THIRD YEAR STUDENTS OF 2021

The third year students expierenced a slightly different schedule than usual at the beginning of this year. They started with LP12 - Manage Event Finances - facilitated by our new external lecturer Lene du Bois and their Entrepreneurship and Small Business course with MC Coetzer and Chris Vos as per usual. With an already full schedule they also started with their LP14 - Coordinate an Event Successfully - with lecturer Monique Harris.

After handing in LP12 and their Entrepreneurship business plan in April, they could focus on completing their all important thesis subject. This year in their thesis subject, they had the choice between two different events that get hosted in Laurent on Lourensford Wine Estate; an Aleit Group Year End Function or a Traditional One-Day Wedding. They had freedom to select their pax, their look and feel, what locations they use at the venue and of course their client budget. They created some pretty impressive events and weddings!

Andrea van Dyk and Leandri Herrewyn, who represents the group as student forum representatives also took the lead and arranged several group socials and fun activities for the year group which brought them together like a tight-knit family. Read more on this on page 23.
