PRAYER FOR SPORTING ACHIEVEMENT Help me, Lord, to discover the talents I have been given and to not let them lie unused. May I make the best use of them both for myself and for others. May sport help to bring out the best in people, teaching us the lessons of commitment and co-operation, of fairness and appreciation. May sports, hobbies and interests help me to develop my personality that I may be renewed and re-created in your image and likeness. We ask this through Christ our Lord Amen. SPORT Well done to the students who came 3rd in the Macclesfield and District Orienteering Competition. The boys located all 20 control points in under 20 minutes and were a credit to the College, demonstrating one of our core values 'cooperation' very effectively! We welcome the support of parents in striving to keep our young people safe and their environment clean and tidy. Some’ gum’ facts: Almost a billion packs of gum are bought in Britain every year Each piece of gum costs 3p to buy but 10p to clean up Three and a half billion pieces of gum are disposed of every year in the UK Nine out of ten city paving stones have had gum stuck to them Getting gum off the pavement takes expensive jet sprays or chemical treatments In London there are over 300,000 blobs of chewing gum on Oxford Street alone In the UK, £281m is spent on chewing gum every year The government spends £150m each year on cleaning up gum on the UK's streets OUR NEW EMAIL HELP SERVICE — ”BEING ME” For many years our College has had an email address called bullying@allhallowslearning.org.uk for students and parents to report bullying issues if required. Some students may experience other difficulties that also require some help and support, but are not bullying issues as such. These difficulties may be connected to something that is going on in their life at present, or something they are struggling to deal with. For this reason the College has set up another confidential email address called beingme@allhallowslearning.org.uk for students to use should they find themselves in need of help, support and guidance. Emails will be read by a senior member of staff who will then seek out other staff volunteers to offer the help and support that is required.
