September marks the season of new beginnings; reflection, planning, and renewed momentum. There are several opportunities for chapter members to display gratitude for blessingsbestoweduponusthroughouttheyear. Therefore, letusspringintoactionthroughourparticipationinscheduled activities.

Iadmitthatwemayfalter;butthroughGod’sgrace,wegetup andtryagainbecauseitisimperativethatwepersistinrealizing themissionandvisionofthegreatestsororityandchapteron earth. Thereisstillsomuchworktobedone,anditisthrough ourworkthatGodgetstheglory.

Thereisnodoubtthatwebecomewearyandoftentimesfeel tatteredandtorn;butletusrestandkeepgoinguntilchapter goals are realized. We must continue to move forward to completethemeaningful,authentic,thoughtful,involved,and community focused opportunities ahead of us as did our foundersalmost118yearsago. Wherewouldwebetodayhad theydecidedtositdownwithallthetalenttheybroughttothe table?

Thislifeisprecious,andwemusttreatitassuch. Stayengaged by attending workshops and meetings, reading AKA documents, uplifting our community through service, and adheringtosoundadvice. Ourmembersgenerouslyansweredthecallfordonations.ThroughanAmazonWishListanddirect contributions,weprovidedover3,000essentialitems,includingdiapers,wipes,andsanitarynapkins,alo with$1,303inmonetarygifts.Oureffortsareatestamenttoourcommitmenttosupportingmothersa childreninneed.

OnAugust7,wecontinuedourservicetraditionbypartneringwiththeAmericanCareFoundationan othercommunitygroupstoserveover500studentsfromOakCliff Wehelpedpreparethemforthene schoolyearbyprovidingfreehaircuts,lunch,andbackpacksfilledwithschoolsupplies,uniforms,andto AlphaXiOmegacontinuestobeashiningexampleofserviceandsisterhood.

Self-CareAwarenessMonthisrecognizedinSeptember.Theobjectiveisto emphasizetheimportanceofunderstandingone’sownthoughts,feelings,and behaviorstoeffectivelymanagementalhealth.Duringthismonth,practicebeing goodtoyourself,andtaketimetogrowinself-careandpersonalwellness.

Hereareafewwaystoexerciseself-care:

∙PrioritizeSelf-Care:Engageinactivitiesthatpromoterelaxationandwell-being,such asexercise,mindfulness,spendingtimeinnature,orpursuinghobbies.
