teenagers: competition camps, slalom courses, freestyle motion, and base camp with its very popular "Base Camp Cup" every Thursday. All these courses have their own structure and goals but fundamentally allow children and teens to continue to progress technically, while practising the type of snow-sport which attracts them, supervised by professionals. C’est le bon plan en cours collectifs, car les pistes sont délaissées pendant l’heure du déjeuner. Idéal pour ceux qui aiment faire la grasse matinée ! C'est aussi le créneau idéal pour les cours privés !

To satisfy the greatest number of skiers, the ESF of Méribel offers extra group lessons between 12h15 to 14h00 from February 9th to March 6th. This is a great option because the pistes are at the quietest during lunchtime. The ideal choice for those who like to sleep in the morning! Also, a great time slot for private lessons!

Lac de La Rosière en toutes saisons

Le lac de la Rosière est un petit trésor, dans un écrin de forêt. L’hiver, à pied ou en raquettes, on empreinte la boucle, une balade qui fait le tour du lac, avant de savourer une crêpe et un vin chaud au chalet-buvette. L’été les plaisirs sont variés autour des eaux turquoise du lac : via ferrata, barbecues, randonnées notamment pour accéder au sommet de la Dent du Villard… Le long du sentier botanique on peut admirer des tapis de Sabots de Vénus.

L’Alpinium ouvre ses portes La commune de Courchevel a réalisé des travaux de grande ampleur afin de réaménager le front de neige de Courchevel Le Praz, pour accueillir les Championnats du monde de ski alpin de 2023 et développer une offre de stationnement. Le nouveau bâtiment, l’Alpinium a ouvert ses portes en décembre, avec 500 places de parking, une médiathèque, le départ de la télécabine, des consignes à skis, des bureaux d’accueil S3V et ESF, un plateau sportif sur le toit…

Courchevel est réputée pour être la station aux étoiles. En février et mars, la destination vous offre plusieurs rendez-vous où petits et grands auront des étoiles dans les yeux. Du 13 février au 5 mars, le Festival International d’Art Pyrotechnique revient sur la thématique « Winter is coming ! » en référence à la célèbre série Game of Thrones. Du 19 au 21 mars, le Festival Ski et Toiles propose gratuitement des films en avantpremière, pour l’après-ski.

Au Praz de Courchevel, le chef François Moureaux retrouve son étoile. En effet l’an dernier le restaurant L’Azimut avait perdu son macaron. Le travail du chef et de toute son équipe est aujourd’hui de nouveau salué par le guide. À Courchevel 1850, après seulement 3 années, le chef pâtissier Sébastien Vauxion décroche une 2e étoile pour sa table Le Sarkara. C’est le premier restaurant de desserts imaginé au cœur du K2 Palace. On y vient pour déjeuner et on se laisse guider par la voix chantante d’Anne-Sophie Berthe, présentant cette expérience originale. Les desserts sont imaginés comme des plats composant un menu : entrée, plat et dessert. Les légumes s’invitent dans l’assiette sucrée : oignon, céleri, betterave, herbes aromatiques… Le traditionnel painbeurre est remplacé par une brioche à la myrtille avec une crème gourmande à la vanille. Les beaux verres à Bourgogne se remplissent de grands thés, servis à la juste température.

Le soir de la cérémonie, Sébastien Vauxion a remercié Jean-Alain Bacon et les propriétaires de K2 Collections, la famille Capezzone. Le chef ne cachait pas son émotion : « Quand on est pâtissier, se retrouver à ce niveau-là, c’est inimaginable ! Il y a trois ans, ce fut un pari audacieux, rendu possible grâce à une équipe soudée, de précurseurs, à qui je casse les pieds car jamais rien n’est joué. Le sucre, c’est du plaisir, du bonheur ! ». Le guide Michelin a également décerné une toute nouvelle étoile verte, saluant des chefs pour leur engagement. Cette reconnaissance distincte des étoiles met en lumière les initiatives favorables à une gastronomie durable. Le chef Jean Sulpice a reçu son trophée, un cube de verre avec un peu de terre du Poitou à l’intérieur. Après Val Thorens, le chef est aujourd’hui installé à Talloires au bord du lac d’Annecy, à L’Auberge du Père Bise 2*. Dans les assiettes, il sublime les produits du terroir savoyard et les herbes aromatiques qu'il cultive dans son jardin, non loin de son établissement.

The chef did not hide his emotion: "When you are a pastry chef, to find yourself at this level is unimaginable! Three years ago, it was a daring gamble, made possible thanks to a close-knit team of pioneers, to whom I'm a pain in the neck because nothing is ever won. Sugar is pleasure and happiness! ». The Michelin guide also awarded a brand-new green star, saluting chefs for their environmental efforts. This distinct award highlights initiatives in favour of sustainable gastronomy. Chef Jean Sulpice received his trophy, a glass cube with a bit of Poitou earth inside. After Val Thorens, the chef is now based in Talloires on the shores of Lake Annecy, at L'Auberge du Père Bise**. On his plates, he sublimates the products of the Savoyard terroir and the aromatic herbs grown in his garden, not far from his restaurant.

