2021 Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service Chapter Awards Guidelines

The International Program Committee is pleased to present criteria and guidelines for Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service awards for the 2022 regional conferences. All award criteria are being sent to each Regional Director to share and to guide the Regional Awards Committee Chairman and the Regional Awards Committee in the selection of chapter award winning recipients. Each region is responsible for the selection of chapter award recipients using the criteria herein. Information in this packet should be included in the Regional Awards Booklet or via appropriate communications as approved by each Regional Director.

Key factors to note:

• Alpha Kappa Alpha has performed Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service in a virtual and in-person environment throughout 2021. • All chapter awards submissions for Excellence program activities can reflect virtual and in-person environment program/community service activities. • Award selection will be handled by the respective Regional Award Committee and will follow the process set forth by the Region. • The International Program Committee will not be involved in the selection of Regional Award Winners. • Each award will include one graduate and one undergraduate winner and one graduate and one undergraduate runner-up. • Each Region should determine winners for Small, Medium and Large Chapter Categories. • Each award will have one Graduate and one Undergraduate winner and one Graduate and one Undergraduate

Runner-up among Small, Medium, and Large Chapters. Award judges should utilize chapter program activity suggestions in the International Program Resource Guide, the Guide to Virtual Program activities and

Resources, and the Phased-In Service Program Activity Protocol as well as the criteria in this document to determine winners.
