Inpastmonthlymessages(asIhavealwaysdone),Iwould liketofocusandreflectonourtheme.Thismonth’stheme is, “Sisterhood and Friendship.” During our June chapter business meeting, sorors wore yellow and pink. Yellow is usually symbolized by the sun and represents joy, cheerfulness, optimism, light, and mental positivity. Pink symbolizeslove,nurture,andcompassion.Thesetwocolors are vibrant, and I like to think that they describe our sisterhoodandfriendshipsformed.

Friendship is a tenet of which the axiomatic outstanding AlphaXiOmegaChapterwasfounded.Yes,thissisterhood was established to promote unity and friendship among college women. It is my belief that some of us have established,extended,andsustainedourfriendshipsbeyond college life. I say this because sorors continue to visit and affiliate with co-initiates and friends made over the years whentheopportunityavailsitself.

Itisimportanttorememberthattohaveafriend,asoror mustshowherselffriendly.Inotherwords,shemustbea friend.Sistershavebeenencouragedbyleaderstofollowthe Golden Rule to maintain friendships for decades. The GoldenRuleistoreciprocatetoothershowyouwishtobe treated. Teach people how to treat you with a compassionateheart.Thrownegativityoutofthewindow, leave it there, and PLAN to focus on the growth of the AlphaXiOmegaChapterSisterhood.
