Expansion of AUS engineering college approved His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of American University of Sharjah (AUS), has expressed satisfaction at the growth and advancement of the university as well as at its future plans. His remarks came on the occasion of the university’s Board of Trustees meeting held on campus today, June 8. The Sharjah Ruler reviewed a number of initiatives approved by the board for the forthcoming year. He said that the university was committed to following the course set by its vision and mission and, therefore, all its plans and initiatives were conceived keeping that in mind. His Highness also thanked members of the board for their commitment to the university. The board also approved the appointment of three new board members to a three-year term commencing Fall 2014. The three are: Khalid Al Falih, President and CEO of Saudi Aramco; Dame Sandra Dawson, Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, UK; and Dale Knobel, former president of Denison University, USA, Dr. Hochstettler also said that the board approved the term extension of Charles Cotton and Baroness Onora O’Neill as board members.
