Meet Legacy Donor Betty Chiao As a lifetime animal lover with an affinity for special needs rescues, I have always depended on the Schwarzman AMC. I have been able to adopt some of the more critical, special needs rescues because I know I have a team at AMC whom I can rely on to give them the medical care and support they need to live a spoiled and enriched life—and this enriches mine. I named AMC as the beneficiary of my will to ensure that the cutting-edge medical treatments, state-of-the-art equipment, innovative techniques, and compassionate care afforded to my fur babies will save the lives of rescues and special needs pets even after I am gone. That will be my legacy. The Ellin Prince Speyer Legacy Society allows me to participate in special events and gain additional insight into the specialty work happening at AMC. This fueled my interest in becoming even more involved, so I volunteer as a community advisor to the Usdan Institute for Animal Health Education. I am proud that my legacy will help AMC continue enriching and improving the health and lives of pets and the people who love them. Yours will too.

Planned Giving YOUR LEGACY AT SCHWARZMAN ANIMAL MEDICAL CENTER

Our Mission Founded in 1910, the Stephen & Christine Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC) is a non-profit academic veterinary hospital dedicated to providing compassionate and collaborative care to animals, and to leading the advancement of veterinary medicine through clinical research and education. Schwarzman AMC relies on the generosity of our donors to sustain key components of our mission: charitable care, education, and research. • Schwarzman AMC’s 13 Community Funds assist pets whose owners are unable to afford either basic or life-saving care. These funds also support rescue animals, guide dogs, and retired police and military dogs with free or subsidized care. • Schwarzman AMC is the largest postgraduate veterinary teaching institution in the world. Over 2,500 residents and interns have trained at Schwarzman AMC, with many going on to become board-certified specialists, clinical researchers, and educators, ensuring a legacy of veterinary excellence that extends far beyond our hospital’s walls. • Schwarzman AMC veterinarians regularly conduct clinical trials and publish research studies in the most respected journals. Our research initiatives include collaborations with prominent human medical centers such as Weill Cornell Medicine, The Rockefeller University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and NYU Langone Health. • Schwarzman AMC’s Usdan Institute for Animal Health Education delivers up-to-date information about pet health, not only to those who use our clinical services, but to pet owners worldwide.
