January 2022

By Seth Halpern/Editor In a season of a prolonged pandemic, tremendous sickness and loss, social and political unrest, and increasing economic uncertainty, it is easy to feel hopeless. Fortunately, a pursuit of God and a regular (and deep) diet of the Word of God can lead us out of hopelessness and into a rock-steady place of Hope. One of the most quoted Bible verses comes at the end of what is known as the “Love Chapter”. Sandwiched between two chapters in which the Apostle Paul discusses spiritual gifts, Romans chapter 13 is perhaps the most beloved chapter in the Word of God. After describing what “Love” looks like in everyday life, Paul finishes this beautiful chapter in verse 13 saying “So now faith, hope, and love

abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” It’s not surprising that Paul would call Love the greatest of the three since He spent the chapter discussing it. But what of Faith and Hope? If these three characteristics are siblings, then Faith and Hope are twins.

Hope is clearly tied to Faith in such a way that a study of the word and concept of Hope is difficult to isolate from Faith. Yet, Hope is used hundreds of times in God’s word, so it must be significant. I believe the difference is in nuance. Just as there is a great deal of discussion about Love, there is also ample description and examples of Faith. We have Hebrews 11, the beloved “Hall of Faith”, filled with examples of those mighty in faith.

An Open Letter To The Students Of Archbishop Riordan High School

Page 8

Additionally, the book of Hebrews acts as a Bible Dictionary/Commentary in the first verse of the chapter, telling us “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” There we have it. Love is clearly described as “sacrifice” with Jesus being

the greatest example of one giving up His “rights” and indeed, His very life, for the sake of others including you and me! Next, Faith is described as believing, trusting, holding onto the “author and

finisher of our faith” (Heb 12:2). Faith believes and doesn’t doubt the Word of God, God’s provision for our daily needs, etc. But what of “Hope”? If the threeFaith, Hope, and Love were personified as siblings noted earlier, then Hope might be the middle who is often overlooked! Could this be the case? Remember, Paul said that there are three (implying that these are the three greatest Godly characteristics). Hope is clearly tied to Faith in such a way that a study of the word and concept of Hope is difficult to isolate from Faith. Yet, Hope is used hundreds of times in

INSPIRATION By Paula McBride In my younger days, when I mowed the lawn, I tried very hard to make straight lines through the grass so my yard would look perfect. My efforts were less than stellar, so I was relieved to learn that innately, humans can’t walk in a straight line. I found out on the internet (where else?) that studies were done as far back as the 1920’s where subjects were blindfolded and asked to walk in a straight line. When the examiner mapped the walker’s route, inevitably the path started straight, then angled off and became circular. Various reasons for this peculiarity lent no explanation. Being left- or right-handed, or left- or right-brained didn’t matter, and having one limb a different length made no difference in the walker’s ability to make a straight path. The only thing that allowed the walker success on his path was to have the blindfold removed and to focus on a fixed point while he walked. For me, fixing my eyes on a lovely redwood tree instead of the mower improved my straight-line skills immensely. We know that there’s more to walking than putting one foot in front of the

Walk Straight

other. A secondary dictionary definition reads “to conduct oneself or behave in a particular manner.” One’s walk is the daily conduct of one’s life; the habitual way or direction of one’s life. Sadly, many conduct their lives as if they were blindfolded. The apostle, Paul, explained why this is so when he wrote, “They are

darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts” (Ephesians 4:18). That’s a grim pronouncement, but in His grace, God provided a point of focus, His Son, Jesus Christ. What does a straight walk look like?

A straight walk is careful. “See (be careful) then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,” Paul writes in Ephesians 5:15. Circumspectly means watchful and alert. It refers to careful attention especially regarding the dangers and deceptions that continually assault us. Being careful carries the idea of looking around so as not to stumble. In these days of competing ideas, we must focus on God’s Word to carefully discern and practice truth. A straight walk is also a worthy walk. “I…beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace,” Paul writes to the Ephesians (4:1-3). In our practical day-to-day lives, our behavior models Christ, our example. As we walk into a new year, let’s make sure of our focus. Hebrews 12:23 encourages us: “fixing our eyes on Jesus…for the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him…so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” When Jesus fills our vision, we will be able to walk straight into a blessed 2022.

Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Matthew 7:13-14 ESV THE AMBASSADOR ? ? ? ? ? ?

