JOBS COMPLETED

Current Situation Having successfully started our Resilient Roof Repair Program in December 2020, our team of All Hands and Hearts staff and AmeriCorps NCCC volunteers completed three roofs before taking a well deserved holiday break. They also completed over 90 tree removal jobs, 10 muck and guts, 8 debris removal jobs and 48 roof tarping jobs. We’re now in the process of establishing a new base of operations before we welcome our team back from break. We continue to work closely with partner organizations to ensure we have a consistent work queue and reach homeowners with the highest level of need.

Community Voices Our team first met Mr. Marvin while working at another house and soon learnt he acts as a “hub” in the neighborhood; always looking out for others, maintaining connections and providing support, but wanting nothing in return. It wasn’t long before the team found time to begin work at his home. They helped remove a damaged tree from his property and repaired the roof. His home will also be assessed for a muck and gut job this month. Mr. Marvin says we’ve done enough for him, but the enjoyable conversation, considerate attention, frequent treats and generous help he’s given us measure up to just as much.