Après avoir décroché trois médailles olympiques et remporté vingt et une victoires en coupe du monde, le skieur alpin de Courchevel Alexis Pinturault est enfin devenu champion du monde de combiné l’hiver dernier à Åre en Suède. Il est l’un des meilleurs skieurs de sa génération. Depuis ses deux titres mondiaux chez les juniors en 2009 et 2011, Alexis Pinturault, était destiné à l’or. S’il a enchaîné les podiums sur le circuit mondial et lors de grands championnats, il s’est souvent heurté au génie de Marcel Hirscher, le plus grand skieur de tous les temps, qui a presque tout raflé sur son passage ces dernières années, à commencer par le gros globe récompensant le meilleur skieur de l’hiver, qu’il s’est octroyé à huit reprises de 2012 à 2019. Mais l’Autrichien, qui vient de se retirer de la planète neige, ouvre le champ des possibles d’Alexis Pinturault. Deuxième du général de la coupe du monde l’hiver dernier, le skieur de Courchevel peut rêver de remporter cet hiver, pour la première fois, le gros globe. Cela fait 23 ans que la France attend cela, Luc Alphand étant le dernier vainqueur tricolore du général en 1997. « C’est une personne simple, passionnée, volontaire, très dévouée, toujours souriante et qui a conscience de la chance qu’il a » confie sa compagne et attachée de presse Romane Pinturault. C’est une histoire de famille. Morgan et Marie Lamure font partie des espoirs de leur sport. L’un en biathlon, l’autre en ski alpin, les deux athlètes de Courchevel font partie des meilleurs Français de leur discipline et pointent le bout de leur nez sur la scène internationale. L’un est biathlète, l’autre est skieuse alpine Ils pratiquent tous les deux leur sport à haut niveau. La belle aventure de la fratrie Lamure est rare dans le milieu du ski. Ils auraient pu tous les deux évoluer dans la même discipline mais le destin de Morgan en a décidé autrement. « J’ai débuté par le ski alpin mais je n’aimais pas tellement les compétitions alors j’ai arrêté vers 12 ans et me suis réorienté vers le ski de fond. J’ai aussi découvert le tir, cela m’a tout de suite plu. J’ai aimé ce dépassement de soi, le fait d’être aussi recentré sur soi lorsque je suis derrière la carabine » indique l’aîné des Lamure, dont la maman est monitrice et le grand-père également. Bien qu’ayant débuté tardivement le biathlon, Morgan a rapidement fait partie des meilleurs de l’Hexagone, comme en témoignent ses deux titres de champion de France junior et sa médaille de bronze en relais lors des Mondiaux junior. Marie, de quatre ans sa cadette, a toujours pris exemple sur son grand frère. « Petite, je n’aimais pas beaucoup le sport. Il m’a poussée, j’ai pris goût à la compétition et, si aujourd’hui je ne peux plus passer une journée sans sport, c’est un peu grâce à lui » raconte la skieuse de Tarentaise, qui a déjà pris deux départs en coupe du monde ce début d’hiver.

Leurs points communs ne s’arrêtent pas à leur passion pour le sport ou à leurs études communes - Morgan est actuellement en Staps à Grenoble, Marie en terminale à Albertville et devrait le rejoindre à Grenoble l’an prochain. « Nous aimons échanger, nous aider. Nos efforts sont différents, en biathlon c’est long alors qu’en ski alpin c’est court et intense mais il y a beaucoup à partager. J’essaie par exemple de lui apprendre à se libérer, à prendre des risques. Il m’a appris à travailler ma respiration, mes départs afin d’être moins stressée en amont des compétitions » explique Marie. « Nous essayons de ne pas interférer mais il y a un soutien moral. Nous nous inspirons, nous nous nourrissons également de l’autre sur la gestion, l’approche des courses, la mise en confiance, le travail mental… » lâche Morgan. Ces échanges ont fait grandir les deux coureurs de Courchevel. Ils auraient certainement un parcours différent s’ils n’avaient pas été au contact l’un de l’autre. Chacun a pioché dans l’autre pour progresser. Marie a testé à plusieurs reprises le biathlon, Morgan a redécouvert le ski alpin. Tous les deux veulent poursuivre leur progression en conservant un regard sur l’autre. Morgan aimerait s’inscrire sur la coupe du monde, Marie veut y retourner… et rêve de participer aux championnats du monde 2023 qui auront lieu chez elle, à Courchevel. Morgan sera alors certainement son premier supporter.

Even though Morgan was a late starter to biathlon, he rapidly became one of the best in France, he has already won twice the title for the French Junior’s Championship, and a bronze medal in relay at The World Junior’s. Marie, who is four years younger, has always admired and looked up to her brother. “When I was younger, I didn’t like sport that much. It was him who pushed me, and little by little I got hooked. Today a day never goes by without me doing sport, I can thank him for that.” Said the skier from Tarentaise, who participated twice in the World Cup this winter. Their passion for sport and studies is not the only thing they have in common- Morgan is currently on “Staps” in Grenoble, Marie, finishing her secondary school studies, and expecting to join her brother in Grenoble next year. “We like sharing and helping each other out. The effort isn’t the same in biathlon it’s very long, whereas alpine skiing is short and intense, but we can still help each other out a lot. I try, for example, to help him let go, to take risks. Morgan would like to sign-up for the World Cup and Marie would like to go back…and her biggest dream is to participate in the World Championships In 2023, which will be taking place in her home town in Courchevel. Morgan will be, without a shadow of a doubt, the first person there cheering her on.

Они могли бы заниматься одной дисциплиной, но судьба Моргана сложилась иначе. «Я начал заниматься спортом с горных лыж, но мне не нравились соревнования, к 12 годам я перестал кататься и попробовал беговые лыжи. Я также познакомился со стрельбой, и сразу мне это всё очень понравилось. Мне импонировало преодоление себя, чувство, когда ты концентрируешься на себе, держа винтовку перед собой», говорит старший из семьи Лямюр. Его мама и дедушка - горнолыжные инструкторы. Хотя Морган начал заниматься биатлоном достаточно поздно, он скоро вошёл в число

лучших спортсменов Франции. Два раза он становился чемпионом Франции среди юниоров и занял 3 место в эстафете на чемпионате мира среди юниоров. Мари младше его на 4 года. Она всегда брала пример с брата. «Когда я была маленькой, я не очень любила спорт. Он меня подталкивал, и мне понравились соревнования. Если сегодня я не могу прожить и дня без спорта, это тоже благодаря моему брату», рассказывает лыжница из Тарантеза, которая уже два раза стартовала на кубке мира в начале этой зимы. Их общие черты не ограничиваются любовью к спорту или общей учёбой - Морган сейчас учится на учителя физкультуры и спорта в Гренобле, а Мари заканчивает школу в Альбервиле и должна на следующий год приехать к Моргану. «Нам нравится общаться, помогать друг другу. Биатлон требует длительных усилий, а в горных лыжах - это быстро и интенсивно, но всё-равно нам есть чем поделиться. Я пытаюсь, например, научить его освобождаться и рисковать. Он научил меня работать над дыханием, над стартом, чтобы не находиться в стрессе в самом начале соревнования», объясняет Мари. «Мы стараемся не мешать, а поддерживать друг друга. Мы вдохновляем друг друга, обмениваемся подходами,