The purpose of The Ambassador is to pursue the great commission of Christ by making disciples and to encourage, inform, challenge and connect the local body of Christ. We believe in the inspiration and authority of the Bible as the written word of God. We believe that God exists as One, in three distinct persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that the atoning work of Christ (His death) on the cross and His resurrection is the ONLY means of salvation and the only way to Eternal Life in Heaven. Crying Baby By Christy Boals www.gracefilledpurpose.com I was in the store the other day and caught myself looking around when I heard a baby cry. Even though my youngest child is now 6, my ears still perk up when I hear a crying baby somewhere. Maybe that mother’s instinct will never leave me. It made me think about God, and how He always hears our cries, too. There is a very sweet verse in the Bible that compares a nursing mother forgetting the baby she is holding with God being able to forget us. As unlikely as it would be for a mother to forget the baby she is nursing, God says it is even less likely, in fact impossible, for Him to forget us! The Bible actually goes on to record God as saying that He has engraved us on the palms of His hands. As a busy mother, I know what that means too.

INSPIRATION Bible Word Search

I am always getting on my kids about not drawing on themselves with pens and markers, with little success I might add. However, even in this day of handy note-taking apps on my phone, if I really need to remember something, I write it on the back of my hand. To me this shows how important we are to God, He keeps our names there where He can see them always. T h i s is all so comforting to me in those times when I am weeping alone, when it feels like no one understands or hears me. I can know for sure that my God does hear me. He has written me on His hand and holds me close. "But Zion said, ‘The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.’ ‘Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands." Isaiah 49:13-16

LIFE MATTERS presented by Yuba-Sutter Right To Life An Open Letter To The Students Of Archbishop Riordan High School by Salvatore J. Cordileone The following is a response by Salvatore J. Cordileone, Archbishop of San Francisco to the student body of Archbishop Reardan Catholic School after they walked out on a Pro-Life Speaker.

from your own, even points of view with which you strongly disagree. I wish that is what those of you who walked out of the speech by a pro-life activist recently would have done. This action put on full display one of the blind spots of youth due to young people’s lack of extended life experience: gullibility. Let me explain. While every generation has valued science and contributed to its advancement, your generation, more than any other in the past, looks to science as a guide for navigating oneself through life. Let’s then look at what science has to say about abortion. Abortion is the killing of a human life. This is a scientific fact. The fetus in the

mother’s womb is a unique, growing human being, with its own unique DNA. The method of killing depends on the stage of pregnancy and type of abortion, but often involves such techniques as dismembering the limbs, crushing the skull, and burning the body. No matter the method, abortion is a horrendously violent act. This is not hyperbole. It is scientific fact. Science is a very important guide for us, but it is not the only one—nor the most important, for that matter, since the knowledge we acquire from science is always evolving. Abortion, just as any other major social issue, has many other dimensions to it: political, societal,

Dear Students of Archbishop Riordan High School, Every stage of life has its blessings and challenges, its gifts to offer the broader society and its blind spots. As young people, you are idealistic, full of energy to be advocates for justice and changing the world into a better place. It is a joy for me as your archbishop to see this energetic idealism in you when I visit your school. This is a great blessing, and it is the gift that you offer to the rest of us. However, you still have much growing and learning to do; much success and failure, joy and suffering lie ahead for you—and learning as well. To be learned is to seek truth that is given to us by God. My prayer as your archbishop is that you will be open to learning and growing in your knowledge, and especially open to hearing and trying to understand points of view different

emotional, spiritual, relational, economic, and so forth. Primarily, though, it is, like any other major social issue, a moral issue. To the young women I say: Your fertility is a blessing to be cherished, not a problem to be “fixed” or an appliance with an on-and-off switch to be flipped at will. God has given you the awesome gift of being able to conceive and bring to the light of day a new, unique human being, with an immortal soul. I’m old enough to remember a time when our society cherished this gift and protected it; indeed, in effect, society organized itself around it. It is true that back then women were deprived of many opportunities that they now enjoy, and this is progress to be celebrated. However, it should not come at the cost of women having to cancel out this awesome gift. To the young men I say: There used to be a time when, if a man did something that caused inconvenience in his life, he would be a real man and take responsibility for it. It was also much more common for a man to respect a woman as his equal, and not use her for his own selfish pleasure. He would not engage in an act by which

