PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
A very warm welcome to all bowlers for the 2023/24 season. I am happy to accept the role of President for a fourth term and hope to meet up with many of you on the greens.
All of our board members are returning for another term which will maintain continuity, and learning’s from this year can be used to plan for a positive year to come. We welcome the new selectors and wish them well for the coming season and sincerely thank the outgoing selectors who have served the Centre well.

Living locally in the Hinuera Valley on their family dairy farm Glenda and her husband Mark have loved the locality and raising their children within the area. Glenda brings to her role many years of experience from living and working alongside her husband, Mark, as a dairy farmer, also having completed her National Certificate in Agribusiness Management during this time. Glenda has been selling lifestyle and residential properties for a few years and enjoys being of service to her community in her role at Bayleys Matamata.
Glenda was born and raised in South Africa and moved to Matamata in 1997. Her working life has been varied, starting as a legal secretary doing conveyancing work, then working her way up to the role of a registrar within the Labor court system in South Africa. She then took up a position in an optometry firm, qualifying as a contact lens technician and subsequently as a dispensing optician, working in the optical field for 20 years.
Deciding on a change of career in 2006, qualifying as a real estate sales agent, and after a break away to raise her family she re-licensed in real estate and joined the Bayleys brand. Her background as a Dispensing Optician and working experience as a registrar in the Labor court system enables her to approach her role with great empathy and attention to detail, delivering exceptional results to her vendors.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR BOWLS WAIKATO EVENTS
Objectives
1. To state plainly the way in which players entering Bowls Waikato Events are expected to conduct themselves and the consequences of any breach of the expected standards of behaviour.
2. To ensure that players are aware of the standards expected and the consequences of breaching these standards.
General
This Code of Conduct is to be followed on all occasions and in all places where the player can be seen to be a member of a club under the jurisdiction of Bowls Waikato and includes:
1. The venue of play which means the green, surrounds and clubhouse of the place where the player is about to, or is competing or has competed.
PLAYER’S OBLIGATIONS
The Competition
To maintain at all times a high standard of sportsmanship and fair play. This will of necessity include:
1. Every Player who wishes to play in any Bowls Waikato event to accept these conditions as a means of entry into the event.
2. Always playing to the best of his/her ability and where appropriate to perform as part of a team.
3. Abiding by the Laws of the Game, its Regulations and the Conditions of Play specified by the Controlling Body.
4. Respecting and accepting without question any ruling given by the Umpire (subject to any right of appeal given by the Laws).
5. Not take any performance enhancing drug and in particular strictly to comply with any regulations adopted by Bowls Waikato in regard thereto.
6. Present himself/herself for competition in an acceptable physical and mental condition and standard of appearance.
7. Maintain towards opponents an attitude of respect and politeness.
8. No alcohol to be consumed on the greens during play.
9. Abide by the dress codes as in the Conditions of Play.
10. Cell phones to be turned off during play unless exempted by Controlling Body.

1. To refrain from (a) Any behaviour or misconduct which might reflect unfavourably on the Game, Bowls Waikato, or which might bring any Player, Official or Bowls Waikato into disrepute. (b) making any comment to the media, written electronic or social and, in particular, any public announcement or media comment that might bring the game into disrepute. (c) any discriminatory practices based on race, religion, ethnic background or special ability/ disability bowler.
2. Abide by (a) and comply with all directions of Bowls Waikato. (b) accept and act upon any judgment of any duly appointed official of Bowls Waikato as to any unacceptable behaviour. (c) the requirements of Bowls Waikato as to dress including sponsor’s logos.
3. Respect the Tournament officials, volunteers, officers, members and staff of any Club at which the event is being or has been played.
4. Respect the Officers and appointed Officials of Bowls Waikato.
Breaches of Code of Conduct or Conditions of Play
a) Players in breach of the Code of Conduct or Conditions of Play will be placed on report with disciplinary action to be taken. This may include (however not restricted to) the following
(i) A written warning and/or (ii) a fine and/or (iii) disqualification
Serious breach of Code of Conduct at the Venue
1. If the Section Leader, having heard any explanation that the Player concerned may offer, is satisfied that the Player is in serious breach of this Code of Conduct the Section Leader may withdraw that Player from the event.
2. Any Player who is dissatisfied by any action of the Section Leader in relation to this Code of Conduct may require Bowls Waikato to enquire into the conduct in question of the Player and the action of the Section Leader in regard to it.
