The work is about longing, the strive for something, the wanderlust to a certain place. To a certain extent, it’s an escape but not in a romantic way. The works are windows to worlds, both close to this one, and as far away as can be. Often times in combination with one another. And sometimes these worlds so far apart from ours, feel more real than this one. Born from darkness, the light becomes the focal point, because light is one of the most beautiful phenomena in the whole wide world. Light stands for the good that gets devoured by the nonexistence surrounding it. Darkness is an avatar for fear. But on the other hand, it is the comfortableness of hiding beneath your blanket. Whereas light can both be good and pure, but can be too bright and overwhelming just as well. Overwhelming by colour, sound and other external powers, the saturated use of colours that culminates in a warped image of some reality. Fragments of this world and many others get mixed and brought together to become one. Colour that is always next to the absence of light, and the looming darkness overhead.

There will always be infinity, because there has yet to be an end. And on one side, the fear this endlessness, but on the other side the desire for its freedom. This work is about these contrasts. In the end art is a complex self-portrait. With references to desire, fear and other emotions yet to grasp.
