COLLEGE PRAYER

SPECIALISM SUCCESS

All Hallows continues to gain significantly from its involvement in the Ensemble Languages project. On Friday 5 June All Hallows led and hosted training for primary colleagues from across the northwest. 16 colleagues attended the training and evaluations included comments such as “Fantastic ideas to take back into the classroom”, “A wonderful training day and it followed on perfectly from the first one”, “another really useful progressive day”, “free CPD sessions of this calibre are very rare”. On Tuesday 23 June a group of 7 colleagues attended the Ensemble conference in Nottingham and Alice Harrison and Janet Clarke led a workshop on assessment and progression in languages.

Prayer for Sporting Achievement Help us, Lord, to discover the talents we have been given and to not let them lie unused. May we make the best use of them both for ourselves and for others. May sport help to bring out the best in people, teaching us the lessons of commitment and co-operation, of fairness and appreciation. May sports, hobbies and interests help us to develop our personalities and that we may be renewed and re-created in your image and likeness. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We define good behaviour as that which flows from our Christian values of honourable purpose, respect. compassion, co-operation and stewardship. Teachers have a statutory power to discipline students for misbehaving outside the school premises. Section 89(5) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 gives the Head/Principal a specific statutory power to regulate students’ behaviour in these circumstances "to such extent as is reasonable". This college’s behaviour policy allows us to discipline a student for any misbehaviour when the child is: - Taking part in a school/college organised or school related activity - Travelling to or from school/college - Wearing school/college uniform - In some other way identifiable as a student at the school/college Or misbehaviour at any time, whether or not the conditions above apply, that: - Could have repercussions for the orderly running of the school/college - Or poses a threat to another student or member of the public - Or could adversely affect the reputation of the school/college The college reserves the right to work with the police on such matters if necessary and sanction if required. This may include the use of detention, isolation, suspension to Cornerstone, fixed term exclusion and permanent exclusion (Extract from All Hallows Behaviour Policy) PARENTS AS PARTNERS: SAFE FOOTWEAR

Parents are reminded that student footwear should be black shoes, not trainers or pumps. Female students should not wear any heels greater than one inch. The ballet style shoes and lace up canvas style pumps some of our female students are wearing are not suitable for all-day wear and are certainly not robust enough for the weather we experience. We welcome the support of our parents in ensuring our students are dressed correctly.