Continued from Page 8: "An Open Letter To The Students Of Archbishop Riordan High School" he might become a father unless he was ready to take responsibility for that: a life-long commitment of fidelity to the woman with whom he fathers his children, and of caring for the children they together bring into the world. You still have a ways to go before you mature into full manhood. If you want to remain a boy forever, then spend your life caring only about yourself and every little immediate pleasure that you desire, because to be a real man requires a life of sacrifice and virtue. It also means acting responsibly by showing respect toward women as your true equals and cherishing and respecting that awesome gift she has of bringing new life into the world. To all of you I say: Do not be victims of the culture. There are powerful forces in our country that use slogans to co-opt you into being agents of their own selfserving agendas. You must see through the lies. Abortion “providers” are not for choice: Every birth for them is a lost sale. If they were for choice, why are they not providing opportunities for women in crisis pregnancies the means to make a choice for life? They also say that they are for women, but where are they when women who are dealing with the pain of the abortion experience need healing? Why are women in this situation not even allowed to talk about it, but must hold the

pain inside, sinking deeper and deeper into their grief and depression? Who does she turn to when she finally has the courage to seek healing? She turns to the Church. It is only people of faith who provide her this opportunity—and almost always our fellow Catholics. I could not be prouder of them. You have not heard this because there is a culture of silence around it, but those of us in pastoral ministry have all too often heard the lament from postabortive women: “I didn’t want to go through with it, but I felt like I had no choice.” This removes the mask from the lie of “pro-choice.” It is also why abortion “providers” will lie to a woman about what is going on inside of her body,

telling her it is only a clump of cells and not a growing, unique baby in her womb. If you doubt that that’s the case, look at some 3-D sonograms. Who are the ones who are really for choice? Once again, it is people of faith. It is people of faith who run crisis pregnancy clinics that give women the support they need to bring their child to birth, and continue to accompany them after birth: free health care; diapers, blankets, formula; making available psychological and spiritual counseling; walking her through the adoption process, if that is her choice; helping her obtain a job, if that is her choice. It is people of faith who understand that the answer to a woman in a crisis pregnancy is not the

violence of abortion but love for both mother and child. And once again, I could not be prouder of my fellow believers who provide and support these loving, life-giving services that give real hope to women who are feeling alone and abandoned. Those of us who are getting closer to the final stages of life also have our own gifts to offer and blind spots. We can become cynical and apathetic after experiences of betrayal, deception, and failure. But we also have much life experience from which you can learn. My earnest hope is that you will cultivate your idealistic energy for justice, while learning to see through so many lies of the culture in which we are living. Do not fool yourselves, though: Advocating for justice in an unjust society is not glamorous. Indeed, it will make you social outcasts, not welcomed in the circles of polite society, much less of the socially elite. You will be scorned, mocked, and ridiculed. You will have to develop very thick skin. Is it worth it? Think of the abolitionists of the mid19th century, or the advocates of civil rights of the mid-20th century: They did not fit into the societies of their times, advocating for politically unpopular and unfashionable causes. They risked,

‘American Underdog’ movie: From supermarket stocker to Super Bowl MVP By Rusty Wright Assist News Service Do life’s challenges ever get you discouraged? NFL Hall-of-Famer Kurt Warner’s wild journey from castoff to superstar could inspire you to keep pursuing your dreams. In 1999-2000, quarterback Warner emerged from obscurity to lead the St. Louis Rams to victory in Super Bowl XXXIV. Named the league’s Most Valuable Player and Super Bowl MVP, he set performance records en route to football’s summit. “Bags to riches” But five years earlier he was making $5.50 per hour stocking shelves nightly at the Cedar Falls, Iowa, Hy-Vee grocery store. Warner’s “bags to riches” story is the subject of Lionsgate’s compelling film opening Christmas Day (USA). Faith, family and determination fueled his rise. American Underdog stars Zachary Levi (Shazam!) as Kurt Warner; Academy Award® winner Anna Paquin (The Piano, X-Men) as his wife Brenda; and Dennis Quaid (A Dog’s Journey, Soul Surfer) as head coach Dick Vermeil. The Erwin Brothers (I Can Only Imagine) directed the film based on the book All Things Possible by Kurt Warner with Michael Silver.

Life challenges Warner is quite transparent about his life challenges. His parents divorced when he was four. Bedwetting lasted until about age 12, bringing many emotional struggles. The film portrays numerous football career moments. Some glimpses… Despite his high school success, Iowa’s top colleges overlooked Warner, so he played for Division 1-AA University of Northern Iowa, though only as a backup until his senior year. As graduation approached, NFL teams initially ignored him. Eventually, the Green Bay Packers signed him but cut him after five weeks. He noted in his book, “I wasn’t [yet] mentally, emotionally, or

spiritually prepared to handle success.” Money was tight. He and Brenda “lived in a basement, and ate meals purchased with food stamps.” They drove an old, mice-infested car that died on left turns, necessitating creative navigation to involve only right turns. Who is this guy? Four seasons of Arena football and NFL Europe honed his skills. Signed by the Rams for 1998, as backup quarterback he threw just eleven passes. In 1999, the starting quarterback was injured, and Warner began to shine. Sports Illustrated’s cover photo included the caption “Who Is This Guy?” The Rams lost only three games that season.

