Our amazing AHAH staff and volunteers have been working hard to finish the homes in the areas we work in, completing six homes last month alone! As a program, we’re thrilled to report that we’ve officially helped over 800 beneficiaries to date.
Project Spotlight For the past few months our team on the ground has been working closely with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bay County in their recovery from Hurricane Michael. After performing muck and guts and a mold sanitation on two of their buildings, we repaired a chain link fence that surrounds the sports fields and playground area, previously damaged by fallen trees. The team then repainted the exterior walls of the gymnasium building. We scraped off the existing, peeling paint, resealed the walls, and then painted all four sides of the building. Sarah Capobianco, one of our AHAH staff members, designed a mural for us to paint on one of the walls and with the help of the volunteer team, we invited the Boys and Girls Club attendees to come out and join in with the painting. We had 15 volunteers and 10 kids from the community come out that day.
