LASONYA TUTTLE, CHAPTER PRESIDENT

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, recognizing the achievements and contributions of notable women, let us also emphasize the value of sisterhood and service, as we continue in the legacy of Alpha Kappa Alpha – as vibrant Phenomenal Women. While we rest on God’s truth that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made”, let us be reminded to always celebrate our inner strength and continued growth in selfacceptance. Let us be reminded to embrace our unique qualities, which highlight our true beauty that is found in our love, trust and confidence in a Savior who has freed us to unconditionally love ourselves and one another, as we love Him During this month of reflection, we have been given concerted opportunities to openly discuss our concerns in “uncertain times”. But, they too have only turned out to be a blessed reminder that as we face our unique challenges as women, not only are we NEVER ALONE, but we are ALWAYS understood. Our Lord is so faithful and loving to make us in His image, with “the fire in our eyes” and “the sun of our smile” always being an everlasting reflection of His infinite beauty! My Sisters, in knowing this, let us continue to be proud of WHAT He made us to be, and continue to be proud of WHO He made us to be

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10

Held at the First Reformed United Church of Christ in Lexington, NC, the event created a safe and supportive space for women to engage in meaningful conversation around the challenges they face in today’s society.

Together, we explored how gender bias impacts women’s mental, emotional, and physical health, especially in the workplace, within families, and in the pursuit of selfcare Attendees shared personal experiences, gained insight from professionals, and left feeling seen, heard, and empowered.

We are thankful for the continued collaboration with NAMI and for everyone who joined us in this vital discussion. Let’s continue to uplift, support, and advocate for women’s wellbeing—because Her Story Matters
