Allied's high-volume PCB microsectioning and analysis system makes it easy to prepare and document microsections for rigid and flex coupons
From pin insertion and mounting to grinding/polishing to a measuring/reporting system, Allied provides a complete solution.
The high-volume PCB sample holder accommodates up to six (6) mounted coupon stacks. Adjustable diamond stops are easily and accurately set, allowing coupon throughholes as small as 3 mils (0.003") to be cross-sectioned.
Magnetic retention of the mounts allows for easy removal, inspection and return to the holder without losing registration.
The highly versatile pinning system accommodates either rigid or flexible coupons with 2 mm or 0.094" tooling holes. The pin insertion press allows smooth, rapid gang-mounting and ensures high-precision alignment of the through-holes. Flexible coupons are mounted using spacers that provide rigidity.
The 2-part mounting system features a unique lower mold design available in three (3) depths for different coupon dimensions. Made of a durable polymer for longevity, it produces a rounded profile to maximize grinding and polishing efficiency.
The MetPrep 4x™/PH grinding and polishing systems accommodate Allied's PCB and standard sample holders (central/individual force). When configured with the ID-5x™ Fluid Dispenser, they deliver reproducible results due to accurate dispensing of polishing abrasives and lubricants.
The microprocessor-based system allows the operator to use either the manual Input Mode or the programmable Steps and Sequences Mode.
Either standard or magnetic 12"/305 mm platens may be used with any adhesive, non-adhesive or magnetic system disc.
Allied's imaging solution features a Carl Zeiss motorized inverted microscope and software for acquisition, measurement and reporting/traceability requirements.
The custom stage insert ensures accurate positioning of up to six (6) mounts. The motorized stage precisely indexes the coupons for automatic image acquisition.
The software measures and sorts individual layers against userdefined parameters, providing immediate and accurate pass/fail results.
Software-generated data can either be exported, or automatically populated into fully customizable reports.