как управлять гонкой, верить в себя, работать над собой...», добавляет Морган. Этот обмен помог вырасти двум атлетам из Куршевеля. У них была бы, наверно, разная карьера, если бы они не находились в постоянном контакте. Каждый помог другому двигаться вперед. Мари несколько раз пробовала себя в биатлоне, а Морган снова вставал на горные лыжи. Морган хотел бы участвовать в кубке мира, Мари тоже хочет туда вернуться... и мечтает участвовать в чемпионате мира в 2023 г., который пройдёт у неё дома, в Куршевеле. Морган будет её первым болельщиком. Брат и сестра Лямюр дали три основные черты друг друга: «Морган - работяга, очень силен духом и всегда поддержит друзей», делится Мари. Её брат отнёсся к этой задаче с юмором: «Мари просто зверь на трассе, она - папарацци, и не нужно ни в коем случае ей надоедать.»

Val Thorens vers de nouveaux sommets La station, élue à de nombreuses reprises meilleure station du monde, vise de nouveaux sommets, à travers plusieurs projets. L’hiver dernier, la Maison de Val Thorens avait fait peau neuve, avec une ambiance lunaire. Sur les pistes le remplacement de la télécabine « 3 Vallées Express » (reliant Orelle à Val Thorens) va offrir une nouvelle dimension à la cime Caron. Quant au nouveau centre sportif et culturel, son ouverture est prévue pour 2022. L’équipement sera tourné vers des activités 4 saisons.

Voted best station worldwide on many occasions, the Val Thorens station aims to set its sights higher, with a whole new set of projects on the horizon. Last winter the Maison de Val Thorens received a total makeover and a whole new lunar light atmosphere was created. On the slopes the cable car was replaced and a “3 Vallées Express” (linking Orelle to Val Thorens) offers a whole new dynamic at the summit of Caron. Ce bus, imaginé par Navya et les Autocars Bertolami, desservira plusieurs arrêts clefs du centre station. Les vacanciers vont également bénéficier du premier service de livraison de plats à domicile « ZGreen Eat ». Mais ici, pas de livreur chevauchant un scooteur mais un Ziesel, une chenillette entièrement électrique. La station amorce doucement sa transition écologique.

The first 4-wheel electric shuttle bus in the world, designed by Navya and les Autocars Bertolami, will be back this winter and will be making stops at every major station. First class meals will be delivered by an environmentally friendly company called “Zgreen Eat” so, say goodbye to delivery boys on scooters and enjoy great meals delivered in a 100% electrically powered small snow truck called a “Zeisel.”

Each year, the "3 Vallées Enduro" celebrates the spring-ski-season in the 3 Vallées. On Sunday the 5th of April, the skiers, in teams of three, will take part in a competition where they will have to complete ten tests which will be hidden in different areas in the domaine. They will be starting at the ski-stations, among of which, are Meribel, Courchevel and les Ménuires. The champions Alexis Pinturault, Adrien Théaux, Chloé Trespeuch, Jean-Frédéric Chapuis, Phil Lau, Taïna Barioz, Jérémy Prevost will be present to watch the event. La station la plus haute d’Europe ne manque pas de neige, ni d’idées ! Souvent à la pointe des tendances, elle a su se démarquer dans plusieurs domaines. Cet hiver, la technologie dernier cri s’invite sur les pistes pour le plaisir et la sécurité des skieurs. Le service des pistes de Val Thorens souhaite être à la pointe de l'innovation, notamment lors des interventions des secouristes. Cet hiver, deux nouveaux dispositifs de sécurité dernier cri viennent compléter la panoplie des outils servant à assurer la prévention, la surveillance et la sécurité des espaces ouverts aux publics (pistes, chemins, routes, front de neige...).

Un drone pour surveiller le domaine Les secouristes peuvent désormais compter sur les services de « DJI Matrice 210 Version 2 », un drone d'industrie. Celui-ci est équipé de 2 caméras embarquées, une à spectre thermique et l'autre dotée d'un zoom grossissant 180 fois. L’engin peut rapidement identifier une zone d’avalanche, détecter rapidement la position exacte des personnes ensevelies, zoomer afin de découvrir la nature du terrain, diffuser des informations via son haut-parleur… Cet appareil peut faire gagner de précieuses minutes et sauver des vies. La régie des pistes a prévu de proposer ses prestations à tous les acteurs de la vallée des Belleville dès l’hiver prochain.

Un logiciel tout neuf pour le déclenchement d’avalanche Le nouveau logiciel permet d’identifier les zones sécurisées grâce à un code couleur précis pour pouvoir agir sur le domaine skiable, déclencher à distance une avalanche ou envoyer une équipe sur zone pour constater le résultat d'un déclenchement... Couplé avec l'avancée du damage et des prévisions d'ouvertures des remontées mécaniques, cela permet de prendre les bonnes décisions en matière d'ouvertures des pistes. Le logiciel utilise une cartographie précise du domaine skiable et des couloirs avalancheux, élaborée à partir de la mémoire collective, d'un vaste réseau de balises GPS et d'une reconnaissance précise du relief par avion et/ ou hélicoptère. Sa mémoire permet de savoir qui fait quoi, où, quand, avec qui, quel type et combien de produits explosifs sont utilisés.

Blanc comme neige Depuis plusieurs années, Val Thorens dispose de plusieurs dameuses hybrides, consommant moins de carburant et produisant moins de rejets. L’ensemble des machines, hybrides ou non, est équipé de la technologie « Snowsat ». Ce système, avec un GPS embarqué, mesure la hauteur de neige sous la dameuse. Le conducteur a ainsi accès à des données fiables qui lui permettent d’anticiper le manque de neige ou d’éviter de passer deux fois au même endroit en cas de mauvaise visibilité. Ce système permet de gagner du temps en optimisant le damage pour une glisse optimale. Côté glisse, certains ski shops de la station utilisent la technologie Phantom, développée par DPS. Il s’agit d’un nouveau système de fartage permanent qui ne s'altère pas dans le temps et ne laisse aucune particule polluante dans la neige.

