Current Activities After a well-earned break at the end of last month, having helped facilitate over 80,000 COVID-19 vaccines and fed over 750,000 people to date, the staff team returned to program and welcomed our third cohort of DM12 volunteers on May 9. This cohort will continue to support our key partners LA Food Bank and CORE, as well as continuing our newest partnership with Kedren Health Center, which is focused on addressing racial inequities in vaccine distribution. Prior to their break, the team also coordinated with a local nonprofit, LA Water Drop, to support the donation of 40,000 masks and 600 bottles of sanitizer for distribution on Skid Row.
Partner Spotlight A very big thank you to our trusted partner TUMI for their generous donation of over 2,000 TUMI Care Kits, which included a TUMI mask and hand sanitizer. These resources are incredibly important for keeping the local communities safe and our team was delighted to distribute them to our partners’ staff and volunteers who are working on the front line every single day. TUMI also donated 40 hard TUMI cases to hold the Care Kits.
