W E LCO M E TO O U R F I R S T 'AT H O M E ' C ATA LO G U E With the restrictions of lockdown one of the things that everyone has been doing more of is spending time at home. It was with this thought, and a great passion for home cooking and entertaining, that we wanted to put together a small collection of quality items aimed at cooking and dining.

Over many years in this industry you meet some wonderful people who make fabulous items and many of them become trade show friends, if not always suppliers. This new Goviers At Home collection features pieces from many of those friends.

Italy has always been a great source of products with style and integrity and family owned businesses Mepra and Saladini epitomise that. You may not think you need Canape Forks but I can tell you once you have them you will wonder how you managed without them! Yes our son Oliver laughed too but with different ends to each fork each guest will know their own!

Ever since our many family holidays spent in Brittany, France has been a country that has always pulled at my heart strings, and my stomach! The climate and the slower pace of life have always held great attractions for me and so has their passion for quality produce and home cooked family meals.

We get to France whenever we can and love to walk the markets and watch the French doing their weekly shop. We also love their cookware and another family owned business, Revol, attracted our attention a few years ago. They are huge suppliers to the high-end restaurant world, with 52 Michelin star chefs on their books, but also to the discerning home cook.

Everything I have of theirs works so well and looks so good.

When I was at Royal Crown Derby we always said, quite rightly, that tea tasted better out of a bone china cup, likewise a G&T, glass of wine or a Wee Dram tastes just that little bit better from a decent glass. Galway and Dartington both do their bit to improve the taste of our favourite tipple!

In the interest of thorough research we have naturally had to test drive a few of the glasses, and they worked very well indeed!

Anyone with a passion for cookery programmes, and a good memory, will recall way back in the days when Delia was one of the few TV Chefs that her first major series, The Complete Cookery Course, sparked a rush on all manner of ingredients and equipment. One such item was the hard-anodised Mermaid trays made by Samuel Groves in Birmingham. An essential in our kitchen and as a gift for many of our friends, cooks or not. Even heating up your M &S lasagne is better done on a solid tray, let alone my homemade pork pie!

We hope that this initial Goviers at Home collection gives you some present ideas, as well as making you think that it is time to spoil yourselves with something nice. We don’t want to dilute the usual Goviers offering in the main catalogue but we hope this new supplement will allow us to add some of the different items that we find.

REVOL • MERMAID France is one of our favourite countries and when the opportunity arose to visit Revol on the edge of the Rhone valley it was too good an opportunity to miss.

Founded in 1768, Revol still retains very much a family feel and the traditional skills of the potter are still very much in evidence. They match tradition with the modern requirements of today. All these items are oven, microwave and dishwasher safe. Cooking being a serious passion in our household, we felt it only right to test these items and they’ve passed with flying colours.

THE FLORA COLLECTION

Flora created in 2012 in collaboration with Anja Kragh Vang, is a stunning floral range. Every piece is adorned with its own flower, as fresh as if it was just picked from the gardens of Denmark.
