College Prayer Traditional Catholic prayer to Our Lady of Fatima on the occasion of her first appearance to three children 100 years ago. O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the most holy Rosary, you were pleased to appear to the children of Fatima and reveal a glorious message. We implore you, inspire in our hearts a fervent love for the recitation of the Rosary. By meditating on the mysteries of the redemption that are recalled therein may we obtain the graces and virtues that we ask, through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen. Prayer focus: Our Lady of Fatima on the occasion of her first appearance to three children

Specialism Success All Hallows is now part of the Mandarin Excellence Programme. The MEP is a programme run by UCL and the British Council in conjunction with the Chinese government which aims to promote the study of Mandarin in state schools across the U.K. All Hallows has secured funding to offer a core Mandarin class in Key Stage 3 with the aim to give students a strong foundation of language for further Key Stage 4 and 5 studies and thus allow them to compete in an everchanging international job market. Congratulations to all involved in the bid; we look forward to the exciting opportunities that this will bring to both staff and students at All Hallows.

Parents As Partners: Please can I remind parents to collect and drop off students at the bus turning circle and not on Brooklands Avenue car park. Students entering reception will be asked to go out and around to the students entrance. As I am sure you are aware All Hallows Catholic College prides itself on high standards in all areas. Our aim is to help students understand the importance of working hard with the appropriate mind-set and values. One of the areas we feel supports this is the high standard of uniform we expect our students to wear. We believe it is important to dress for success and in so doing we feel students then come to College ready to learn. Recently we have been trying to overcome the fact that a significant minority of girls have been rolling their skirts up. This is not in accordance with our values and we want our girls to respect themselves and their image. On 8 May 2017 all students were informed that if staff reported them three times for their skirt being rolled up they will be required to wear trousers to school for the foreseeable future. We have made it clear that both trousers and skirts are options for girls’ uniform and if a skirt is chosen we expect it to be worn properly. Each time a student is reported a member of staff will have spoken to them to remind them of the consequence of continuing to roll their skirt up. We know how important it is to work together with parents to ensure we meet these standards and ensure our girls are portraying the image and attitude we would want for them. 01
