ABOUT ATEC
The Algae Foundation launched the Algae Technology Educational Consortium (ATEC) to support the expansion of the algal industry through the development of: educational curricula (K-12, collegiate); extension services; and online learning modules, courses, certificates, and degrees. ATEC forms collaborative relationships with academic institutions, national research laboratories, and algae companies to develop and implement novel educational programs to strengthen industry workforce capabilities, by focusing on the skills needed to support the commercialization of algal products. Through education and training programs, students learn practical applications of farming and biotechnology, developing the skills for the next generation of algal-based jobs.

Our K-12 Algae STEM Initiative educates and excites students on the power of algae as a sustainable solution for several of the dilemmas facing our global community. This five-day curriculum is the first step in engaging the next generation of life-long learners and bioeconomy professionals.
