My latest collection of pieces are time capsules containing specific objects. When I read the title of the call "Until death do us part" I got the idea of encapsulating or capturing, in this case, feelings and emotions. Family losses mark life in an invisible and melancholic way. Wandering through it with those absences give new value to everything that surrounds us, nest in our memory and remind us of our ephemeral passage through the world. 1914. Unknown family photograph, the same components as my family, four sisters and two brothers. The image hypnotized me. I made three enameled brooches with it, double faced. Structures and images that refer to the old reliquaries or medallions with miniature portraits.

Claudia Steiner / Austria SideBySide "I found her on a night of fire and noise Wild bells rang in a wild sky I knew from that moment on I'll love her till the day that I died And I kissed away a thousand tears My lady of the Various Sorrows Some begged, some borrowed, some stolen Some kept safe for tomorrow On and endless night, silver star spangled She was given to me to put things right And I stacked all my accomplishments beside her Still I seemed so obsolete and small I found God and all His devils inside her In my bed she cast the blizzard out A mock sun blazed upon her head So completely filled with light she was Her shadow fanged and hairy and mad Our love-lines grew hopelessly tangled" copyright: Songtext by Nick Cave

With my interest focused on natural materials, multilevel aesthetic forms were carefully selected, before decay tears them apart and leads them to a slow death. They were transformed with resin and sliced to reveal their inner layering and beauty of their construction.

The thin line between love and hate. Falling in love is one of the most intensive emotions of human life. New love feels like an endless white field, a carte blanche, innocent and yet without any dark spots or breaches. But love has to be nurtured and if you don’t take enough care of it you might not see the first dark shadows growing silently from the inside. And if you allow the shadows to accumulate they will eventually cross a line, spread out like a disease and might turn what once was love into hate.
