ALAND was established in 2002

Since founding ALAND more than 20 years ago, Andrew Hrsto has been a driving force behind the group's success.

When I founded ALAND my ambition was to build affordable, high-quality apartments across Western Sydney. Over 20 years later that vision is still behind everything that ALAND does.

The need for new homes in Sydney has never been more urgent than it is right now and I am proud that ALAND continues to identify new opportunities and, equally importantly, bring them to fruition.

ALAND apartments appeal to both owner-occupiers and investors because of their use of high quality finishes, contemporary design and attractive in-house amenities.

ALAND today is operating in a challenging environment, but I remain focussed on creating beautiful, sustainable and long-lasting buildings that will meet Sydney’s housing needs, now and into the future.

3

ABOUT

ALAND was established in 2002, and since then it has grown into one of Sydney’s largest private multidisciplinary development and construction companies. We aim to grow sustainably for many years to come.

Showcasing meticulous quality and attention to detail, we have delivered numerous acclaimed masterplanned and mixed-use projects, continually setting the highest quality standards and level of trust among our community of clients, customers, co-workers and peers.

VISION

To provide an industry leading, sustainable product to enhance the lifestyles of our customers and the communities in which they live.

– We strive to create an environment where all employees can develop to reach their potential and deliver consistent performance at the highest level.

FOCUS

– To deliver high-quality homes at an affordable price.

– Due to the ever-growing demand for housing, our typical delivery model involves mixed-use apartment developments.

– We develop and build in town centres in Western Sydney and other regional areas, often combining residential housing with community amenities, retail and commercial offerings.

Since founding ALAND more than 20 years ago, Andrew Hrsto has been a driving force behind the group’s success.

He established the business to deliver quality aspirational housing to areas where people want to live, recognising that thoughtful land development and community amenity are at the core of a great living experience.

Andrew continues to champion ALAND's vision, having recently moved into an advisory role within the company. With his vast experience and expertise, he provides critical direction for ALAND's future projects, growth prospects and land acquisitions.

Andrew continues to strive for innovation at ALAND, aiming to create properties which aren't just bricks and mortar, but homes that represent a dream lifestyle choice with true value potential.

With a career in the construction and property sector that spans more than 20 years, George Tadrosse joined AL AND in 2012 and was appointed to the role of CEO in 2019.

George commenced with ALAND as a Construction Manager and was asked to lead operations just seven years later – an achievement that he attributes to attitude, resilience and hard work. George looks at life skills as a critical element of success, rather than focussing solely on technical know-how.

George’s leadership style is based on agility, understanding that change can occur quickly and that teams need to be able to adjust. He encourages open communication among team members and believes it is key in delivering for ALAND.

Extremely proud of the work that ALAND delivers, George’s vision for the next decade is to look at new ways to deliver housing which exceeds customer expectations, while maintaining a high level of integrity and respect for ALAND’s core values.

Our strategic approach to ESG

As part of establishing ALAND's ESG framework the business undertook:

– research of material topics reported by relevant benchmarked companies and global ESG standards

– strategy workshop and stakeholder engagement to discuss and prioritise material topics based on inputs using a materiality matrix to represent topic importance

– identified and agreed on four broad ESG issues as most relevant for ALAND aligned to Environmental, Social and Governance pillars.

ALAND today is operating in a challenging environment, but we remain focussed on creating beautiful, sustainable and long-lasting buildings that will meet Sydney’s housing needs, now and into the future.

ALAND has recently formalised a strategic approach to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) that works towards clear ESG outcomes for the business and its stakeholders.

ALAND COMMUNITY

There is an increase in the population density of Australia's major cities, as more and more residents – both domestic and foreign – prefer to live in these areas due to the opportunities that they offer. As cities continue to grow rapidly, there are numerous opportunities for them to evolve and prosper in new, environmentally friendly ways. However, it also puts considerable strain on our infrastructure and communities as we adapt to a new way of life. As we grow, we need to continue to stay connected to each other.

It is ALAND's responsibility to make a positive impact on the communities in and around its assets – after all, the places we create will have a profound effect on the lives of people who live, work and play there. Our legacy must be one that enriches communities, and we must listen to our stakeholders so that we understand what is important to them as well. In this way, we will be able to make collaborative decisions that will positively impact people and create places where they will feel safe, happy, healthy and connected.

Community connections are highly valued. As a result of our early investment in social infrastructure, we have been able to demonstrate that we are able to create flourishing communities.

ALAND has been working on developing a new way to increase and measure our social impact and whether we are generating a social return on investment. While this may take some time and planning, we believe this is an important area to invest in.

08—IN THE COMMUNITY
52
We are committed to creating community hubs where residents can play an active role in developing the fabric of their community.
