THE DOC THOM ORDER OF MERIT The 2017 Ayrshire Order of Merit for the Doc Thom Salver included 20 local, national and international counting events, with the Mainholm Cup at Ayr Dalmilling and the Stone Trophy at Largs Routenburn becoming counting events for the first time. Michael Smyth won the Doc Thom Salver for the second time, a win in the final event giving him the title from Scott Brown (Prestwick St Cuthbert) with a points total of 400.00 gained from wins in three of the qualifying events, the Hillhouse Cup at Royal Troon, the Belleisle Cup at Ayr Belleisle and the Arrol Cup at Prestwick St Nicholas. The Runner Up, Scott Brown, had a total of 352.5 points gained from five events including a win in the Ballochmyle Rosebowl.
