I Even though, the official GPA information provided to the Regional Director will be used to evaluate for this award. To be considered for this award, the soror MUST do the following: A. Prepare a formal, typed and signed business letter addressed to the Regional Director notifying her that the letter-writer (the potential candidate) is applying for the Bernice I. Sumlin Individual Award.

B. The letter should be emailed to the Great Lakes Regional Awards Chairman at glregionalawards@gmail.com:

The subject line should be Sumlin Award (Soror Name and Chapter)

DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT is February 19, 2022 Notes:

There will be no fee for this award if the chapter has submitted two other awards that don’t include a Bernice I. Sumlin award. Chapters won’t be considered for this award unless the letter is received by the deadline.

TOTAL POINTS POSSIBLE: 100

Note: Each college/university explains in its official, published documents how that school’s registrar’s office computes a student’s GPA. The Registrar’s Office is to be contacted for any detailed clarification that is needed on the GPA for an individual student. The GLRC Awards Committee neither receives nor reviews the GPA documents sent to the Great Lakes Regional Director. The outcome of this award is determined by the GPA information received by the Regional Director. GLRC Awards Committee will only be monitoring who is applying the for the award by receipt of the letter.
