Also providing 6 week paid placements are two ex Business students, Danny Towns, Managing Director and Chrome Motors Ltd and Tim Mears, owner of an IT company called Axon. Both students left All Hallows over 15 years ago after completing the same type of business qualification the current Y12 students are following. Danny went on to work in marketing with a large multi-national company before settling as Managing Director with Chrome Motors, whilst Tim, with his entrpreneurial flair went on to set up and run his own companies. Placements are due to start from 23 June, with some running through the summer until 15 August. The students will be given job roles and a real business project to work on. At the same time, the same students are being mentored by their partners in business. This provides further opportunity for insight into the real world of work, with visits to their partners place of work often part of the mentoring programme. Sadie Oldfield and Connor Proudman both recently visited their partner Belinda Peach at Media City. With all this experience under their belts, they will have much to write about when they begin to prepare personal statements for their UCAS applications next term. ECO FACT £36 000 000 worth of aluminium is thrown away each year and aluminium cans can be recycled and are ready to use in just 6 weeks.

PARENTS AND PARTNERS - ESAFETY Do you know about Ask.fm? This is a question and answer-based social network. Founded in 2010, Ask.fm lets users ask others questions with the option of anonymity. Answers can be posted in text or video format, and registered users are presented with a feed of questions. The site is available in more than 30 languages and claims that more than 30 million questions and answers are created each day. There has been some concern lately that this social network site is an easy platform for on-line bullying. The leaflet in our E-Safety section (For Parents, Safeguarding and Support, E-Safety) called Ask FM Online Safety Guidance will provide further support and information about this site. UNIFORM VOUCHERS Year 8 – 11 students in September 2014 who are in receipt of free school meals will be allocated up to £100.00 towards the cost of replacement uniform. Parents will need to complete a voucher claim form, which can be found on the College website, under Parent Information; Uniform Matters. BUS PASSES All Hallows will contribute towards Bostock’s Coaches transport costs in cases of hardship, as follows:  Free School Meals Students in receipt of Free School Meals should initially apply to Cheshire East Council for a concessionary bus pass http://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/public_transport/school_transport/applications.aspx. If Cheshire East do not make the payment, please complete the claim form available on the College website under Parent Information; Transport and Trips and return to Miss Wakefield in the Finance Office.  Working Tax Credit Students whose families are in receipt of Working Tax Credit can apply for a refund of up to 50% of College Contract transport costs. Please return the claim form (as detailed above) with supporting documentation to Miss Wakefield in the Finance Office. If you have any queries, please contact the Finance Office on 01625 426 138 or finance@allhallows.org.uk.
