The titles of the necklaces indicate three days when something dramatic happened. We have all read about car accidents when the driver seems to deliberately have given up the control of the car . Sometimes actions of a desperate, jealous person. I knew such a young man,- married for ten years He drove into a rock wall with a raging speed after a quarrel. He had no entension to survive. His wife was in a car right behind him,and watched the love of her life turn into bits of colours, metal and fabric. Red,blue and yellow. Jealousy became a weapon, a poison and a spinning tarantella dance .

Saskia Bostelmann / Mexico These brooches deal with the topic Till death do us part, taking it literally . The materials used are thought of one “dying” before the other and leaving the rest behind. The main materials are on one hand paper pulp & gold leaf and on the other hand concrete & silver. also the idea of debris….imperfect structures, almost falling down... Every person that leaves us leaves an imprint in us . Depending on the power o f the relationship and the depth of it, the marks in our souls are deeper, or lighter. Nevertheless, there are always marks , evidence of this death that has left us behind. Traces of the relationship are left leaving the changed person behind.
My pieces relate to this specific theme in the material aspect. The paper pulp can eventually break or dissolve and then a new piece will emerge. The traces of the paper pul adhere to the concrete, yet a hard concrete & silver piece will merge. One truly does not know how this left piece is until ...death does them
