FROM THE OFFICE

2021 Started with a bang as everyone wanted to start this year right after last year’s lockdown and restrictions. However the Coronavirus had other plans, and struck for a third (and hopefully last) time. As lecturers, we have had to make extremely difficult decisions, deal with unusual and out of the ordinary matters and all the while maintaining a safe environment for our students throughout.

We have grown as a team by adding two new lecturers: our Aleit Wedding coordinator, Nicola Johnson and Aleit Events coordinator, Markus Botha. They have jumped right into facilitating first- and second year subjects whilst we take on bigger marketing campaigns and expand our course offerings.

The Events and Hospitality industry might have taken a knock for the moment, but it is definitely two of the industries this world can never go without. It is human nature for people to always host events & weddings and visit other countries and restaurants. We just have to stay positive (and test negative) and prepare for the future.

We look forward to seeing our students grow, while they take on challenges never faced before and go into the industry with heaps of knowledge and skills to be the best versions of themselves.