In his book, Warner reflects on his character builders: “Gale Sayers, the Chicago Bears’ Hall of Fame running back, [wrote a book] I Am Third. … God first, his family second, and himself third.” Brenda helped Kurt understand that forgiveness and friendship with God were gifts, not rewards for good behavior. Warner says he does not see God as a divine touchdown bestower, but feels faith has practical benefits: “Any sharpness, clarity, and grace under fire I’m able to summon are a result of faith and God’s presence in my life.” Warner’s had numerous opportunities to display grace under fire. With Super Bowl XXXIV tied and only two minutes remaining, Coach Vermeil told him, “You couldn’t ask for a better script. Now go out and give it that perfect ending.” Warner threw the winning touchdown pass. Road to the Hall of Fame Kurt’s NFL career spanned 12 seasons with the Rams, NY Giants, and Arizona Cardinals. It included MVP designations in two seasons, and two more Super Bowls. Each was close, his team losing by slim margins (3 and 4 points) in the final minute of play. 2017 saw him

CBA MARKETPLACE MONTHLY

Behold, I make all things new! (Revelations 21:5) It is time to say goodbye to the Christian Business Alliance. This past November, the marketplace ministry celebrated its 24-year anniversary. I take credit for nothing, but credit Jesus Christ for all those who were positively impacted by the CBA. That statement may sound like a feeble attempt for me to sound humble. Yet, honestly, when I reflect on how the CBA started and how God surrounded me with so many amazing, committed followers of Jesus, it can only be credited to Him! So, now out with the old and in with the new. The Christian Business Alliance (CBA) is now officially the Christian Community Network (CCN). This is more than a simple name change, but more of a re-focusing of the organization. One marketing flaw of the

old CBA name was the word “business.” For 24 years, many people assumed they couldn’t join because they did not own or work for a business. That obstacle has been removed. There are many changes associated with the new name and I’ll highlight a few. (Note: there will be ongoing updates in the Ambassador over the next few months, along with social media updates as well, so stay tuned) • Greater collaboration with the larger body of Christ. Working more intentionally to unite with local Biblebelieving churches. • Greater collaboration with Gospel based ministries. In addition, the CCN will provide a forum at our meetings to allow ministries to communicate their purpose and impact in our

The Ambassador Ministry

communities. The CCN will use a portion of membership proceeds to donate to two or more ministries annually. • The CCN will be more pro-active in taking a public stand on social and cultural issues according to the Word of God. • And yes, we will still be meeting weekly for structured lunch meetings which will include inspiring testimonies, Ministry info/updates, outreach/evangelism training, prayer & share fellowship, organizational meetings to discuss ministry projects. • While we encourage participation from our members (when available), weekly attendance is not required. Members will regularly be updated on CCN activities which include updates on local church and ministry events along with any other needed communication.

This will be achieved through our bimonthly newsletters, email, website and social media forums. There is much more to share which we will be presenting over the next few months AND a special after-hours event to officially launch the Christian Community Network. Please pray for the CCN. To summarize, we want to impact the community for Jesus Christ in a powerful way. If you want to keep up to date with our progress, please contact Seth Halpern and provide him with your email where we can direct you to our future web page and social media site. 7 Myths about Human Trafficking Myth 1. Human Trafficking and Human Smuggling are the same thing. - Human trafficking is a violation of someone’s human rights. - Human smuggling is a violation of a country’s immigration laws. Myth 2. Sex Trafficking could never occur in legal business settings. - Sex Trafficking occurs in businesses like strip clubs, pornography, escort services, cantinas, hotels, massage parlors and more. Myth 3. Victims of human trafficking - for help. will reach out - Victims often don’t know they are victims of human trafficking. Sometimes they don’t know their rights or what their options are. They often feel judged by their community. Victim blaming is a huge problem. When we ask a victim or survivor questions like, “why didn’t you run?” or “why didn’t you just call 911?” we are placing the blame on them instead of the trafficker and making them feel like they have to defend themselves for a crime that was committed against them. Myth 4. Only women and girls are victims of sex trafficking. - Men and boys are also trafficked. A

