COLLEGE PRAYER

SPECIALISM SUCCESS Erasmus Plus Project: Miss Easter has successfully completed work on this project in July. Erasmus Plus, which is funded by the European Union, has funded three teachers to further develop their French skills with a programme of French immersion and upskilling. This has enabled high quality delivery of French across the Key Stages and helped to secure effective transition from primary to secondary.

PARENTS AS PARTNERS Parents we ask for your support with ensuring students understand about respecting the personal space of others. At College we have a 'no touch rule'. We emphasise to students that over enthusiastic or overly boisterous 'play' can sadly spiral too quickly into more dangerous or more provocative behaviour which needs to be sanctioned. We ask your support in making sure that students understand the purpose of this and the reasons it is in place.

Prayer for the good use of talents Lord, I ask that you inspire me always to do my best, not comparing myself with others, but only with myself. Lead me, Lord, to discover and use my own talents for the benefit of others and the greater good. May I live such that I help others to experience their own success, as well as praising them for the good use of their abilities. Help me not to judge others or jump to conclusions about them, but lead me instead to respect and accept others for who they are, focussing on the positive rather than the negative. Amen. Pray for The Persecuted, Oppressed and those Denied Human Rights

GCE Results Day: Thursday 18 August 2016 GCSE Results Day: Thursday 25 August 2016 ESAFETY Child Exploitation and Online Protection are launching a brand new public awareness campaign. Through social media, articles, blogs, films and more, CEOP want to get parents and carers thinking and talking about the importance of discussing relationships and the internet with their children. Today is the start of a this three month campaign, and CEOP are introducing their first new resource entitled “The world changes. Children don’t”. This short film that tells the age-old story of Romeo and Juliet… with a modern twist. It shows how the lives of these young couples might play out online today, including the Lark ‘tweeting’ and Romeo ‘friending’ Juliet. Behind this contemporary remake is the message that, although technology and social media can seem overwhelming and forever evolving, children and young people don’t change. CEOP is reminding parents that (just as when they were young), their children are still exploring and creating their identities, keeping up with their friends and dealing with adolescent pressures. Access the film through this link: https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents/Romeo_and_Juliet/ You can also find further information and guidance on the Parents section in our College website.
