Madelyn largely – and often entirely – takes on the responsibility of her own lessons. She is a faithful worker in whatever job she is given! Both this year and last, Madelyn was one of two students who participated in a teen mentorship program that I created for them at the barn. The girls built character in and out of the saddle by caring for the barn one morning a week with greater independence, spending time rehabilitating an injured horse, assisting with younger riders, traveling with me to off-site teaching and growing through a weekly Bible study.