common factor for men and boys is homelessness, runaways, and LGBTQ youth. 380,000 youth experience homelessness annually. - According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 1 in 7 American kids run away from home and 1 in 3 becomes victims of human trafficking within 48 hours. Myth 5. Child sex trafficking could never occur in my community. - Child sex trafficking happens everywhere. In big cities, rural areas and small towns. Some factors are high transit areas, proximity to truck stops, presence of gangs, homelessness, and something in every home, internet access. Myth 6. All traffickers are stereotypical pimps. - Just as anyone can be a buyer or victim, anyone can be a trafficker. It can be a family member (familial trafficking) a friend, a boss, a spouse, or someone involved in organized crime. Myth 7. Human trafficking refers only to sex trafficking. - Labor trafficking can occur in any industry like agriculture, hospitality, nail salons, restaurants, janitorial

Finding Freedom in God’s Perfect Peace If you would like to experience the peace and transformed life that God can provide through Jesus Christ and you are willing to commit your life to the only one who can truly set you free from your sin, you can pray to the Lord right now and ask Him to forgive you of your sins. Because of what His Son, Jesus, did by dying on the cross, your sins will not be held against you by God anymore. You can experience freedom for the rest of your life on earth and then have a life in Heaven with God for eternity. God’s part of the deal is already done. Your part is to confess your sins, repent (or change your ways) and believe that He is Lord. If your life is out of control, let Him take over control. For help, questions, or more information, contact us at The Ambassador or any of the churches listed on page 3.

God’s word, so it must be significant. I believe the difference is in nuance. The Bible is clear that God is pleased when we demonstrate faith. He called Abraham His friend because of it; He rescued His people because they turned to Him in Faith. He often healed and performed miracles as a result of it. Yes, God is surely pleased by our Faith. But once again, where does “Hope” fit in? John Piper explains that “Hope” is a part of Faith. While Faith encompasses all of trusting and believing, Hope specifically looks at the future aspect of Faith. 2 Corinthians 4:17 speaks of unseen world that can only be “seen” by faith. Much of the writings of the Hebrew prophets, as well as the New Testament authors, was to encourage (and challenge) the people to understand that even though their present circumstances were grim, their HOPE was in the Lord. Time and time again, the followers of the risen Christ were persecuted, tortured, or killed. The strong temptation was to fall away from the faith. Today, people walk away from Christ often because they are bored, or tired of the guilt that comes along with living a life that dishonors Him. In the Word of God, (as it currently is in some other nations) it is often a choice between life or faith in Christ! So, the believers in Jesus needed hope

for the future. Our modern use of the word “Hope” is typically aimed at our “desires” or “wants” (“I hope I get that promotion”, “We hope you can come to our party”, etc). It is more of a wish than the Biblical expression of “Hope”. There are different words for “Hope” in the Old Testament. The two most frequently used are “Tikvah/Kavah” and “Yachal”. “Tikvah” and “Kavah” are of the same root so they have a similar meaning, which is “Hope” but the literal and original usage was that of a strong rope or cord- A cord so strong that it could bind a heavy load. There is also a picture of people holding on to one end of it (especially during times of trouble) and knowing that they could trust

the one on the other end whom they could not see. It’s a beautiful illustration of trust in the unseen. “Yachal” has the meaning of waiting through trials with a confident trust in the future because of the One who holds the future in His hands. As you can see, neither word suggests the contemporary sense of a positive outlook or simple optimism. It is the confident expectation in the Person of God. These words do not portray a “hope” in something but an assurance of the character, will and Love of their God. This is very different from the other “gods” of the Old Testament. The people who looked to false gods did not know this kind of Hope, only an uncertain half-

hearted hope in an insensitive and brutal god (of their mythology). Piper reflects “Biblical hope not only desires something good for the future — it expects it to happen. And it not only expects it to happen — it is confident that it will happen. There is a moral certainty that the good we expect and desire will be done.” Again, since our Hope is in the Person of God (who has a will), our Hope in Him is an expectation for good, because we know that God is Good. That is what is meant by a “Moral Certainty”. Piper continues “Biblical hope is not a mere desire for something good to happen. It is a confident expectation and desire for something good in the future. Biblical hope has moral certainty in it. When the word says, “Hope in God!” it does not mean, “Cross your fingers.” It means, to use the words of William Carey, “Expect great things from God.” The New Testament has a similar concept of Hope in the word “Elpis” and it’s derivative “Elpizo”. They have the same idea of a “confident expectation”. They are often used as part of a phrase (eg, Hope of Salvation, Hope of the Resurrection, Hope of the Promise, Hope of the Glory of God, etc).