The Val Thorens trail department wants to be at the forefront of innovation, especially during rescue operations. This winter, two new state-of-the-art safety features were added to the existing equipment to ensure the prevention, monitoring and safety of public spaces (tracks, roads, paths, snow front...).

A drone to monitor the resort Rescuers can now rely on the services of the "DJI Matrix 210 Version 2", an industrial drone. It is equipped with 2 on-board cameras, one with a thermal spectrum and the other with a zoom that magnifies up to 180 times. The craft can quickly identify an avalanche

zone, detect the exact position of a buried person, zoom in to discover the type of terrain, disseminate information via its loud speaker... This device can save precious minutes and save lives. The track management has planned to offer its services to all its main players in the Belleville Valley as early as next winter.

Brand new software for triggering avalanches This new software allows to identify secure areas thanks to a precise colour code, permitting interventions in ski areas, triggering an avalanche using remote control, or sending a team to the area to check the result after a triggered avalanche... Coupled with an estimation of the amount of damage caused and forecasts for the opening of the ski lifts, this ensures that the right decisions are made regarding accessibility to the slopes. The software uses a map containing all of the ski areas and avalanche corridors, developed from collective memory, a vast network of GPS beacons

and a precise recognition of landform by air and/or helicopter. Its memory allows us to know who does what, where, when, with whom, what type and how many explosives are used.

As white as snow For several years now, Val Thorens has been using hybrid groomers which consume less fuel and are less polluting. All machines included, hybrid or not, are equipped with "Snowsat" technology. This system, with an on-board GPS, measures the height of snow under the groomer. This provides the driver with access to reliable data that allows him to anticipate the lack of snow or to avoid passing twice in the same place in case of poor visibility. This system saves time by optimizing the damage for optimal sliding. For skiers, some ski shops in the resort use â&#x20AC;&#x153;Phantomâ&#x20AC;? technology, developed by DPS. This is a new permanent waxing system that does not change over time, and leaves no polluting particles in the snow.

Служба по обслуживанию трасс Валь Торанса тоже желает быть на пике инноваций, а именно, в работе службы спасения. Этой зимой две новые системы безопасности дополнят оборудование по профилактике, наблюдению и безопасности пространств, открытых для широкой публике (трассы, дороги, тротуары, тропы...).

Беспилотник наблюдает за зоной катания

Новое программное обеспечение для искусственного вызова схода лавин Новое программное обеспечение позволяет определить безопасные зоны благодаря точному цветовому коду, чтобы действовать в зоне катания, вызвать лавину на расстоянии или отправить команду в зону для проверки результата схода лавины. В сочетании с достижениями в утрамбовке и прогнозе открытия подъёмников, это позволяет принимать правильные решения в вопросе открытия трасс. Программа использует точную картографию зоны катания и лавинных коридоров, разработанную на основе коллективной памяти, широкой сети GPS-маяков и точного узнавания рельефа с самолёта и/или вертолёта. Его память позволяет быть в курсе, кто делает, что, где, когда, с кем, какой вид и сколько взрывчатки использовано.

Белый как снег Вот уже несколько лет Валь Торанс использует гибридные ратраки, потребляющие меньше топлива и выбрасывающие меньше вредных веществ. Все машины (и не только гибридные) оснащены технологией «Snowsat» со встроенным GPS, чтобы измерять высоту снега под ратраком. Эти надёжные данные доступны для водителя и позволяют ему избежать нехватки снега или пройти 2 раза по одному месту в случае плохой видимости. Эта система позволяет выиграть время, оптимизируя трамбовку для оптимального скольжения. Некоторые лыжные магазины курорта используют технологию Phantom, это перманентное средство для скользящей поверхности, разработанное брендом DPS. Его свойства со временем не меняются, и оно не оставляет вредных веществ на снегу.

Aux Menuires, la toute nouvelle Maison de l'abeille noire et de la nature « Miellifera » a ouvert ses portes cet hiver. La scénographie présente, de manière ludique et colorée, toute la richesse de la vallée. La vallée des Belleville œuvre activement à la préservation de son patrimoine naturel. Le nouvel espace muséographique a pour vocation de présenter celui-ci au public.

L’abeille noire, une espèce à protéger L’abeille noire est une espèce locale adaptée au milieu alpin. Elle est menacée par l’importation massive de reines et d’essaims étrangers. Un partenariat entre le Parc national de la Vanoise et le CETA Savoie (centre d’études techniques apicoles) a permis de créer un Conservatoire de l’abeille noire, en 2016. Le rucher de fécondation, installé dans la vallée des Encombres, en site isolé, favorise la production de reines d’abeilles noires de Savoie.

Un cadre idéal La Maison de l'abeille noire et de la nature « Miellifera » a ouvert ses portes le 23 décembre. Elle se situe au Plan de l’Eau des Bruyères, en contrebas des Menuires. Le site est très fréquenté en toute saison et facilement accessible. Le musée a été imaginé dans un des anciens chalets d’alpage par l’architecte Emmanuel Ritz (à qui l’on doit notamment le refuge du Lac du Lou). Le chalet a été rénové et agrandi, sans perdre son charme d’origine.

Un site ludique, informatif et interactif La scénographe Katrine Chassaing a imaginé un parcours selon trois séquences thématiques : l’espèce abeille noire, sa vie et la biodiversité de la vallée des Belleville. Le mobilier, inspiré de la thématique de l’abeille, sert de fil conducteur. Le concept scénographique est complété par de grands visuels, favorisant l'immersion du visiteur. En poussant la porte, celui-ci est accueilli par une grosse ruche qui diffuse une odeur de miel et des sons de la nature. La visite dure en moyenne 45 min, dont 20 min de projections.

Les 5 sens en éveil L’abeille noire vit en communauté au sein de colonies. Elle possède des repères et un langage particuliers. Une ruche vivante, entièrement vitrée, permet d’observer des milliers d’abeilles. De nombreux dispositifs ludiques animent la visite : quizz, cadre de ruche à sentir, habit d’apiculteur à essayer, conte à écouter… Dans la dernière salle, les murs sont recouverts d’une cartographie de la vallée qui présente différents acteurs, en rapport avec l'environnement.

