Berauschende Stunden des Musikgenusses im Zeichen der „Metamorphosen“
For us in Lower Austria, art and culture are sources of strength and inspiration that support us and convey a feeling of optimism, especially in uncertain times. This is why we value and promote art and culture in every corner of Lower Austria – from our impressive museums, galleries and exhibition venues that radiate far beyond the borders of our region, to our excellent and most diverse theatres, where first-rate performances keep audiences spellbound, to music festivals at the most beautiful places of our part of the world.
One of these festivals of international renown is “Allegro Vivo”, which has had a long and lasting impact on the cultural scene in the Waldviertel region. In my capacity as Governor of Lower Austria, it is my pleasure to wish Vahid Khadem-Missagh and his team, as well as all the artists involved in this endeavour, every success for this year’s 45th edition of the festival. Once again, I also reach out to the audience, wishing them beautiful, entertaining and exhilarating hours of musical enjoyment in the spirit of “Metamorphoses”.

Seien Sie uns herzlich willkommen!
We celebrate the 45th edition of the Allegro Vivo Festival! In four and a half decades the entire Waldviertel region in the heart of Europe has been transformed into a flourishing cultural landscape connecting people of all generations and backgrounds in their love of music.
This year's main theme "Metamorphoses" symbolizes the special human ability to unleash the power of change, bringing forth new aspects of human life together. We unfold a musical kaleidoscope at 25 historical venues. In our 7-year cycle, this time we feature the cultural heritage of our neighbouring country Germany. Starting with Richard Strauss' remarkable “Metamorphoses” for 23 solo strings we begin our series of 50 concerts in which music by Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Reger, Spohr, Schumann and many others are performed.
We feature contemporary music through the commissioned work of Johannes Berauer "Change over time" and our composition competition for piano trio. May the aspect of change help to find harmonious solutions to polarizing conflicts of the world and let the art of music serve as an unique example.

Be warmly welcomed!
