In October, after a seven-month operational suspension due to COVID-19, we were delighted to welcome volunteers back to program in Coastal Bend, Texas where we have committed to work until April 2021. Adhering to our new COVID-19 safety measures, the first cohort of DM12 volunteers hit the ground running, and have already completed their first, high-quality interior, home repair (see details below). The team continues to collaborate with local partnerships including Catholic Charities and Lutheran Disaster Services who have passed on homes for us to work on, as well as Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation who are supporting us with regular COVID-19 testing to ensure the health and safety of our team and the communities we’re working in.
Community Stories After three years, Leonor and her family finally have a complete home (pictured left)! This is the first home completed by one of our DM12 groups, and Leonor had nothing but good things to say about the team and the quality of work they completed. In addition to the repairs that were made, new LED light bulbs were installed throughout the home, creating a warm and welcoming space.