Sur grand écran La visite se termine à l’auditorium où sont projetés cinq films : l’abeille noire des Belleville, Esprit Parc national de la Vanoise, sensibilisation aux pratiques hivernales et un regard sur le changement climatique. L’espace boutique met en avant des produits du Parc National de la Vanoise. Les gourmands peuvent déguster 4 miels produits par Kléber Silvestre, apiculteur de la vallée et fervent défenseur de l’abeille noire. Saurez-vous faire la différence entre le miel produit à Saint Marcel, Praranger, Les Encombres ou encore Doucy ?

Cet espace se veut à la fois un lieu d’information et de sensibilisation sur l’abeille noire et sur la biodiversité. Ouvert jusqu’au 25 avril, puis juillet et août, entrée 3€, gratuit pour les moins de 16 ans. Informations : lesmenuires.com

Новое музейное пространство призвано показать это достояние людям.

Охрана европейской тёмной пчелы Тёмная пчела - это местный подвид, адаптированный к альпийской среде. Он находится под угрозой из-за ввоза иностранных маток и пчелиных р о ё в . В с от руд н и ч е с т в е с национальным парком Вануаз и Центром пчеловодческих исследований Савойи в 2016 г. удалось создать Консерваторию тёмной пчелы. Bees and nature in the spotlight In Les Menuires, the new House of the Black Bee and Nature "Miellifera" h a s o p e n e d t h i s w i n t e r. T h e scenography presents, in a playful and colourful way, all the richness of the valley. The Belleville Valley is actively working to preserve its natural heritage, and the new museum space is willing to present it to the public.

The black bee, a species to be protected The black bee is a local species adapted to the alpine environment. It is threatened by the massive importation of queen bees and foreign swarms. A partnership between the Vanoise National Park and the CETA Savoie (center for technical beekeeping studies) led to the creation of a Conservatory of the black bee in 2016. The fertilization apiary, installed in the Vallée des Encombres, in an isolated site, promotes the production of queen black bees in Savoie.

inspired by the theme of the bee, serves as a guiding thread. The scenographic concept is complemented by large visuals, encouraging visitor immersion. As you push the door open, you are greeted by a large beehive that diffuses the smell of honey and the sounds of nature. The visit lasts an average of 45 minutes, including 20 minutes of screenings.

The 5 senses in awakening The black bee lives in community within colonies. They have particular landmarks and language. A living hive, entirely glazed, makes it possible to observe thousands of bees. Many playful devices animate the visit: quizzes, hive frame to be smelt, beekeeper's clothes to be tried on, tales to be listened to... In the last room, the walls are covered with a cartography of the valley which presents different actors in relation to the environment.

On the big screen An ideal environment The House of the black bee and nature "Miellifera" has opened on December 23rd. It is located at Plan de l'Eau des Bruyères, below Les Menuires. The site is very busy in all seasons and easily accessible. The museum was imagined in one of the old mountain pasture chalets by the architect Emmanuel Ritz (to whom we owe in particular the Lac du Lou refuge). The chalet has been renovated and enlarged without losing its original charm.

A fun, informative and interactive site The scenographer Katrine Chassaing has imagined a journey based on three thematic sequences: the black bee species, its life and the biodiversity of the Belleville Valley. The furniture,

The visit ends in the auditorium where five films are screened: the Belleville black bee, the Vanoise National Park Spirit, awareness of winter practices and a look at climate change. En 2020, le Musée des Traditions Populaires de Moûtiers met en avant ses collections de vêtements anciens en organisant une exposition sur le thème « Se vêtir autrefois ». Dans le numéro de Février 2017 de votre magazine préféré, nous avions évoqué quelques notes sur les costumes de Savoie ; l’exposition de cette année permet d’évoquer quelques « accessoires », plus particulièrement les chaussures qui n’ont d’ailleurs rien d’accessoire lorsque l’on est un agriculteur de montagne !

Les souliers en cuir de brouette ! Au hit-parade de la chaussure, le sabot a sans doute été celle qui fut la plus portée dans les campagnes, en Savoie, et bien au-delà. Ces chaussures de bois se retrouvent, avec quelques variantes, dans toutes les provinces. Le mot est d’origine picarde et les linguistes pensent qu’il s’agit d’un « mot valise », fruit de la contraction de « savate » et de « bot » (la forme ancienne de « botte ») d’où sa-bot. Mais, au sud de la Loire, il faut plutôt parler « d’esclô », terme que l’on retrouve dans la plupart des patois méridionaux et qui renvoie au vieux français « esclop ». Les plus réputés des sabots étant ceux du Limousin, on peut terminer ce voyage linguistique en disant, qu’en argot, les sabots s’appellent « les escarpins du Limousin », mais la plus belle expression argotique est sans doute celle qui qualifie nos sabots de « souliers en cuir de brouette ».

Les gestes du sabotier On a utilisé de multiples bois pour faire les sabots selon les régions concernées. Dans notre région, le plus usité était le hêtre (encore appelé « fayard », un terme franco-provençal qui nous vient directement du latin fagus). Autres matériaux, le bouleau et aussi le pin qui donnaient des sabots très légers. On peut encore citer le noyer et l’érable-plane, ce dernier étant le bois souvent utilisé par les boisseliers des Bauges.

Les socques Le sabotier commence à dégrossir la bûche de bois dans laquelle il va faire naître le sabot en s’aidant d’une petite hache et d’une herminette (hache recourbée). Puis, il installe sur un banc qui lui sert d’établi, le billot ou plot de sabotier. Sur ce billot, un anneau permet de fixer les paroirs. Ce sont de grands couteaux qui vont précisément servir à donner au sabot sa forme extérieure. Des paroirs spéciaux sont utilisés pour certaines parties, par exemple, la talonnière dont le nom explique la fonction. Une fois l’extérieur taillé, il faut creuser. Pour cela, le sabotier va utiliser les tarières, cuillers et gouges. Enfin, les boutoirs permettent de donner un fini impeccable faisant que l’intérieur du sabot soit bien lisse et ne risque pas de blesser le pied avec des échardes oubliées. Cette litanie d’outils et d’opérations ne laisse pas de place à l’improvisation. L’art du sabotier est un art aux gestes codifiés et économisés. Pour faire un bon compagnon sabotier, pas moins de six ans d’apprentissage étaient nécessaires, un des temps les plus longs pour apprendre un métier dans cette société d’autrefois. Le bon compagnon se reconnaissait au fait qu’il pouvait réaliser jusqu’à cinq paires de sabots en une journée. L’ensemble des outils cités ont été pieusement recueillis par le Musée qui les présente dans son exposition permanente.

