by Seth Halpern Editor I always believed that God heals. I’ve heard the miraculous testimonies. I’ve heard about the revivals and healing services where many received healing at the same service. I’ve heard speakers who went around the country (or even the world) telling their story of God’s healing in their body. I have to be honest, I have often been skeptical, not unlike the skepticism I might have for a magic act. Now, I am not at all in any way comparing a magician to the Almighty God, so please don ‘t send me nasty notes accusing me of such. I am merely stating that I haven’t always believed every healing testimony at face value without some evidence. Remember, I am a journalist.

I fully believe that God CAN and DOES heal people of various infirmities, just as much as He provides finances at the right time and restores relationships that are broken. I just haven’t always believed it simply because someone told me or saw it on the internet. But seeing is believing and when you see it for yourself and it is undeniable, it does something to you. Most of us have experienced the fairly everyday trials of sickness and pain. Sometimes, we pray for it and ask others to pray and soon it is gone. We praise

God (rightly so) and move on with our lives. But sometimes… the incredible, miraculous healing occurs right “on our street”. That’s what happened at our small local church. Let me tell you the story of a man at our church. His name is Kelly. About two months ago (at the time of this writing), Kelly was spending time near Ellis Lake in Marysville. Kelly spent a lot of time there. He said that God spoke to him often and that He wanted Kelly to spend time praying, reading the Bible, singing, and

talking to people about the Lord as they walked by. Kelly had a lot time to do this at Ellis Lake because he was disabled and not working. He had been suffering from epilepsy for years and had many, many seizures. This particular day that Kelly was at the lake, he had a seizure and fell into the lake! At some point a passerby spotted him and called 911 to get him to the hospital. No one seems to know how long Kelly was in Ellis Lake or how much of the polluted water he drank. All that was known was that he was on life support and the doctors gave him little chance to pull through. Exactly a week later, I received a call from Kelly’s brother who used to attend