HEADER OP/ED WHOSE CHILD IS THIS? By Jon Skillman There seems to be a growing conflict over who has authority over our nation’s children? Is it their parents? Or is it the state? Since the beginning, God has knitted us together in our mother’s womb where we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139: 13-14). Then, by God’s design, He hands us over to our parents where we grow up in a family unit under their authority (see Ephesians 6:1-4). This divine design has served us well for thousands of years but, in 1973, nine human beings made a 7-2 decision to choose not hold people accountable for choices they have made. They did this by making the result of said choices to pay the price for their inconvenience. In effect, humans are now allowed to enter God’s realm and literally tear apart what He is knitting together. Abortion activists decree, “It’s my body and my life, therefore I have the right to choose!” In reality, it’s not their body that is being torn apart or their life that is being taken, it is a unique creation with a life of it’s own. If a child is found worthy of life by his or her parents or parent, God is allowed to finishes His work and hands all responsibility and authority over to the parents. That’s the way God designed it but in many states that’s not always how it works. California, a state that prides itself in

being the very first to legalize all things perverse, has done it again by passing AB 1184. This bill, which becomes law July 1,2022, transfers legal consent from parents to their children, and allows children as young as twelve to consent to an abortion and or receiving transgender hormonal treatments. The real kicker to this bill is that it bans insurance companies from, in anyway, informing policy holders of payment for such procedures. Imagine, your child is covered under your medical policy, a policy you are paying the premiums on, and they can’t tell you what’s going on behind your back! Evidently, they can do this under the “protected individual” clause of the civil code. You know, the one that makes it a hate crime to criticize or offend anybody other than a Christian, white, heterosexual, biological male. Couple this with our ruling elite’s belief that they know what is best for OUR children. This is how a super majority legislature legislates. Brace yourselves, there are rumblings from the bowels of Sacramento that if the US Supreme Court overrules Roe vs Wade, California will become the very first an abortion sanctuary state. Meaning, we will pay travel and lodging expenses and possibly procedure expenses for out of state residents. Yaaay we’re number one! Yet the question remains…Whose child is this?

New Year Wishes just for you Happiness and Peace in all you do May God bless Your Home and Family too May He be with you the whole year through. 18

More Than a Name Change Welcome to 2022! We are all praying that this will not be a repeat of 2021 which seemed like a repeat of 2020. We are waiting and praying for a significant change in a national (as well as individual and community) change of mood, disposition, and hope. While we await that change, there is another local change ready to happen. If you read Dave Kugelman’s article on page 14, then you know that after 24 years, the Christian Business Alliance (CBA) has changed its name to the Christian Community Network (CCN). This is more than a name change as Dave (Kug) explains. It is a re-design of our emphasis. The emphasis will be on the “Network” as opposed to the weekly lunch meeting. We will continue with the lunch meetings. In fact, we (the CCN board) will work hard to make each meeting purposeful so that members will not want to miss out if at all possible. However, since there are many who cannot logistically attend the meetings, we are building a network of local believers, businesses, churches, and ministries. The purpose of this is twofold: 1) Unity- to bring unity among Bible-believing Christ followers across the greater Christian community in the Yuba-Sutter area. 2) Ministry- bringing

Seth Halpern - Editor up to date information of local Gospelbased Ministries to a larger number of Christians to help volunteer, pray, support, etc. for the ministries in order to have a greater impact for Christ in our community. God is pleased when we are one in unity (Jn 17:20) and His call to fulfill the great commission (Mt 28:1920) requires all of us to participate. The ministries of The Ambassador, CCN, and the Church of Yuba-Sutter Facebook Page will work together to provide the most comprehensive network of communicating important information in a variety of formats. If you have never been to a Weekly Lunch Meeting or would like more info on the CCN, please contact me (Seth Halpern) at editor@ ambassadornewspaper.com. You will begin seeing many more details in both The Ambassador and online, so stay tuned!

The Ambassador accepts opinions and editorials (op-ed’s) as long as they are well-written and less than 450 words. Op-ed’s will be published purely at the discretion of the editor. If you would like to submit your op-ed, please email it (written in MS Word) to editor@ambassadornewspaper.com. The deadline for submission is the 15th of the month for the next issue.