Même si le sabot fut le plus répandu, le génie créatif de l’homme, et plus particulièrement du montagnard, inventa mieux que le sabot ! Celui-ci a des avantages indéniables, en particulier maintenir le pied à l’abri du froid et de l’humidité. Il a cependant des inconvénients en pays de montagne, ne serait-ce que sa rigidité ou sa semelle trop lisse et donc glissante, ce qui explique pourquoi on les garda plus longtemps dans la Bresse qu’en Savoie ou en Dauphiné. En montagne, on a préféré les socques ou, si cela parle mieux, les galoches. On s’interroge sur l’origine linguistique du terme. Certains veulent le rattacher à « gallicana », pour en faire une chaussure des anciens gaulois. D’autres qui, linguistiquement parlant, sont sans doute plus proches de la vérité, font remonter la galoche au latin populaire « galopia », lui-même décalqué du grec « kalopous » qui signifie pied de bois. Quant au patois « sôcà », il renvoie au vieux français : « socques » (= brodequins). L’ancêtre des galoches sont les chaussures à patins que portaient les paysans du moyen-âge : il s’agissait d’une épaisse semelle de bois que l’on attachait au pied par des lanières, le pied étant mis dans des chaussures basses ou même des chaussettes très épaisses.

Les galochiers de village Les galochiers de village étaient des agriculteurs, comme leurs concitoyens, qui avaient acquis un savoir-faire reconnu et qui assuraient une bonne partie de la demande locale. Pour comprendre leur travail, il faut d’abord présenter la galoche absente de nos quotidiens depuis une soixantaine d’années. La semelle est en bois. On utilise, là aussi, le noyer, l’érableplane et le hêtre. Les deux premiers, légers et « chauds », étaient particulièrement recherchés. Le prix élevé du noyer et la raréfaction de l’érable-plane, ont conduit progressivement à l’utilisation du hêtre. Sous cette semelle, l’on va donc placer de gros clous rayés, « les taches », qui faisaient le bonheur des enfants lorsqu’ils sautaient sur des pierres en faisant jaillir des étincelles, mais aussi leur malheur, le soir venu, lorsque le père de famille vérifiait l’état des clous et constatait une usure prématurée. Pour fabriquer la semelle, le galochier utilise les mêmes outils que le sabotier : hache, herminette, paroirs maniés sur le billot. Ensuite le galochier devait assembler les différentes parties de la tige (le haut de la chaussure) : les quartiers et les oreilles. Pour faciliter ce travail, le galochier utilise des formes : des objets en bois qui ont la forme du pied et sur lesquels il peut monter la tige aux bonnes dimensions.

Les manufactures La très forte demande a fait naître, depuis fort longtemps, des fabriques de galoches. Cette fabrication est attestée dès le 15e siècle à Romans et à Bourg-de-Péage où l’on trouve des corporations « de sabatiers et de regrolleurs ». Dans cette région, où cet artisanat fut très prospère, le travail s’organisait autour de petits ateliers qui préparaient le cuir et débitaient le bois pour les semelles. Les ouvriers venaient alors s’approvisionner et faisaient le montage chez eux ; on découvre donc l’ancêtre du télétravail ! Si Romans et Bourg-de-Péage restèrent des centres importants pour les chaussures, vers la fin du 18e siècle, c’est Saint-Symphoriend’Ozon qui devient le grand centre galochier (entre Lyon et Vienne, près de Givors). Cela vaudra à cette commune, au moment de la Révolution, en un temps où l’on a débaptisé de nombreux noms de cités faisant référence aux saints, d’être appelée « Chausse-Armée » ; l’armée révolutionnaire étant, bien sûr, chaussée de galoches. Au 19e siècle, c’est surtout la Savoie et le Dauphiné qui vont devenir de gros producteurs. Les galoches étaient ensuite vendues en France par des colporteurs, et cette provenance faisait que l’on appelait souvent les galoches, « des savoyardes ». Ce développement permettant des exportations sera aidé par la mécanisation : des machines sont inventées pour fabriquer plus rapidement les semelles. Au début du 20e siècle, la Manufacture de Bois de Galoches Pellarin Frères, à Cognin, emploie une trentaine d’ouvriers et fabrique, chaque année, environ trois millions de paires de semelles. À Albertville, la Manufacture de Galoches Gaillard Mercier fonctionnera jusqu’en 1951.

As comfortable as an old shoe In 2020, the Popular Traditions museum of Moutiers showcases its collection of antique clothing by organising an exhibition on the theme “Dressed like the olden days”. In your favourite magazine’s February 2017 issue, we mentioned a few remarks on the Savoie costume; this year’s exhibition makes it possible to cover a few “accessories”, more precisely shoes which are no accessory when one is a mountain farmer!

Shoes made of wood! At the footwear hit-parade, the clog, or sabot, was without a doubt the most worn in the countryside, not only in Savoie but in places way beyond too. These wooden shoes could be found, with slight variations, in every province. Linguists think that the word “sabot”, originally from the Picard region of France, is a “portmanteau word”, blending the sounds and combining the meaning of the word “savate” and “bot” (the old way of spelling “botte”), hence sa-bot. However, south of the Loire, this shoe is usually known as “esclô”. This term is in fact used in most meridional patois, referring to the old french for “esclop”. The most renowned clogs are those from the Limousin. This explains why in slang, sabots are called “les escarpins du Limousin”; Limousin pumps. Nevertheless, the most beautiful way of describing wooden clogs in the french language is by referring to them as “souliers en cuir de brouette”.

