Alvis serves some of the most vulnerable citizens in our community. Since 1967, the agency has been providing reentry support & treatment for individuals with justice involvement, addictions & mental health treatment, workforce development, support & prevention services for families and children, and services for individuals with developmental disabilities. The two story addition will consolidate Alvis’ programs for men at the Alum Creek and downtown Columbus locations. When the move is completed, the original Alum Creek facility will be renovated to become a modern residential reentry treatment program for women, who are the fastest growing segment of the justice-involved population. Women’s reentry programs are currently spread across three aging, Victorian-style homes in East Columbus. The new facility will allow Alvis to provide evidence-informed treatment services and the complex continuum of care that will have a transformational impact on all those served.
