Current Activities For the past six months, we have been in Oaxaca, Mexico, working hard to bring resilience to a community shaken by the Central Mexico earthquakes. The teams are now entering the finishing stages of work and excitement is building for the celebration at the end of the month. At Celso Munoz Primary School, all of the plastering is complete, a “checkerboard” concrete plaza has been poured, the final touches on the painting are underway and the playground is taking shape. Jardin de Ninos 13 de Septiembre Preschool is currently being plastered ready for a fresh paint job, and the teams are busy building tables and benches for the classrooms. This month, we’re starting another program to build more schools. Our work in Oaxaca will continue into December of this year.

Volunteer Voices “I really appreciate you. Whoever you are reading this. Whatever your role is, you have enabled me to have some of the best times of my life. Thank you.” “All Hands and Hearts is one of the best volunteer programmes I have participated in. Well organised, amazing staff and meaningful work that’s easy to do without previous experience” This past month, the number of community day volunteers has risen. Five local people volunteered on the site two weeks in a row, including a student from a nearby town that has been coming three times a week! Eight parents also got involved by cleaning outside of the site in preparation for the handover and the beginning of classes.