The Clog maker in action Regions worked with different types of wood to make the clogs. In our region, beech was the most commonly used (still called “fayard”, a franco-provencal term which comes directly from the latin fagus). Other materials included birch and pine wood which made clogs lighter. Walnut and Norway maple trees were also used, the latter being the wood often used by the Bauges carpenters. With the help of a small axe and an adze (a tool similar to an axe, with an arched blade), the cordwainer starts to chisel the log of wood from which the clog will be born. Then he settles on a bench that he uses as a workbench, the butcher block or shoe maker’s stud. On this block, a ring helps to secure the boards. Large knives will precisely serve to give the clog its external shape. Specific lever knives are used for different parts of the shoe, for example the “talonniere”, a lever knife used to shape the hoof of the clog. Once the outside of the shoe is carved, the shoe maker needs to dig. For this, he will use augers, carving spoons and gouges. Finally, the heel chisel helps refine flawlessly the interior of the clog by ensuring it is nice and smooth and cannot injure someone with missed splinters.This litany of tools and manoeuvres does not leave much room for improvisation. The art of shoemaking is one where each step in the procedure is codified and reserved. No less than six years of learning where necessary to become a professional clog maker. This was one of the longest duration of study for a trade in society of that time. The sign of a good shoe maker was the fact that he could make up to five pairs of clogs in a day. All of the tools cited above have been piously collected by the museum and are displayed in its permanent exhibition.

The “Socques” Even if the sabot was the most widespread, Man’s creative genius, and more specifically that of the mountain dweller, invented something even better than the sabot! Of course, the sabot has certain undeniable advantages, in particular keeping feet sheltered from the cold and the damp. However, it also has some drawbacks in mountainous areas, being very rigid and having a flat and slippery sole. This explains why the sabots were used for longer in the Bresse region than in Savoie ou the Dauphiné. In the mountains, we preferred what was called “socques”, sometimes better known as “galoches”. But where does this term come from? Some attach it to the word “gallicana” and consider that the shoe

Слово пришло из Пикардии и лингвисты думают, что речь идёт о слиянии слов « savate » (старый стоптанный башмак) « bot » (старая форма от слова «сапоги»), из которого получилось - sa-bot (сабо). Но на юге от Луары скорее речь идёт о «d’esclo», термин, который находят в большинстве южных диалектов, и который восходит к старофранцузскому « esclop » (сабо). Самые знаменитые сабо делались в Лимузене, поэтому можно закончить лингвистическую поездку сказав, что на арго «сабо» называются «туфли из Лимузена». Но самое красивое название вероятно - «башмаки из кожи тележки».

Движения сапожника В разных регионах использовались различные виды дерева для изготовления сабо. В нашем регионе самым распространенным был бук. Также их делали из берёзы и сосны, из которой получались очень лёгкие сабо. Можно ещё назвать ореховое дерево и остролистный клён, который часто использовали бондари из массива Бож. Сапожник начинал с того, что обтёсывал деревянное полено, из которого получались сабо, с помощью топорика и тесла (тесло: топор с изогнутым лезвием). Потом он ставил чурбан на скамью, которая служила ему верстаком. На этом чурбане было кольцо, позволяющее закреплять тесло. Для придания сабо внешней формы использовали большие ножи. Для некоторых частей брали специальное тесло, например, для пяток. После того как заканчивали внешнюю сторону, нужно было выдалбливать. Для этого брали ложечный бурав или напарье. Наконец, резцами заканчивали обработку внутри башмака, чтобы было гладко и не было заноз, которыми можно поранить ногу. Этот длинный перечень инструментов и этапов обработки не оставляет места для импровизации. Искусство сапожника состояло из установленных и дозированных движений. Для того, чтобы стать хорошим сапожником нужно было учиться не меньше 6 лет, один из самых долгих циклов обучения профессии в те времена. Хороший мастер мог сделать до 5 пар сабо за день. Все эти инструменты были собраны в Музее и являются частью постоянной экспозиции.

Сандалии на деревянной подошве Даже если самыми распространенными были сабо, творческий гений человека, а особенно горца, придумал лучше, чем сабо! У сабо есть неоспоримые преимущества: защищать ноги от холода и влаги, но есть и недостатки, например, они слишком жесткие и скользит подошва. Это объясняет почему их дольше носили в регионе Бресс, чем в Савойе или Дофине. В горах предпочитали сандалии или, по-другому - галоши (башмаки на деревянной подошве).

Des chaussures économiques Tout l’art du galochier consistait dans l’utilisation la plus économique du cuir : pour cela, il s’agissait d’abord de faire en sorte qu’il y ait le moins de chutes possibles en plaçant au mieux les différents éléments, même les inévitables déchets devaient servir. On profitait des petits ronds de cuir pour extraire « les gleitailles », c’est-à-dire les lacets. Pour cela, on utilisait un petit tranchet que l’on

Others, who, linguistically speaking, are probably closer to the truth, trace the word back to the popular lating word “galopia” itself from the greek “kalopous” which means wooden feet. As to the patois “sôcà”, it refers to the old french: “socques” (=boots). The ancestor of the “galoches” are the skate shoes which peasants during the Middle Ages used to wear: a thick wooden sole which one attached to one's feet with straps, the feet being in flat shoes or even just very thick socks.

The village “galoches” makers The village “galoches” makers were farmers, like their fellow citizens, which had acquired a certain recognised knowhow and assured a good part of the local demand. In order to understand their work, it is essential to present what the “galoche” is, a shoe that has not been part of our everyday for the last sixty years. The sole was wooden. Walnut, Norway Maple and Beech were used. The first two types of wood were very sought after, both being light and “warm” wood. The high price paid for Walnut wood and the rarefaction of Norway Maple progressively led to Beech being used more. Big striped nails were placed under the sole. These round markings would make children very happy when they jumped on stones and sparkles shot out from the bottom of their shoes. But the nails would also make children unhappy when evening came around and their father checked the state of their nails, noting the premature wear of their shoes. To make the sole, the galoche maker used the same tools as the clog maker: an axe, an adze and lever knives handled on a wooden block. Then, the galoche maker assembled the different parts of the shoe upper (the top of the shoe): quarters and ears. To facilitate this work, the galoche maker uses different shapes: wooden objects with the mould of the foot and on which he can construct the shoe uppers to the right dimensions.

