Brighton Marine Health Center First Floor, Building 2 77 Warren St, Brighton Works by Brighton's Own Nancy and Ken Crasco Saturday, December 8, 2018 – Saturday, February 2, 2019 Nancy and Ken Crasco met at the Rhode Island School of Design, married a year after graduation, and pursued highly successful careers in the Boston area. Now both retired, they spend a lot of time in their home studios in the Oak Square neighborhood.

Nancy has been creating art with fiber since 1968, while continuing to teach full time in the public schools until she retired. She uses a gelatin plate, linoleum blocks and digital processes to print on both paper and fabric. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally since 1975.

Ken served as the Chief Landscape Architect for the City of Boston from 1994-2006, and began his study of pottery in 1998 at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine. He continues to study at Mudflat Pottery in Somerville, where he glazes and fires his works. He is a functional potter, throwing vessels with classic form and finishing them with elegant glaze treatments.

Works may be inspired by cultures throughout history, animal imagery, or imaginative creatures—the sky’s the limit! This four-day workshop will be taught by a skilled Ceramics Program instructor, Jenny Blicharz.

Please note: this workshop is for Allston-Brighton residents and Gardner Pilot Academy students in grades 4–5.