The factories A huge demand for galoches saw the emergence of many factories. This manufacturing is attested since the 15th century in Romans and Bourg-dePéage where shoemaker guilds could be found. In this region where this craft was thriving, work was organised around small workshops which prepared the leather and turned out the wood for the soles. The workers came to these

If romans and Bourg-dePeage remained important centres for shoemaking, near the end of the 18th century, it was Saint Symphorien d’Ozon which became the big centre for galoches (in between Lyon and Vienne, close to Givors). The commune earned the name “Chausse-Armée” at the time of the french Revolution, when towns with the names of Saints were desacralised. The name “ChausseArmée”, the army with shoes, refers of course to the fact that the revolutionary army wore galoshes. During the 19th century, it was mostly the Savoie and Dauphiné regions that would become the biggest producers. Galoshes were then sold in France by hawkers. Because of the galoshes origins at that time, they were often called “des savoyardes”. This development allowing exports was helped by the age of mechanisation: machines were invented to produce soles at a faster pace. At the start of the 20th century, the Manufacture de bois de Galoches Pellarin Frères in Cognin employed about thirty workers and made roughly three million pairs of soles every year. In Albertville, the Manufacture de Galoches Gaillard Mercier would operate until 1951.

Thrifty shoes The art of the galoches maker consisted of using aslittle leather as possible: for this he had to make sure there were as little drops as possible by ensuring each element was placed well. But even the waste had to be used for something. Small circles of leather were used to extract the “gleitailles”, that is, the laces. To do this, the shoe maker used a small slicer to prick the leather piece and make it turn slowly to gradually get a lace. The galoches show us a way of producing by creating as little waste as possible. This type of production is a long way from what we know today. In today’s society, a good object is one that does not last very long. For industries to keep operating we need to keep consuming, and regularly. In the old days, a good object was one that we could keep for as long as possible. For this, one did not hesitate to get things mended and repaired. Patched up galoches are proof of this. Thrifty and ecological: short production chains, natural and long lasting materials… When will the galoche be back in fashion?

Autrefois, le bon objet était celui que l’on pouvait garder le plus longtemps possible. Pour cela, on n’hésitait pas à faire réparer. Des galoches, rapiécées de toute part en sont bien la preuve. Économiques et donc écologiques : circuit court, matériaux naturels et durables… à quand le retour de la galoche ?

Откуда возникло это слово «галоши»? Некоторые видят в нём «gallicana», обувь бывших галлов. Другие, что вероятно ближе к правде, доходят до вульгарной латыни «galopia», слово, которое само происходит от греческого «kalopous» - деревянная нога. Что же касается местного говора и слова «socques», то оно происходит из старофранцузского: «socques» (= грубый башмак).

Он был организован вокруг небольших мастерских, которые подготавливали кожу и отделывали дерево для подошвы. Рабочие приходили за заготовками и собирали башмаки у себя дома: вот где была первая удаленная работа!

Деревенские башмачники

Романс и Бург-де-Пеаж остаются основными центрами по производству обуви, но в конце 18 века появляется новый центр, где делают башмаки - Сен Сенфориен д’Озон (между Лионом и Вьен, рядом с Живором). Б л а год а р я это м у в п е р и од Революции, когда меняли топонимы, включающие в себя имена святых, город назвали «Обуй армию», т.к. революционная армия действительно была обута в башмаки.

Эти мастера были крестьянами, как и их земляки, которые научились этому ремеслу и, в основном, сами справлялись с заказами местных жителей.

В 19 веке основными производителями стали Савойя и Дофине. Коробейники продавали башмаки по всей Франции, и их называли «савуаярд» по месту производства.

Предки башмаков - обувь с коньками, которые носили крестьяне в средние века: это толстая деревянная подошва, которую привязывали к ноге ремешками. Нога при этом одевалась в низкие ботинки или даже очень толстые носки.

Чтобы понять их работу, нужно сначала представить себе эту «галошу», которой уже нет в нашем обиходе более 60-ти лет. Для изготовления подошвы из дерева использовали так же ореховое дерево, остролистный клён и бук. Особенно ценились два первых вида, т. к. были лёгкими и «тёплыми». Высокая цена на ореховое дерево и постепенное исчезновение клёна сделали бук основным материалом. Внизу подошвы вбивали большие гвозди с круглыми шляпками, которые веселили детей, когда они прыгали по камням, т.к. от этого появлялись искры. Но они же были и источником печали, когда вечером отец проверял состояние гвоздей и видел, что они слишком стёрты. Для изготовления подошвы использовались те же инструменты, что и для сабо: топор, тесло, чурбан, резцы. Потом мастер должен был собрать разные части верха. Чтобы облегчить свой труд, сапожник использовал болванки: деревянные предметы в форме ноги, на которые можно надеть верх нужного размера.

Промышленное производство Большой спрос породил появление фабрик по производству башмаков. Документальное подтверждения находят производства 15 века в Романсе и Бург-де-Пеаже. В этом регионе промысел процветал.

Этому развитию, которое позволило в ы в о з и т ь т о в а р , п о м о гл а механизация: были изобретены машины для производства подошвы. В начале 20 века Башмачная фабрика Братьев Пелларен в Коньене насчитывала около 30 рабочих и выпускала каждый год о к ол о 3 м л н п а р п од о ш в . В Альбервиле Башмачная фабрика Гайар Мерсье проработала до 1951 г.

Экономичная обувь Искусство башмачника заключалось в том, чтобы экономично использовать кожу: для этого нужно было, сначала уменьшить количество обрезков. Но даже отходы находили применение. Из маленьких кружков кожи делали шнурки. Для этого брали маленький сапожный нож, протыкали им кусок кожи и медленно поворачивали его, постепенно отрезая шнурок. Нужно, чтобы промышленность работала, чтобы регулярно производили и потребляли. Раньше хороший предмет хранили как можно дольше. Для этого его часто чинили. Залатанные б а ш м а к и д о к а з ы в а ют это . Экономичные и экологичные: короткий производственный цикл, натуральные и долговечные материалы... когда вернутся башмаки?
